The method includes the following steps: manufacturing a functional element by providing a plate-type base element and integrally bonding a ball or a ball-shaped element to the plate-type base element, in particular by welding a ball or a ball-shaped element onto a flat plate-type element, and joining the functional element to a first component.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for attaching an item to a substrate, using a prong ring with a ring and two or more prongs. When attached, the prongs extends from the ring on a first side of the substrate through such substrate and being bent. A lower die is positioned to approach the first side of the substrate. An upper die is on a second side of the substrate. The substrate is placed in a manner substantially perpendicular to the attaching movement of the upper and lower dies and a first redirecting member for redirecting the prongs which are bent inwardly. The first redirecting member cooperates with an abutting member positioned along the approach of the prong ring towards the first side of the substrate for inhibiting movement of the prong ring towards the substrate while the first redirecting member is used.

Abstract: Disclosed is a snap fastener, comprising a face fastener (1) and a locating fastener (2) which are snapped with each other, wherein the face fastener (1) comprises a face shell (11) provided with an installation chamber (111), and a locating pin (12) made of plastic and integrally formed; and the locating pin (12) comprises a base (121), a rod body (122) and anti-rotation protrusions (125). In the implementation of the snap fastener of the present invention, the face fastener (1) can be separated into the face shell (11) and the locating pin (12), and the locating pin (12) is manufactured into a standard part for batch production and storage, thereby adapting face shells (11) with continuously updated designs, shortening delivery time, and reducing costs.

Between these flange portions there is canvas material with an area around the said hole where a ring-shaped surface is arranged to press against the surface of the material so that a friction connection is formed. The surface, which is preferably located on a separate ring (1), is provided with projections which are arranged to be pressed into the material (22) under the influence of the force from the flange portions so that the positive connection is furthermore formed.
