Abstract: A flexible fastener includes a plurality of arrays of studs engaged with complimentary arrays of rings. The studs of each array are connected to diagonally adjacent studs via arms adjoining the stem of the stud. Interstitial recesses defined by the arms and stems are sized and configured to engage with the heads of studs on an engaging fastener piece. In embodiments, the fastener provides high tensile strength, continuous adjustment in two directions, and improved comfort when used in a garment. In some embodiments the fastener includes features which ensure alignment between pieces.

Abstract: A fastening device and a fastening system including two fastening devices. The fastening device includes a first part having a first engaging side and a second part having a second engaging side, and at least two sets of individual engaging members configured to engage each other. Each set of engaging members includes a hook member and a locking member. The hook member protrudes from the first engaging side and has an engagement side from which a hook protrudes. The locking member is pivotably connected to the second part and extends into a recess in the second engaging side. The recess is adapted to receive the hook member for engagement with the locking member, and the locking member is configured to pivot towards the hook member when the hook member is in engagement with the locking member and a force is applied from the hook member on the locking member.

Abstract: A fastening apparatus includes a first part comprising a plurality of first projections and a plurality of first holes. A washer part comprises a plurality of second holes corresponding to the plurality of first projections and a plurality of openings corresponding to the plurality of first holes. The washer part and the first part are positioned on a first side of a first material of a product. A second part having a plurality of second projections is positioned on a second side of the first material. Each of the plurality of second projections penetrates a respective opening of the washer part, wherein penetration by each second projection of the corresponding opening causes a deformation of a portion of a second material of the washer part proximate to the corresponding opening.

Abstract: A button fixing member made of synthetic resin, used to fix a button having a fixing opening to a cloth, the button fixing member including a plate-like base and a post protruding from the base to a front surface side of the base. The post is deformed after it passes through the cloth and the fixing opening of the button when the button is fixed to the cloth. The post includes a cavity extending from an opening on a rear surface of the base to a closed end on the tip side of the post concentrically with the post, and a solid portion between the closed end of the cavity and the tip of the post. The axial length of the solid portion is set to be ? or more of the length of the part of the post from the front surface of the base to the tip of the post.

Abstract: An integrated rockably released leverage snap fastening system may be removably fastened to the male snap to hold at least one item such as a tarpaulin in place to a boat or the like. To facilitate unfastening, male snap and rockable lever snap assembly cooperatively combine to create a class 1 lever system which may permit a user to rockably release the snap while reducing risk of damage to the tarpaulin. Various embodiments are discussed.

Abstract: An easy-locking buckle structure is composed of a male buckle element and a female buckle element having a smaller area than that of the male buckle element. A post extends downwardly from the bottom of one end of the male buckle element for engagement with a socket with a cylinder, while an upwardly raising holding tab is provided at the other end of the male buckle element. A conical recess with a through hole is provided in the center of the female buckle element. Said conical recess is provided with slots at its sides for connecting with a socket. Holes are pre-punched on the articles to be applied with the buckle such that the post of the male buckle element can pass through and engage with the socket, while the connecting pins of the female buckle element pass through the punched holes on the article such that the conical recess with the hole can aim at and pass through the punched hole on the article before the socket under the article is locked with the female buckle element.

The mounting assembly is positioned on the fabric and a sewing machine having a slide with a pair of guide bars is positioned over the holding bars. The holding bars of the mounting assembly provide a track for the sewing base during the stitching process. The base portions of the closure elements are stitched onto the fabric. After stitching the holding arms are torn off the closure elements and discarded. The sewing base includes a pair of guide bars for guiding the sewing base along the holding bars.

Abstract: A push-button closure part including a contoured button, a metallic rivet part having a rivet shank projecting from the underside of the button and an approximately radially extending, round rivet flange. The closure part includes a push button eyelet for slipping onto the rivet shank through a central opening. The rivet shank is deformed in a shallow S-shape which causes flexible material clasped between the rivet flange and the eyelet to be pressed between the edge of the central opening of the eyelet and rivet flange and also between the surrounding outer edge of the eyelet and the rivet flange.

Each of the retainers has a pair of thin-wall parts adapted to be pierced by the pair of engaging prongs of the relevant fastener member, and leading ends of the engaging prongs of each fastener member are formed in the shape of a flat part lying in a plane substantially perpendicular to a direction of penetration of the engaging prongs into the thin-wall parts of the relevant retainer.

Abstract: The invention relates to the joining of one web, e.g. of camouflage material to a carrier net or the like with the aid of fastener devices comprising male fastener parts provided with pins or like elements which are hammered into complementary holes in female fastener parts. The female and male fastener parts are banded together by means of plastic wires moulded along the sides of the fastener parts and are separated subsequent to being brought to a fastener applying position from a respective magazine. The male fastener parts are banded with the pins positioned in the direction of the band, while the holes provided in the female fastener parts face at right angles to the band direction. The bands are advanced by means of pawl-mechanisms.

Abstract: A snap button for attachment to a garment fabric comprises a socket member, a plug member snappingly engageable therewith and a spring member accommodated in the socket. The socket member includes a cylindrical hub and a bottomless collet having an annular flange which has a plurality of ridges adapted to be folded radially inwardly over the spring and over the hub, respectively.

