Abstract: A buckle having a male buckle member and a female buckle member adapted for mating latching engagement with one another, and a removable integrated attachment member adapted to engage with the male buckle member and fits between the male buckle member and the female buckle member when the two are in latched engagement and can be readily and easily removed from the male buckle member. The removable integrated attachment member has a projection that sits above the surface of the buckle members to facilitate attachment of a split-ring, carabiner, s-clip or other device for use in attaching items to the removable integrated attachment member. The buckle is particularly suited for use on an animal restraint, such as a collar or harness, but can also be employed on other articles having buckles anywhere an attachment point is desired.

The first housing is formed with a guide pin, the second housing is formed with a guide-pin guiding part, and the guide-pin guiding part is formed with a guide hole that guides the guide pin. The second housing has a pair of elastic supporting members formed at opposed positions on the supporting member side. When the guide pin is inserted into the guide hole, the guide pin presses the guide hole, the elastic supporting members are elastically deformed, and the second housing is moved, enabling the fitting.

In the connector, a first connector member having a first housing is fitted with a second connector member having a second housing and a supporting member having a cylindrical shape that supports the second housing. The second housing has a pair of shaft pins formed at positions opposed to each other on the supporting member side. The supporting member has a support claw including a pair of claw pieces that are elastically deformable and hold each of the shaft pins. After the first connector member and the second connector member are fitted together, when a pressure is applied thereto in a fitting direction, the shaft pins are moved to cause the claw pieces of the support claw to elastically deform, causing the shaft pins to detach from the support claw.

The fastening arrangement comprising a first closure element and a second closure element, which each consist of a plug part, a housing part and a catch. Each closure element is closed in that the plug part is put together with the housing part in a closing direction until snapping into place in a closed position, so that the plug part and the housing part are held at each other against the closing direction. Each housing part is formed such that by means of a relative movement of the housing part relative to the plug part in an opening direction, which differs from the closing direction, the plug part is pushed out of the catch and the closure element hence can be opened.

Abstract: A buckle for a child safety seat comprising a body having an opening for receiving and selectively retaining in position a tang portion of a first belt portion connector, a loop element for connecting a second belt portion, the loop element engaging the tang portion to connect the first and second belt portions, the loop element comprising a base with a pair of legs extending therefrom and abutting at distal ends at a split surface. Each leg includes an anti-spread tab extending generally perpendicularly from the leg configured to engage the opening when the buckle is operably assembled to prevent separation of the split surface and retain the loop element engaged on the tang portion. The anti-separation tabs allow separation of the split surface as the tang is partially withdrawn from the opening so that the lop portion may be disengaged from the tang by movement generally transverse to the tang.

Abstract: Buckle assemblies with swivel and dual release features and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a buckle assembly is configured to detachably engage a web connector coupled to a first web. The buckle assembly includes a support structure coupled to a first release actuator, a second release actuator, and a swivel subassembly. The buckle assembly is configured to allow a user to detach the web connector from the buckle assembly via the first and/or second release actuators. Moreover, the swivel subassembly is configured to be coupled to a second web and to prevent the second web from twisting with reference to the buckle assembly.

The buckle includes a socket member, a plug member, and a locking member. The plug member has the shoulder strap connected thereto, and is replaceably engaged with the socket member. The plug member replaceably engages in the locking member in such a manner so to be released therefrom, the locking member is released and the plug member has to be pulled in a direction opposite to that in which tension from the shoulder strap is exerted so as to prevent the unintentional release of the quick-release buckle when the tension is exerted by shoulder strap, while the tension exerted by the shoulder strap when the plug member is engaged in the locking member assures unintentional release of the quick-release buckle.

The buckle body includes an insert groove having two upwardly facing openings, two stop portions, and a resilient pressing arm. The first retainers are inserted into the insert groove via the openings, respectively. Each of the first retainers includes a resilient retaining plate biased to a retaining position to prevent removal of the corresponding first retainer from the buckle body. Each of the resilient retaining plates is removable from the retaining position. When the resilient pressing arm is pressed, each of the resilient retaining plates is removed from the retaining position by the resilient pressing arm.

