    Abstract: Buckle for adjusting the strap in equipment for practicing water sports, such as diving goggles, swimming goggles or the like, said strap being provided at at-least one end with a plurality of transverse reliefs, said buckle comprising a body provided with means for driving said end of the strap and with an engaging tooth which is normally kept in a position engaged with said reliefs of said strap, against said drive means, there being envisaged operating means able to disengage said engaging tooth from said reliefs, comprising means with an inclined surface co-operating with said engaging tooth and movable in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the end of said belt.

Certain other embodiments include a strap tab that is slidable relative to a strap tab cap. As tension in the strap increases or decreases, the strap tab slides relative to the strap tab cap, covering and uncovering various indicator portions on the strap tab and/or the frame member. The strap tension indicator provides positive indication of optimal strap tension. Certain embodiments also provide positive indication of inadequate or excessive strap tension.

    Abstract: A mask strap adjuster attaches a strap with right triangular ribs to a mask, allows the strap to be tightened by pulling the strap and comprises a base, a cover and a connector. The base has two corresponding moveable caps. Each cap has two nubs. The cover is mounted on the base and has a pawl and two nubs. The pawl engages the ribs on the strap to allow the strap to be tightened by simply pulling the strap. The nubs of the cover are pressed selectively by the nubs on the caps and press the cover away from the base and the pawl away from the ribs to loosen the strap. The cover and the base can be short.

    Abstract: An adjustable fastener such as one suitable for use in securing straps in a variety of orthotic and other types of devices. The fastener has a male portion and a female portion that are each attached to a strap or other desired location on the device with which the fastener is used. The male portion has an elongated tab and the female portion has a housing and a passage through the housing. The passage allows the elongated tab to slide through the housing in the female portion. An engagement finger in the housing is resiliently biased to engage one or more teeth along an edge of the elongated tab to prevent the elongated tab from sliding further out of the passage. The finger can be selectively disengaged from the teeth to allow the elongated tab to slide further or completely out of the housing.
