Abstract: A device for releasable attachment of an object to a support member, such as a precious stone to a brooch or necklace, includes a first member for attachment to the object and having a releasable locking device and a second member for attachment to the support member and having a tab insertable into a slot of the first member to be engaged by the locking device to thereby releasably secure the first and second members together.
Abstract: A side-release type buckle is provided with a sliding member arrangement that enables the buckle to be easily released using only one hand, even if the engagement of the two parts of the buckle are being subjected to a strong pulling force in the direction of disengagement. The sliding member or grip is slidably mounted upon the exterior of the female member and includes laterally inwardly directed tapered surfaces for encountering engaging bars of the male member lockingly engaged with engagement edge portions of the female portion so as to disengage the engaging bars of the male member from the engagement edge portions of the female member when the slidable grip member is moved axially along the female member.
Abstract: A lock of the type generally described in Australian Patent Specification No. 552,608, comprising a bearing housing, a holding member and an eccentric pin, generally disposed and mechanically inter-related in the manner described in said specification, the bearing housing having forwardly directed means adapted to extend through a slot of a profile bar or the like to which, in use, the lock is to be secured, and the holding member having a hook element at the forward end thereof; characterized in that the forwardly directed means is so configured as to provide a positive lock behind or around the slot on the opposite side of the slot to that which the hook element assumes when the lock is secured to the profile bar or the like.
Abstract: A lock of the type generally described in Australian Patent Specification No. 552,608, comprising a bearing housing, a holding member and an eccentric pin, generally disposed and mechanically inter-related in the manner described in said specification, the holding member having a slot through which extends the journal of the eccentric pin; characterized in that the slot is so configured as to ensure that inadvertent rotation of the pin beyond the normal locking position is avoided.
Abstract: Improved reclosable, flexible containers having an internal fastening element wherein the improvement comprises an external opener for disengaging the internal fastening element.
Abstract: A buckle assembly includes a plug member and a socket member releasably coupled together to connect opposite ends of a strap or belt. The plug member includes a cantilevered resilient tongue having a locking lug lockingly engageable with a stopper bar of the socket member to couple the plug and socket member. The socket member includes a cantilevered resilient flap having a releasing lug engageable with the locking lug to disengage the latter from the stopper bar when the resilient flap is depressed. The stopper bar is engageable with the resilient flap to prevent undue resilient deformation of the latter.
Abstract: A fastener for securing two objects or structures together in a predetermined relationship. The fastener has a fastener body including a spacer which defines a predetermined distance between the two objects. A first locking element is attached to one side of the spacer and a second locking element is attached to the other side of the spacer. The fastener body is adapted to receive a plunger which when actuated will cause the locking elements to secure the first object and second object a predetermined distance apart.
Abstract: Removable anchors provide for the stabilization and securing of perforated panel hangers, on a semi-permanent basis, through the use of a formed semi-rigid anchor member inserted into one or more apertures of a perforated support panel, embracing at least a portion of the body or shank of at least one hanger and includes at least one end portion designed with one or more deformable barbs to which pull tab members are attached. After being inserted through the aperture of the perforated panel, without special tools, anchor barbs return to original shape locking behind the panel, the pull tab member extending through panel aperture to remain in front of perforated panel. When hanger removal is desired, pull tab elements attached to the anchor barbs are pulled and latched from the front of the perforated panel, causing the compacting of the anchor barb portions, they fold against the anchor body allowing anchor to exit through the panel perforation.
Abstract: A bracket to support instruments, lamps and other equipment is detachably connected to the lipped channel used in hospital wall and cart constructions. The bracket has a hollow housing having a hole at one end to receive a rod on which the instrument is mounted with a set screw to hold the rod in place. The opposite end of the housing has a first projecting lug to fit inside one lip of the channel. A dog member fits inside the housing and has a projecting second lug to fit inside the other lip of the channel. An adjustment screw fits inside the housing and threadedly engages the dog to move the second lug toward and away from the first lug. When the lugs are close together, they may be inserted between the channel lips at any point along the length of the channel. By turning the adjustment screw, the second lug may be drawn away from the first lug to lock against the channel lips, securing the bracket in position.

Abstract: A fastener in which a captive bolt engages a cylindrical nut within a cylrical confining housing. The cylindrical nut has a longitudinal slot in which a pair of oppositely facing latches are disposed and which cooperate with the housing to prevent the rotation of the nut. Rotation of the captive bolt moves the cylindrical nut longitudinally within the housing and operates to extend the ends of the latches to engage a surface or to retract the ends of the latches to within the nut.

Abstract: Removable device for attaching a racket to a player's wrist, comprises a flexible wrist strap that encircles the player's wrist, and a soft rubber cap that grips the end of the handgrip and has a rigid female insert that releasably retains a male assembly on the wrist strap. For this purpose, the insert has a central opening for receiving a portion of the male assembly, that central opening having an abutment shoulder that faces inwardly. The male assembly comprises a fitting having an annular flange that nests in the cap, and a cylindrical rod that slides in the fitting. The cylindrical rod has an enlarged conical inner end, which spreads apart or permits to move back toward each other, legs on the fitting that have outwardly extending detents. When the legs are spread, the detents cannot clear the abutment shoulder and so the device is held assembled. When the rod is pushed in and the legs can move back together, the detents are sufficiently closely spaced to clear the abutment shoulder.
Abstract: A positioning cone for positioning containers stacked one upon another on a ship or the like engages the containers without the need of turning a separate external lever. This arrangement saves time required to clamp the containers to one another and ensures secure and accurate positioning work by the use of a cooperative latch and locking pin.