Abstract: A housing assembly for twin latching mechanisms. The housing assembly includes two handles that can be pivoted to separately unlatch two belt connectors. The latching mechanisms are positioned within the housing such that when the handles are pivoted upwardly, their leading edges engage plunger mechanisms associated with the latching mechanisms. By engaging the plunger mechanisms, individual latches are disengaged and the associated belt connectors are ejected. A flange interconnects the two handles such that one or both handles are pivoted depending upon which handle is lifted by the operator. The housing provides a secure enclosure for the latch mechanisms and also shields the working components from the environment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a buckle device used in child seats of a baby carriage or high chair, comprising first and second waist-strap adjusting device, first and second plug for waist-strap, first and second shoulder strap-coupling device, a socket and a release button. Each of the first and second plugs for waist-strap includes a arm that can be inserted into the socket. Each of the plugs has, in between the arms, a resilient tongue that can be inserted into the socket. The socket has a hole for receiving the release button, and has resilient legs at the bottom thereof so that the release button may maintain in position. The release button includes cavities at both sides thereof for receiving the arms. The release button further includes inclined surfaces corresponding to the resilient tongue between the cavities. When the release button is pressed, the inclined surfaces will exert a force on the resilient tongue to eject the plug from the socket.

The system includes a four-point seat belt restraint system mounted on a vehicle seat that includes a first lap belt portion having a back side, a second lap belt portion having a back side. A portion of at least one of the back side of the first lap belt portion or the back side of the second lap belt portion has a contour which substantially corresponds to the contour of the lap of the seated vehicle occupant. The contour is defined by a convex surface. Each of the buckle portion and the tongue portion may include a button release.

Abstract: A fastening element is provided for an end area of a first strap of an item of corsetry, particularly of women's undergarments. The fastening element is to be fastened to a second strap of the item of corsetry and has an number of strap plies of which at least one strap ply has a fastening part such as at least one hook, one eye or the like. Comfort of wear is improved for a fastening element of this type with a padding provided between two strap plies. This padding is attached to at least one of the strap plies by joining it near the lateral edges of the fastening element. When the fastening element is in use, the fastening is located, at least in part, between strap plies of the fastening element.

Abstract: A coupling device for restraining belts, particularly for children's safety seats for motor-vehicles, which includes a body intended to be connected to at least one belt branch and a pair of tongue elements intended to be connected to respective belt branches, each tongue element including an attachment portion for connection with the respective belt branch and a stem portion arranged to be received and locked in the body and forming a catch tooth for locking the tongue element in the body. Abstract: An improved pony bottle bracket that is light weight, compact, simple to use, and facilitates a quick and easy set-up is disclosed. A push button latch enables a diver to quickly disconnect the pony bottle from the main bottle. The pony tank bracket and base unit bracket are mounted by use of a belt and adjustable band straps. The locking mechanism is self-contained, thereby eliminating or minimizing the use of separate components (e.g., no clevis, hitch, cotter or quick release pins) which may be lost. The bracket also eliminates or reduces the use of any items which may entangle the diver or entangle other objects in the diver's surroundings (e.g., no string, cord, chain or lanyards). The bracket is bidirectional (e.g., reversible) such that the top bracket mount may be rotated between about 0 and 180 degrees.

Abstract: A buckle for use with infant seats and the like having a release button slideably mounted within a hollow buckle housing for simultaneously releasing a pair of male buckle members latched in the housing. A bottom bar is slideably mounted into the housing and provided with locking hooks received within openings provided in the housing for permanently locking the bottom bar to the housing. The bottom bar and male projection members are provided with openings for webbing belts. The housing has integral guide ribs for guiding the male members and bottom bar when inserted into the housing to ensure proper insertion and alignment in the housing. All of the members of the buckle assembly are preferably molded of a suitable plastic material.

Abstract: A molded thermoplastic body is formed with a rectangular cavity. A molded thermoplastic insert is welded to the body in the cavity and has a top cross member, a stem member and a bottom member. The stem member has a plurality of molded fingers cantilevered on opposing sides inclined relative to the stem member longitudinal axis in one embodiment. The stem member forms the cavity into two channels. A wire shackle which may be round or square in section, a wire or molded plastic, is U-shaped with two legs. One leg is formed with notches to receive the tips of the fingers in one channel and the other leg is formed with a reversibly bent barb which engages the fingers in the other channel on the opposite side of the cavity. The bottom member limits the insertion depth of the legs. The notches and barb engage the fingers and lock the shackle to the body.

Abstract: A buckle mechanism comprises a female portion and at least one male portion adapted to be received within the cavity of the female portion. The male portion has a base, a central leg with a catch and a locking tab. The locking tab seats in the locking slot when the male portion is inserted into the female portion. There is a center button mechanism mounted in the female portion and having a center push button, a spring connected to the center push button and/or to a spring base and at least one flexible leg connected to the spring base. The flexible leg has a catch that interlocks with the catch on the male portion when the male portion is inserted into the female portion. When the center push button is depressed, the spring compresses and causes the flexible leg to bend and release the catch on the male portion so that the male portion is ejected from the female portion when the locking tab is depressed sufficiently to clear the locking slot.

