Abstract: A lock-wedge bracket (10) is intended to straddle a beam and can be mounted at any desired position on the beam. It comprises a short leg (12) and a long leg (14), forming a 90.degree. angle with each other. An angle flange (16) on the leg (12) is bent 90.degree. and the outer edge of the leg (14) is bent over approximately 105.degree.. A wedge (23) and a hook (29) with a lip (31) are disposed in a slot in the leg (14). The distal end of the leg (14) thereby acts as a pressure spring (18) for resilient pressing of the wedge against the hook, which in turn is brought into engagement with the lip (31) under the lateral edge of the beam.

Abstract: A device for anchoring beams, together or to one or more other structural elements. A wedge-shaped beam attachment (10) is intended to straddle respective beams and can be fitted in any selected position along the beam. The attachment includes a short leg (12) and a long leg (14) which define an angle or 90 degrees with one another. An angled collar (16) on the short leg (12) is bent through 90 degrees and the outer end of the long leg (14) is bent to an angle of about 75 degrees. This bent outer end of the long leg (14) forms an abutment spring (18) which consequently defines an angle of approximately 75 degrees with the long leg (14) and which functions to urge a wedge (23) resiliently against the side edge of a beam.

Abstract: A tonneau cover assembly is provided having a rail system, a cover and one or more clamping mechanisms. The clamping mechanism includes a two-piece clamp. The first member is engageable with the rail, and includes an abutment mechanism thereon to contact the rail. The first member also includes a pivotable lever which can be used to exert a force on the second member. The first member includes an opening therein to receive the second member therethrough. The second member includes an extension having one or more teeth thereon. The extension is positioned through the opening in the first member, such that the teeth may engage a portion of the first member. The second member also includes a portion which is engageable with a vertical rail of the side wall of the vehicle. By actuating the lever, the clamp is positioned securely to the rail and the vehicle side wall.

Abstract: A safety clamp for mounting on wires of an animal trap to hold the trap against inadvertent actuation comprises a pair of flat plates arranged in spaced parallel position and squeezable together against resistance from a coil spring positioned there between. Each plate carries a hook member with a straight portion having one end welded to the respective squeeze plate and extending therefrom at a right angle through a hole in the other squeeze plates to a hook portion beyond the other squeeze plate. The hook members are parallel and closely spaced so that the coil spring is wrapped around the two hook members in their position between the squeeze plates. Two further hook portions are mounted on one side of the squeeze plates and extend inwardly between the squeeze plates. The hook portions are engaged over wires of the trap and are held in place by the spring action pulling the hook portions together.

Abstract: A device for releasably gripping a shaft has a body with a central channel for receiving the shaft. The device also has an arrangement, mounted to the body, for gripping and releasing the shaft when a member of the arrangement, is respectively in first and second positions with respect to the body. A sleeve is disposed concentrically outside of the body, and is mounted for axial movement with respect to the body in such a manner as to cause axial movement of the member, so axial movement of the sleeve in a first direction will achieve release of the shaft. In this manner, one may grip the sleeve and, in a single motion, achieve release of the shaft and slide the device relative to the shaft.

Abstract: A clamp that comprises a clamp column extending upwardly from one end of a base. The clamp column has a first clamping plate at its free end. An adjustment column also extends upwardly from the base and is spaced parallel to the clamp column. The adjustment column includes a threaded section on its free end. A clamp arm is disposed in spaced parallel relationship with the base and the clamp arm includes a second clamping plate in alignment with the first clamping plate. An opening formed through the clamp arm is positioned in alignment with the adjustment column. A shaft that has a lower threaded section extends through the opening in the clamp arm to threadably engage the threaded section of the adjustment column. The shaft is selectively rotated to adjust the spacing between the first and second clamp plates. An over center cam lever has one end element pivotally attached to the top section of the extending above the clamp arm shaft and a second end element forming the hand grip.