Abstract: A snap fastener wherein the female component has an end wall with a rim extending from one side of the end wall and a centrally located elastically deformable female coupling element provided on a frustoconical central portion of the end wall. The central portion has a concave surface at the other side of the end wall. The male component has a mushroom-shaped male coupling element which can be forced, not unlike an arrowhead, the female coupling element from the concave side of the central portion of the end wall. The force which must be applied to extract the male coupling element from the female coupling element is several times the force which is required to insert the male coupling element because the central portion of the end wall yields more readily in a direction toward the one side of the end wall.

Abstract: A hook for a hook-and-eye fastener includes a one-piece hook body having at least one pair of prongs, and a retainer having openings through which the prongs extend, respectively. The hook body includes a locking tongue and a base underlying the locking tongue, and an arcuate portion joining the locking tongue and the base, the prongs projecting substantially perpendicularly from the base in a direction away from the locking tongue. The hook body has a plurality of cold-pressed elongated recesses defined in an inner surface of the hook body and extending from the base through the arcuate portion to the locking tongue, thereby giving resilience and strength that are large enough to withstand forces tending to permanently deform the hook body at the arcuate portion. The openings in the retainer are spaced from one another by a distance which is larger than the distance between the prongs. Each of the prongs has a bent end portion retained on the retainer with a space defined therebetween.

Abstract: A tack member, which is adapted to be joined with a button body for attachment of a button to a garment fabric, has a shank composed of a tapering end portion and a stem portion. The shank has a cold-pressed recess near the tapering end portion. The tapering end portion is in the shape of a pyramid with its tip end disposed off the axis of the shank toward the recess so that the tapering end portion is bendable about the recess as its tip end is forced against the inner side of a cap of the button body during insertion of the shank into a hollow hub of the button body, during which time the stem portion opposes bending or other deformation.

Abstract: A button for being attached to a garment fabric has a button body composed of a double-walled tubular stem with an annular flange extending radially outwardly therefrom, a cap having an internal back place mounted on the annular flange, and a tack member having a central shank for penetrating the garment fabric and for extending into the tubular stem to join the tack member to the button body with the garment fabric interposed therebetween. The annular flange includes a first marginal wall flaring radially outwardly and having a plurality of radially outward projections. The cap also has a second marginal wall fitted over the first marginal wall and including a plurality of protuberances deformed radially outwardly by the projections, respectively. The projections and the protuberances are held in interlocking engagement for preventing the button body and the cap from rotating relatively to each other.

Abstract: A snap fastener and method of attaching the same to a section of sheet material are disclosed. The snap fastener comprises an operative component and a securing component, both of these components being formed of plastics material. The operative component has a base wall with an opening therethrough and a tubular portion including a snap engaging portion formed thereon surrounds the opening and projects from one side of the base wall. The securing component has a pin and a cap flange at one end thereof, the pin being adapted to pass through the opening of the operative component so that the terminal end portion of the pin is located beyond the side of the base wall from which the tubular portion projects. The terminal end portion of the pin is deformable when so located relative to the operative component so as to secure the two components against separation. At least a peripheral portion of the cap flange slopes outwardly in a direction towards the terminal end of the pin.

Abstract: A fastening for use on a garment comprises a base, and at least two flat spikes initially projecting from the base for being pierced through the garment into apertures of a hasp, and then for being deflected into a clenched condition against the hasp, there being at least two cold-pressed grooves each opening into an outer surface of the fastening and extending longitudinally thereof across a shoulder or joint between the base and a respective one of the spikes. The fastening accordingly has a greater hardness in a region around the grooves than at other regions thereof so that the fastening is resistant to bending or other deformation around the grooves when the spikes are pierced and clenched.

Abstract: A tack member, which is adapted to be joined with a button body for attachment of a button to a garment fabric, has a shank of a hollow and solid combined structure. The shank is composed of a tapering hollow end portion and a solid base portion. The hollow end portion is deformable into a balloon-like shape, radially swelled and axially compressed, as its tip end is forced against a cap of the button body on its inner side during insertion of the shank into a hollow hub of the button body, during which time the solid base portion opposes bending or other deformation.

Abstract: An attaching device for attaching a socket member of a snap fastener to a garment has a post having a circular flange extending from a cylindrical stem and a cap mounted thereon. The circular flange has a central portion, an intermediate inclined annular step, a radially outwardly extending annular shoulder, and a plurality of radial ribs extending radially outwardly from an end of the stem to the inclined annular step. The central portion of the flange has a surface adjacent to the inclined annular step which is held against a rounded wall of the cap. The end of the post is axially spaced from the rounded wall of the cap to provide a clearance therebetween. The annular shoulder of the flange is locked in position by an annular curled rim of the cap. Any impact force applied when the attaching device is staked on the socket member is distributed uniformly to the flange, preventing the cap from being deformed.

Abstract: Fastener intended for canvas comprising a sleeve (10) with a tubular portion (11) which is intended to extend through a hole in the canvas material (22), also a flange portion (12,24) on each side of the material. Between these flange portions there is canvas material with an area around the said hole where a ring-shaped surface is arranged to press against the surface of the material so that a friction connection is formed. The surface, which is preferably located on a separate ring (1), is provided with projections which are arranged to be pressed into the material (22) under the influence of the force from the flange portions so that the positive connection is furthermore formed. A supporting ring (17) is arranged to be present on the opposite side of the material (22) as related to the surface provided with projections.
