  • Patent number: 6446466
Abstract: An interchangeable jewelry system based on a simple and secure two part coupling device which is a combination of a male prong containing a hook and a snap, and a specifically designed female soleplate having a curved substructure. The shape of this special soleplate guides the prong to a point at which it can be lifted to engage the hook, and rotated to engage the snap. The size and shape of the prong relative to the specific design of the soleplate structure prevents it from being disengaged while being worn. The elements of the coupling device are an integral part of, and incorporated into, the back sides of a wide variety of jewelry elements, resulting in a coupling invisible from the front or the sides of the assembled item of jewelry, the ultimate effect being that of an unalterable entity. All elements in a collection, having these same components, are interchangeable in a countless number of combinations.

  • Patent number: 6141841
Abstract: An add-a-bag assembly for luggage has a base attached to a top wall of the luggage and a buckle that is detachably received on the base. The base has a buckle-receiving portion defined by spaced-apart side walls, each of which has a front overhanging abutment surface that slopes downwardly and rearwardly from a front upper surface. A retainer boss projects laterally from each side wall of the buckle and engages one of the overhanging abutment surfaces of the side wall. Releasable rear locking surfaces on the base and the buckle located rearwardly of the bosses and overhanging abutment surfaces engage each other so as to prevent translatory forward movement of the buckle relative to the base and maintain the bosses on the buckle in engagement under the overhanging abutment surfaces of the base. Tab and slot detents latch the buckle in place. A strap is secured to the rear edge of the body portion of the buckle and is adapted to be joined to an article that is piggybacked on the luggage.

  • Patent number: 5005268
Abstract: A novel closure or buckle for a band as might be used as a watchband, a bracelet, a necklace, or like article is disclosed. The closure requires no springs, biasing devices, nor snugly fitting members to remain closed. The closure employs a keyhole-type slot to receive a linking member and features a slide element engaged by the linking member within the keyhole slot, which slide element follows the inserted linking member as it slides into the narrow end of the slot thereby blocking the larger end of the slot to provide a smooth appearance to the closure in its latched position.

  • Patent number: 4717199
Abstract: Motor vehicle roof with a roof opening which can be closed by a cover that can slide and preferably be pivoted out. The underside of the cover is covered by a headlining, which, close to the cover front edge, is joined to the cover by at least one mounting device. The mounting device allows a height adjustment of the cover without affecting a flush-lifting of the headlining against a fixed roof frame bounding the roof opening. The mounting device includes an essentially vertical mounting pin and a catch clip that, by a relative movement in an essentially horizontal direction, can be brought to engage with each other. The catch clip in the engaged condition can be freely moved a limited distance with respect to the drive pin in the direction of the pin axis and can be freely tilted a limited angle with respect to the drive pin, as well as being swingable into a position permitting unobstructed upholstering of the headlining frame.

  • Patent number: 4638534
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel pivot structure for a seat belt buckle wherein a base plate of a seat belt buckle is connected to an anchor stay by way of a pin and spring means interposed therebetween in such a manner that the buckle may pivot relative to the anchor stay about the pin along the major surface of the anchor stay and, additionally, away from the major surface. The spring means biases the buckle toward a neutral position in which the buckle aligns with the axial line of the anchor stay. Thus, the seat belt buckle is maintained in a relatively rigid state relative to the anchor stay so that a tongue plate may be easily aimed and inserted thereinto. However, once the seat belt is securely fastened by the engagement of the tongue plate and the seat belt buckle, the buckle may pivot in any direction relative to the anchor stay and therefore will readily bend to conform to the body of the person wearing the seat belt and improve the comfort in wearing the seat belt.