Abstract: The invention provides a system for mounting accessories on inflatable structures. The system according to the invention is characterized by having a profiled molding (2) forming a strip adapted to be secured to the inflatable structure (1), and selectively removable and position-adjustable mounting devices (4) for mounting of accessories or accessory-fittings on said profiled molding (2). The invention is suitable for use on inflatable boats.

Abstract: A clamp for use in attaching items to an overhead flanged beam comprises a first jaw 10 and a second jaw 11. First ends 13 and 15 of the jaws are shaped for engagement respectively with the flanges of an overhead flanged beam. Second ends 16 and 17 of the jaws are pivotly interconnected by a pivot bolt 18. Attachment means in the form of a shackle 20 is attached to bolt 18. Attached to each jaw is a swivel 24 and the swivels 24 are threadedly interconnected by a screw threaded rod 27. When the rod 27 is rotated, the jaws 10 and 11 move towards or away from one another. The swivels 24 are connected to the jaws by bolts 26, so that the swivels and bar 27 are readily removable for maintenance or replacement.

Abstract: A clamp for use especially in securing a bicycle front wheel to the bicycle frame in order to prevent swinging of the wheel about its steering pivot as when the bicycle is transported at the rear or on top of a vehicle, the purpose being to eliminate the problem of the wheel striking the transporting vehicle. The clamp comprises a pair of J-shaped members arranged with their flat legs lengthwise and overlapping each other so that the hooks of the J face each other for engagement of one hook with the bicycle frame while the other engages a portion of the front wheel rim of the bicycle. Provision is made for lengthwise adjustment of the members to accommodate different structural relationships, and a guide is provided for keeping the members parallel to each other during adjustment.

Abstract: A clamping band for securing together two flanged members formed with annular flanges, such as a filter housing, comprises an elongated flexible member wrappable about the annular flanges of the two flanged members; a draw bolt and shackle for fixing the ends of the elongated flanged members; and a plurality of flat, rigid inserts receivable on the elongated flexible member and spaced along the length thereof, each of the rigid inserts being formed with a recess on one face, constituting its inner face, for receiving the flanges of the two flanged members.

Abstract: A nonmetallic surgical clip having two separate and noncontiguous parts is decribed. Each part contains an arm, and means for approximating the cooperating surfaces of the two arms. The clip is useful in ligating a blood vessel, e.g. an artery.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for locking an object against a stop on a shaft, bar or the like. The device comprises a sleeve with a bore conformed to the shaft, and a ring movably connected to the sleeve in the axial direction and also having a bore conformed to the shaft. A member is arranged in the sleeve and adapted to act on the ring in such a manner that the ring is fixed in an inclined position relative to the shaft, and thereafter to move the sleeve away from the ring along the shaft so that the sleeve will urge the object against the stop.

Abstract: A ski clip to assist in the carrying of skis is formed by having a two-sectioned, generally "C-shape" for the ski clip, wherein the two sections are spring-loaded to hold the skis therein.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a clamper for holding articles of clothing together, and comprises a front member, a clamp member, and pivot means for connecting the members together and for holding the clamp member at a space from the front member; the members are adapted to be positioned such that portions of the articles of clothing are received in the space; the clamp member is movable on the pivot means between a clamped position and an open position, and the clamp member includes an article engagement part thereon. The engagement part extends into the space when the clamp member is in the clamped position and it is moved out of the space when said clamp member is pivoted to the open position.

Abstract: A lateral support for a squeegee of an application mechanism of an application machine, has a supporting element arranged to support one end portion of a squeegee, and at least one substantially upright upwardly open guiding element arranged to slidingly guide the supporting element. The supporting element can be guided in or on the guiding element. An application mechanism of an application machine has perhaps a rotary stencil, a squeegee perhaps inside the rotary stencil, and a lateral support including a supporting element and an upwardly open guiding element arranged to slidingly guide the supporting element.
