Plural Hooks Entering Opposite Sides Of Same Cavity Patents (Class 24/598.5)
  • Patent number: 11926507
Abstract: A hook assembly includes a first hook having a first open end and a second hook having a second open end. The first hook is parallel to the second hook where the first open end is adjacent to the second open end. Extensions extend from each of the first hook and the second hook. The extensions extend perpendicular to a hook plane of the first hook and the second hook members. The first hook is a mirror image of the second hook. A hinge connects the first hook to the second hook. The hinge is located at an opposite end of the hook from where the extensions are located. A resilient member exerts a constant force at the hinge to bias the first hook and the second hook toward an open position.

  • Patent number: 11125266
Abstract: Sister hook type tool assemblies comprise mating arms having C shape lower ends grip portions that terminate in jaws. The arms preferably are held between two spaced apart housings. The arms, and housings when present, are held together by a fastener at the upper end of the assembly. The arms pivot relative to one another and to the mated housings. Each housing has a pair of forks at one end which define a U shape opening. An object received in the opening is retained when the jaw ends arms overlappingly close the fork opening, due to action of spring. The V shape lower end contour of the mated arms and inclined surfaces of the fork tips cause a rigid object to open the jaws when the tool is thrusted at the object. The jaws then close under spring force, capturing the object. Optional locking means are used to keep the jaws from unintentionally opening.

The main body encloses the latching hook locker, the spring, the pull lever and the two latching hooks but exposes a portion of the two latching hooks and a portion of the pull lever. The pull lever has a protruding section that links up with the main body. The other end of the pull lever remains outside the main body and is free to rotate in an arc.

  • Patent number: 6602015
Abstract: A removable bicycle beam for adapting a bicycle frame for engagement with a vehicle-mounted bicycle rack. The beam includes a pair of securing mechanisms disposed on opposite ends of a central body. Each securing mechanism includes a fixed arm fixedly secured to the central body and a pivoting arm pivotally secured to the central body. Each arm includes a gripping portion extending outwardly from the central body that cooperates with the gripping portion of the other arm to releasably encircle and engage a component of the bicycle, such as the handle bar stem or the seat post. The pivoting arm and fixed arm lie in a substantially horizontal plane when in a closed position, and the pivoting arm is movable in the horizontal plane toward and away from the fixed arm. Each pivoting arm can be locked in a closed, engaged position by one of a pair of releasable latch mechanisms disposed within the central body and engagable with the pivoting arms.

  • Patent number: 6412152
Abstract: A clip for connecting to a ring or the like has a resilient bow and first and second hook portions at first and second ends of the bow. The second hook portion has a pair of spaced apart hook parts. A hook is formed in each hook portion. The clip can be opened by squeezing the bow in a transverse direction until the first hook portion extends between the hook parts of the second hook portion with the hooks facing one another. The first hook portion extends far enough that a gap exists between the hook portions through which a ring may be inserted into the hooks. When the clip is released, the bow biases the hook portions outwardly so that the ring is captured in a loop formed by the hooks. The clip may be fabricated from resilient plastic. The clip has many uses anywhere that it is desirable to clip something to a ring or the like. The clip may be made so that it is easy to open while wearing gloves.

  • Patent number: 6360408
Abstract: An improved hook latch mechanism, for use with cordage loops, used for leashes, cables, ropes, rigging or like restraining devices having a center body hook with a sliding outer sleeve to cover and uncover the hook opening. A spring loaded ball locking device is employed to lock the sliding sleeve in position to cover the hook opening to thus prevent the cordage loops from slipping off the hook, depressing the ball inwardly against a spring and sliding the sleeve upwardly to uncover the hook opening, permitting the removal of the cordage loop. A swiveling bail link at the other end of hook prevents twisting of the cordage loop.

  • Patent number: 6308383
Abstract: A securement system includes a hook having a retaining clip, and an end cap that attaches to an end of a tubular structural member. The hook has a base with at least one channel having a lateral opening thereto. The clip is assembled with the hook such that the clip closes the lateral opening into the channel to define a longitudinal passageway through the hook. An elastic cord extends through the structural member, through the end cap and through the longitudinal passageway through the hook. A knot or some other stop is placed on the cord to prevent the end of the cord from moving through the passageway. The end cap includes V-shaped notches that receive and anchor the cord at desired positions to facilitate securement of cargo to the structural member.
