  • Patent number: 11388960
Abstract: A snap button includes a male component and a female component which couple and uncouple as a result of effort in a main axial direction. The male component has a base from which there protrudes a rounded head, which is provided with a neck which is narrower than the head. The female component has a hollow body with an opening within which the head of the male component is introduced. Two flexible bars of a plastics material are mounted in the hollow body, the flexible bars having the ends thereof blocked. The distance between the central zones of the two flexible bars is lower than the dimension of the head of the male component so that they can be flexibly forced away from each other by a force exerted by the head of the male component and to resiliently move back towards each other when the force stops.

  • Patent number: 10966490
Abstract: A female button is in an unlocked state when a rotator takes a first position and is in a locked state when the rotator takes a second position, insertion and removal of a post of a male button being allowed in the unlocked state, and insertion and removal of the post of the male button being hindered in the locked state. Arresting part or elastic member is provided with a projection which, when the rotator rotates toward the second position, displaces the arresting part toward the rotational axis before the rotator reaches the second position and, if the displacement of the arresting part toward the rotational axis is obstructed by the post, rotational resistance of the rotator is increased.

  • Patent number: 6925691
Abstract: An ergonomic, non-recoiling belt worn lower abdominal pouch stays securely in place without bouncing and recoiling, and is secure from theft. The lower abdominal pouch includes a front panel joined at a bottom edge thereof and along two side edges to a rear panel, forming an open pocket therebetween with a top entry. Each panel is made of a flexible fabric or other synthetic or natural substrate material, such as canvas, leather and the like. The lower abdominal pouch is carried upon the wearer by being supported by the wearer's belt, which belt slides into a rear wall of the lower abdominal pouch, through a vertically extending button hole slot thereof and exits at a second button hole slot of a preferable outer rear wall in front of a preferable inner rear wall of the rear panel, thereby optionally providing a seal between the outer rear wall having the two open button hole slots for accommodating the user's belt therein.

  • Patent number: 6138333
Abstract: An earring includes a pin adapted to pass through a hole pierced in an ear or other body part. The pin has an enlarged, decorative end thereon which rests against one side of the ear with the pin extending through the hole in the ear, and a clutch which fits over the opposite end of the pin and rests against the opposite side of the ear to hold the earring therein. The clutch includes a spring for receiving the pin therein and having a reduced inside diameter intermediate turn thereof which is stretched by the pin as it passes therethrough. There is at least one circumferential receiving groove in the pin to receive and hold the reduced inside diameter spring turn. Thus, the clutch may be positioned so that the reduced inside diameter turn is received in one of the at least one grooves. This resists movement of the clutch along the pin. With multiple grooves the grooves are positioned along the pin so that for each groove, the earring comfortably fits a different size ear.

  • Patent number: 6109658
Abstract: A book holder is disclosed which addresses the unique and heretofore unresolved needs of readers of paperback pocketbooks. In its simplest form, the holder consists of two pieces interlocked so that they are capable of sliding lengthwise in relation to one another. One end of each piece is formed so that when the device is laid upon any flat surface and extended to its most open position, and open paperback pocketbook may be laid face up on top, then the device slid closed to such a position that the formed ends cup over the open pages on opposite sides, thus restraining same for easy viewing. The device includes a detent so as to prevent sliding out of the interlock and falling apart, yet this detent needs be such that it can be overcome with reasonable hand force to allow cleaning or removal of foreign objects.

  • Patent number: 4706342
Abstract: A paper clip formed in one piece comprises: a top member with an opening, a bottom member having a lower portion and a tilted upper portion integrally connected by a joint portion at their front ends, and a web portion integrally connected the top member and the lower portion of the bottom member at their rear ends. The upper portion of the bottom member is confined within the opening of the top member and is located in substantially the same plane as is the top member whenever the clip is not being used. The upper portion of the bottom member is resiliently bendable toward the lower portion, and the top and bottom member are resiliently separable to receive and hold papers between substantially the entire bodies of the top member and the upper portion of the bottom members. The paper clip has a unique characteristic of distributing a uniform clamping force to the top and bottom members by constantly maintaining a parallel relationship between the top member and the upper portion of the bottom member.

  • Patent number: 4706344
Abstract: A button assembly includes a hollow button body having a garment-engaging base portion through which a shank of an eyelet is inserted into the botton body for being staked on the base portion to join the button body with the eyelet. The base portion includes a plurality of retaining ribs projecting into the interior of the button body for retaining thereon an annular curled edge of the shank when the eyelet is axially compressed. The ribs stiffen the base portion and increases the effective thickness of the base portion with the result that the shank can be joined with the button body by a relatively small rivetting force because the end portion of the shank to be deformed becomes short. With the interiorly projecting ribs, the base portion has a planar outer surface engageable flatwise against a garment fabric so that the button assembly can be attached neatly onto the garment fabric without any damage or wrinkles on the garment fabric around the button assembly.

  • Patent number: 4631929
Abstract: A clutch for securing together component parts of jewelry such as decorative pins, clasps, earrings, necklaces, brooches, and so forth. The coacting body and pin construction herein has a lost-motion detent, whereby to provide for adjustable attachment to ear lobes, clothing, and so forth, of varying thicknesses. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the lost-motion effect is constrained by sliding frictional engagement between complete turns of a coil spring provided in said body, and the shank of the pin and the detent effect is maintained simultaneously by a radially inturned end of the spring extending into the annular groove on the shank. The groove is wider than the inturned end, allowing for movement thereof longitudinally of the pin without disengagement.

Abstract: An apparatus for clamping a pad of large papers to an upright support includes a back support adapted to mount to the upright support and a clamping member pivotally mounted to the back support and movable with respect to the back support between an open position for insertion of the paper pad between the back support and clamping member, and a closed position in which the clamping member clamps the paper pad against the back support. An elongated, extruded aluminum alloy spring is connected between the clamping member and back support for locking the clamping member in both the open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4532680
Abstract: The present invention relates to a double clip for office use comprising a clip main body of metal spring sheet bent into an isosceles triangular cross-section, and operating levers of metal wire tiltably and pivotally connected to the clip main body so as to open the apex against the spring force, wherein index caps of synthetic resin serving as knobs are removably fitted on the bent front ends of the levers, thereby providing the double clip itself with an index indicating function in connection with filing and subsequent withdrawal of documents to facilitate the handling of documents while using the index caps as knobs to open and close the clip main body without giving pain to the finger tips of the user.

One or both of the jaws is formed with a thin planar land such that the land and jaw are formed as a single piece thereby monolithically to define a plate-like clamping plane. A resilient element maintains the jaws in a given alignment and causes the jaws to exert a clamping pressure. Each planar face of the plate-like clamping plane provides a means on which the advertising indicia is placed.
