  • Patent number: 11884452
Abstract: A child-resistant resealable container comprising a closure strip assembly having first and second lateral interlocking members. The first lateral interlocking member is attached to a first extension strip, and the second lateral interlocking member is attached to a second extension strip. The first and second extension strips are attached to the interior surfaces of the respective first and second walls below the top edge of the first and second walls such that a portion of the first and second walls extends to define first and second flaps. The first and second lateral interlocking members are configured to become disengaged from each other when the first and second flaps are pulled apart from each other as the second extension strip is held against the interior surface of the second wall, but remain connected when the flaps are pulled apart without also holding the second extension strip against the interior surface of the second wall.

One or more alignment buttons facilitate closure of resealable storage bags possessing zipper lock, zip fastener, or press seal closures, such as sandwich bags and plastic food storage bags. Each alignment button has a raised feature and a corresponding socket feature on opposing sides of the bag's seal or closure. When the two parts of each alignment button are pressed together, the socket feature captures an apex part of the raised feature and aligns opposing tracks of a zipper lock or seal for easy closure. One of more of the alignment buttons may be manufactured as an integral feature of the seal or closure, or may be located in a line or pattern, above or below the seal or closure. Likewise, multiple alignment buttons may be placed above and below the seal or closure in a pattern.

  • Patent number: 8061898
Abstract: A venting closure mechanism for a pouch includes first and second closure profiles that interlock and third and fourth closure profiles that interlock. A sealing flap extends from the first closure element between the first and third closure profiles and engages the second closure element to form a releasable gastight seal therebetween. When the first and second closure elements are occluded, a first plurality of longitudinally spaced first exhaust channels is disposed on a product-side of the sealing flap and a second plurality of longitudinally spaced second exhaust channels is disposed on a user-side of the sealing flap. A first pouch sidewall is attached to the first closure element at an exterior surface thereof between a user-side edge of the first closure element and the sealing flap. An interior surface of the first pouch sidewall is textured with a pattern that provides flow channels therealong.

  • Patent number: 8011831
Abstract: A zipper tape includes a pair of a male member and a female member including engagement portions and belt-like bases, continued to the engagement portions. The belt-like base includes a seal base defined by widening the belt-like base a larger width from the engagement portions to a crosswise end of the belt-like base than that of the belt-like base. A bond layer and an easy-peel layer are layered on a surface of the seal base in side of the engagement portion and heat-fused to a bag body. The seal base is formed of polypropylene. The bond layer is formed of a mixture of polypropylene and low density polyethylene. The easy-peel layer is formed of a mixture of low density polyethylene and polypropylene. A ratio of polypropylene in the easy-peel layer is smaller than a ratio of polypropylene in the bond layer.

  • Patent number: 8002467
Abstract: A fastener profile assembly and method of forming a fastener profile assembly is provided. The assembly includes a continuous supply of two interlocking profiles which are sealed at either end with a compression molded segment seal. The compression molded segment seal is formed through the application of heat and pressure to the interlocking profiles, thereby fusing the area and forming one end of the profile. Advancement of the profiles and application of heat and pressure to a second area forms the second end of the profile assembly. Manufacture of a fastener in such a manner allows for highly automated profile production with precise, accurate registration of the fastener profile.

  • Patent number: 7946003
Abstract: A reclosable tamper-evident package is opened and closed repeatedly by opening and closing a first closure of a package, and when it is desired to close the package and provide an indication of further opening, a second closure is closed that cannot readily be opened. The tamper evident package has a closure assembly that includes a zipper closure arrangement with a slider device. In one embodiment, the slider device is movable between a first axial position and a second axial position. When the slider device is in the first axial position, moving the slider device laterally along the zipper closure arrangement in a first direction closes the first closure. When the slider device is in the second axial position, moving the slider device laterally along the zipper closure arrangement in a first direction closes both the first closure and the second closure.

  • Patent number: 7914208
Abstract: A reclosable fastener strip for securing to a film web comprises first and second elongated profile strips having interlocking hooks, recesses and protuberances. Each hook, as extruded, has a half arrowhead-shaped tip, a concave or partial-concave tail, and a generally upstanding neck connecting the tip and tail. Each recess has a base with a pair of generally upstanding neck elements disposed on opposite ends of the base. The base does not extend laterally beyond the neck elements. Each protuberance, as extruded, has a rounded tip, a concave or partial-concave tail, and a generally upstanding neck portion connecting the tip and tail. The profile strips are readily secured to the web without entrapping air between the profile strips and the film web and form an vacuum tight seal. The interlocking hooks, recesses and protuberances are sized, constructed and arranged to provide a vacuum tight seal upon interconnection thereof.