Abstract: A five-way buckle for a harness system having two shoulder straps, two waist straps and a crotch strap, comprises a center base section having at least one female buckle receptacle, and at least one male buckle section. The male buckle section has a bar for threading a waist belt therethrough and a male buckle portion adapted for releasable locking engagement with the female buckle receptacle on the center base section. There is at least one D-ring formed by a ring portion disposed on the male buckle section and a second ring portion disposed on the center base section. The free ends of the two ring portions meet to form the D-ring when the male buckle section is locked to the center base section. This D-ring is used to secure a shoulder strap to the buckle assembly. The shoulder strap is then immediately released when the male section is removed from the center base section, which causes the ring portions to separate.

Abstract: A buckle system and mechanism for use in a seat belt vehicle restraint system which provides an interlock for ensuring that the occupant has the correct web position for the lap and shoulder belt portions of a three-point seat belt system. This buckle system permits only one tongue to be inserted in the interlock at a time. Moreover, the insertion of one tongue causes the ejection of the other tongue. Once placed into use, this invention ensures that one of the tongues is latched.

Abstract: The present invention provides a buckle assembly which includes a first tongue, a second tongue, and a socket having a cavity for receiving at least a portion of the first tongue and second tongue. Each tongue includes a tongue coupling member which operates to register the first tongue and second tongue to be inserted into the socket simultaneously. Alternatively, the first tongue and second tongue may be inserted separately wherein the tongue coupling member allows the tongues to be slid relative to one another thereby facilitating individual insertion of the first tongue and the second tongue. In addition, the buckle assembly includes a securement member having a button on each tongue. Both the button on the first tongue and the button on the second tongue must be simultaneously actuated to eject the tongues from the socket. Further, the buckle assembly provides a first slot, a second slot, and a third slot configured to receive a corresponding belt.

Abstract: A side release buckle having an improved locking mechanism includes a male plug member and a female socket member. The plug member has a pair of resiliently flexible arm members. Each arm member includes a recess or notch disposed along the central longitudinal axis of the arm member which is adapted to engage a tooth arranged in a corresponding position in the socket member when the plug member is fully inserted into the socket member. Since the engagement or retaining force between the recess and the tooth lies along the central longitudinal axis of the arm members, this force directly opposes the load force on the buckle which acts to separate the two buckle pieces. Because of the proper positioning and arrangement of the recess and the tooth, the load force and the retaining force are aligned along the same axis, thereby providing increased holding power.

Abstract: A seat belt buckle assembly is provided for alternate engagement by either a seat belt latch plate of a seat belt for restraining an adult occupant upon the occupant seat, or by a hook mounted on the end of an auxiliary child restraint belt to restrain a child seat upon the occupant seat. The seat belt buckle comprises a housing having a slot receiving an anchor belt passing therethrough to mount the buckle on the vehicle. The buckle has a conventional push button operated latch arrangement adapted to latchingly receive the latch plate connected to the adult restraint belt. In addition, an anchor plate having an aperture therethrough for receiving the hook of a child seat restraint belt is provided and has a slot which also receives the anchor belt passing through the slot of the buckle whereby the anchor plate is effectively coupled to the buckle by the anchor belt and the anchor belt is effective to alternately connect the seat belt latch plate or the child restraint belt with the vehicle.

The coupling strip is adapted to interconnect the ends of the pliable sheet to form a cylindrically-shaped unit. The ends of the pliable sheet are formed to include flukes that are configured to engage the coupling strip. The coupling strip includes a rigid base member and a spaced-apart, substantially parallel seesaw member. The seesaw member is joined to the base member by a pivot beam. The seesaw member has a first leg and a second leg, with the first and second legs cooperating with the base member to form first and second nests for receiving the flukes of the pliable sheet. The seesaw member is permitted to pivot somewhat with respect to the base member to equalize the capturing forces of the first and second nests to enhance the strength and rigidity of the assembled sleeve assembly.

Two fastener members inserted from opposite sides of the flanges project through the flanges and core and lock with each other. The fasteners are hermaphroditic in nature, each fastener member having a male and a female latching member. Abstract: Lock for safety belts having at least two hip strap parts and two shoulder strap parts, said lock comprising a lock housing to be attached to one hip strap part and enclosing a manually releasable lock mechanism (18), a lock tongue (11) to be attached to the other hip strap part, which can be inserted into an insert opening in the lock housing for co-operation with the lock mechanism, and a fitting (12; 13) for each shoulder strap part to be connected with the lock housing and the lock tongue by these elements being mutually lockingly engaged. In the lock housing there is provided a blocking shoulder (41, 42) which is spring-biased to project partly into the insert opening so as to prevent insertion of the lock tongue to engage the lock mechanism.
