Abstract: An ultra-slim fastener for a garment includes male and female parts engagable by inclining the male part while inserting a foot into a cavity of the female part, and pivoting the parts to a co-planar orientation. The female has a roof thickness, and the foot may be offset by at least the roof thickness. The male and female may include flanges which have a symmetrical appearance when engaged. The male and female may include a plurality of protrusions distributed throughout a weld region for welding the parts to a garment piece. Features of the fastener improve tensile strength, increase flexibility, and improve comfort.

Abstract: A respiratory mask system is provided. The respiratory mask system has a patient interface that is secured to a user's head by a headgear. The patient interface includes a seal, a frame and a gas delivery conduit. The frame is configured to secure the seal and gas delivery conduit together. The frame includes a recessed channel and/or headgear retaining features configured to connect the headgear to the patient interface. The frame can include an inlet collar that connects to a gas delivery conduit. The inlet collar can include bias flow holes. The headgear includes a top strap, a pair of side arms, a yoke and a rear strap. The yoke is configured to connect to the recessed channel of the frame. The top strap, side arms and yoke form an integrally formed closed loop. The top strap can include two portions adjustably connected to each other.

Abstract: A layered composite assembly may include a plurality of composite fiber layers stacked onto one another. Each of the plurality of composite fiber layers may include a main body including a plurality of composite fibers. The main body may be pre-impregnated with at least one resin. Each composite fiber layer also includes a plurality of layer-securing pins secured to the main body. The layer-securing pins are configured to mechanically connect the main body to an adjacent composite fiber layer.

Abstract: A snap button has a female portion formed from a cap and a socket that are connected together with a piece of fabric in between. The cap is formed from a base body having a circumferential flange with interruptions therein so that the flange can be bent outward during assembly. The socket is formed by a disc having a central aperture and a peripheral rim, as well as an annular insert disposed within the socket. The cap is connected to the socket by pressing the socket onto the cap until the flange bends around the annular insert to anchor the cap to the socket with the fabric trapped between. A male portion having a stud is connected to the female portion by snapping the stud into the socket such that the stud extends entirely through the socket and into the cap.

Abstract: A fastener (2) for securing a workpiece comprising a plurality of workpiece members, said fastener comprising a shank (4) and a radially enlarged head (6), wherein the fastener further comprises axial voids (40) and splines (18) provided on the internal wall of the bore of the fastener, such that when the fastener is installed into a workpiece by a mandrel, breakstem or pin, once the shank of the fastener has contacted with the walls of the workpiece apertures, the crests of the splines are deformed by the mandrel, breakstem or pin, and material of the crests is displaced into the voids.

Abstract: A device, namely a detactable fastener accessory that can be used to cover a fastener, preferably a snap cover of an article of clothing, the accessory having or adapted to have a decorative cover piece connected thereto. In a further embodiment, the fastener accessory is part of an extender system that allows an article of clothing such as a vest or jacket to have a greater size by connecting an extension segment, such as a chain, piece of leather or other fabric, between fasteners on opposite sides of the article of clothing, which at least provides the advantages of allowing a user to achieve better ventilation or airflow while riding a motorcycle and also prevents the article of clothing from being blown out of a desired position. When used in the extender system, the fastener accessory allows for matching decorative pieces to be displayed on each side of the article of clothing.

Abstract: The handle end portions are attached to the tray by separate connectors. The tray has spaced openings to receive the connectors. Each connector has an anchor-shaped section which is received in a tray opening and a section which engages a handle end portion. The anchor-shaped section has arms which flex to permit the connector to be received in the tray opening and thereafter return to their extended position to cooperate with the tray to securely attach the connector to the tray and prevent free rotation of the connector. The handle engaging section includes a hook-shaped member which is received an opening in the handle end portion.

Abstract: A detachable decoration system including a first releasably interlockable fastener permanently connected to an article to be decorated and second releasably interlockable fastener permanently connected to a decoration adapted to selectively interlock with the first fastener. Once the interlockable fasteners are disengaged, the decoration is wholly disconnected from the article, thus permitting the article to be washed without damaging the decoration.

Abstract: A hook for a hook-and-eye fastener includes a one-piece hook body having at least one pair of prongs, and a retainer having openings through which the prongs extend, respectively. The hook body includes a locking tongue and a base underlying the locking tongue, and an arcuate portion joining the locking tongue and the base, the prongs projecting substantially perpendicularly from the base in a direction away from the locking tongue. The hook body has a plurality of cold-pressed elongated recesses defined in an inner surface of the hook body and extending from the base through the arcuate portion to the locking tongue, thereby giving resilience and strength that are large enough to withstand forces tending to permanently deform the hook body at the arcuate portion. The openings in the retainer are spaced from one another by a distance which is larger than the distance between the prongs. Each of the prongs has a bent end portion retained on the retainer with a space defined therebetween.

Abstract: A fastening for use on a garment comprises a base, and at least two flat spikes initially projecting from the base for being pierced through the garment into apertures of a hasp, and then for being deflected into a clenched condition against the hasp, there being at least two cold-pressed grooves each opening into an outer surface of the fastening and extending longitudinally thereof across a shoulder or joint between the base and a respective one of the spikes. The fastening accordingly has a greater hardness in a region around the grooves than at other regions thereof so that the fastening is resistant to bending or other deformation around the grooves when the spikes are pierced and clenched.
