Threaded Cylindrical Rod And Mating Cavity Patents (Class 24/569)
  • Patent number: 4752991
Abstract: A clamp apparatus which can releasably grip an elongate element includes first and second jaw members supported for relative movement between gripping and release positions. The first jaw member has thereon first and second surface portions and a recess therebetween, the first and second surface portions facing in a first direction toward the second jaw member and being spaced from each other in a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction. The second jaw has thereon a projection which extends toward the first jaw, the projection being aligned with and having a width in the second direction which is less than the width in the second direction of the recess in the first jaw member.

  • Patent number: 4718266
Abstract: A pair of generally parallel, laterally spaced and registered plates are provided including corresponding opposite margins having projections supported therefrom and spaced therealong projecting toward and engageable with the corresponding margin of the opposing plate. The projections on corresponding margins of the opposing plates are staggered relative to each other and clamp fastener structure is secured through the mid-portions of the plates for forcibly drawing the plates toward each other and clamping sheet metal portions between one pair of corresponding projection equipped margins thereof. At least one marginal edge of one of the plates includes anchor structure supported therefrom, to which a pull member may be removably anchored.

  • Patent number: 4700437
Abstract: A clamp comprises a pair of pivotally connected jaws. A spring urges the jaws apart. A screw extends from the first jaw through the second jaw and projects above the second jaw. An operating lever for clamping and unclamping the jaws is screw threadedly received on the screw above the second jaw. The screw may be locked against rotation by engagement of the screw with a seat in the first jaw. With the screw locked against rotation, rotation of the lever around the screw selectively clamps and unclamps the jaws around an article. To adjust the distance of separation between the clamping surfaces of the jaws before rotation of the lever, the screw is axially shifted off its seat on the first jaw and the screw is then rotated with respect to the operating lever to adjust the height of the operating lever along the screw. Thereafter, the screw reengages the seat in the first jaw to prevent further rotation of the screw.

  • Patent number: 4674722
Abstract: A mounting clamp particularly suited for mounting medical accessories on support poles comprises a stationary clamping surface which can be attached to an accessory housing. A cam is pivotly mounted on a trunnion connected to the stationary clamping surface has a spiral clamping surface, the stationary clamping surface and spiral clamping surface being positioned to constitute a clamping means when the clamp is in a clamping position. A spring means having one end connected to the trunnion and the other end connected to the cam is provided for biasing the cam to the clamping position. A lever pivotly mounted on the trunnion has a projection which engages the cam and causing it to pivot with the lever when the lever is pivoted to a clamp releasing position. The cam preferably has two spiral surfaces, one generated by a line parallel to the axis of rotation of the cam and the second cam surface by a line forming an angle with the axis of rotation of the cam.

  • Patent number: 4601451
Abstract: The invention contemplates a two-piece cable-clamp and bracket assembly especially suited for messenger-wire or the like suspension of two TV amplifier units, line extenders or the like from a single point along the suspension wire. The assembly is configured for naturally balanced, loosely retained initial engagement to and suspension from the wire. Loose retention is by way of a nut and bolt, and the parts interengage to assure correct mutual orientation at all times, such that all aspects of assembly to, adjustment along, and final clamping involve only one-handed operation. The final clamped engagement to the wire assures keyed anti-rotational suspension from the wire.

  • Patent number: 4597140
Abstract: A tube clamp includes a pair of clamping members. One of the members is adapted to be fixedly secured as by welding to a stationary surface and the other bolted to the fixed member. The fixed member is formed with recesses complementarily formed relative to the heads of bolts used to clamp the two members together thus providing captive bolts.Interengaging elements on the members prevent clamping the two members together except when the members are in a fixed relationship.

  • Patent number: 4597205
Abstract: A clamp assembly for mounting a snow plow to the lip of a loader bucket comprises a pair of receiving frames forming laterally extending slots. A ramp surface is disposed at the apex of the slots. Pivot arms mount a clamp engagement members which may be locked position to secure the lip of a loader bucket received in the slots. A snow plow connects with connector arms which are pivotally mounted to the receiving frames.

  • Patent number: 4573471
Abstract: Surgical prosthetic apparatus for joining the ends of organic tubular vessels to be anastomosed consisting of a tubule over which the ends to be joined are drawn, combined with a clamp consisting of two flat parts with a channel between them. The channel is clamped over the tubule by means of screws through the clamp parts, which are drawn together and clamps the walls of the vessel against the outside of the tubule, so that the ends are prevented from sliding apart. The screws may advantageously be locked by means of locking screws. The clamping pressure can be monitored by means of a manometer having a pressure sensing bulb which can be inserted into a cavity formed between the clamp parts.

  • Patent number: 4541155
Abstract: A portable clamp/hanger device that provides a rigid connection that is releasable between a support beam and a hoist or other load-carrying means. The device includes a movable platform pivoted to a stationary U-shaped member with an opening therebetween. The flange of a support beam is located within the opening and the platform moves against the flange by tightening an underlying screw threaded through a hollow anchor shaft which is secured to the lower arm of the stationary member. A collar swivels universally about a portion of the anchor shaft and includes posts from which swings a hanger for attaching hooks, shackles, rope ties and the like. The platform is provided with an adjustable cleat for adapting to various sized beams. A locking mechanism is included to prevent loosening of the screw. Alternatively, auxiliary pressure can be applied to the movable jaw with a cam and ratchet mechanism or other force transfer device.

  • Patent number: 4489467
Abstract: Mounting device for a rod-shaped proximity switch which is constructed, apart from a tightening screw (10), as a one-piece injection moulded plastic part. The latter has a fastening part (12) provided with holes (14) for fastening bolts; at the ends of the fastening part (12), small block-shaped parts extending away from the fastening part to the side are moulded on, one of which forms a rigid clamping jaw (16) and the other, a small rigid supporting block (18). Between these two blocks there is a moveable clamping jaw (20), also designed to be shaped like a small block, which on the side facing away from the fastening part (12) is connected with the small rigid supporting block (18) by way of a flexible web (22). The small rigid supporting block (18) has, next to the fastening part (12), a threaded hole (24) for a tightening screw (10) to apply pressure to the moveable clamping jaw (20) in the direction of the rigid clamping jaw (16).

  • Patent number: 4455716
Abstract: The invention contemplates a unitary cable-clamp fitting adapted for equipment or other connection to an overhead-suspension cable or messenger wire. The fitting comprises two side panels integrally connected by a single bend establishing an initially acute angle between the side panels. In a preferred form, the outer edge of each panel is characterized by an elongate flange bent inward and generally toward the opposite side panel, and the initial space between flanges is slightly less than the cable diameter to be accommodated, so that cable assembly and loose retention are achieved via snap-action insertion between the flanges. A nut and bolt, loosely engaged via aligned openings in the panels, is tightened to set the clamp to the cable. Bracket hardware having a mounting opening may be clamped with the same nut and bolt, and the bolt itself may be formed for simple accessory or guy-wire connection.
