Abstract: An attachment system for coupling together two airplane sections includes an attachment section securing one of the airplane sections and a mount section affixed to the other section. The attachment section includes a top, a bottom, a first end, and a second end. Coupled to the top are two clamp sections, whereby at least one of the clamp sections is moveable. Coupled to the bottom is a pair of buttons. The mount section includes a top and a bottom, such that the mount bottom couples to the second airplane section. The mount section further includes a track coupled to the mount top, wherein the track includes an open end having outwardly tapered edges and a closed end. The one of the buttons slides into the track for coupling the attachment section to the mount section.

Abstract: A self-locking fastener includes a base member and a clip member. The base member includes a buckle base, a buckle point and a buckle pin. The clip member includes a plurality of resilient locking arms disposed toward one side thereof. When the clip member is coupled to the base member, the buckle point of the base member extends out along the resilient locking arms. The resilient locking arms are fitted on the buckle pin. Free ends of the resilient locking arms lean against the inner end of the buckle point to stop the buckle point from sliding out along the resilient locking arms. Through the resilient locking arms and the buckle point, the free ends of the resilient locking arms are to lean against the inner end of the buckle point to achieve a self-locking connection of the base member and the clip member. The structure of present invention is simple. When packing a product, the two sheets of material are only required to have holes.

Abstract: A fastener system is implemented to assemble a fabric element with a frame structure of a nursery device for supporting a baby occupant. The fastener system includes a first connecting structure joined with the fabric element and configured to complementarily mate with a second connecting structure having a protrusion extending along a support beam of the frame structure. The first connecting structure includes a flat affixing portion joined with an edge of the fabric element, and an engaging catch linked with the affixing portion through a joint portion. The second connecting structure complementarily mates within the engaging catch of the first connecting structure to fasten the fabric element with the support beam.

Abstract: A clasp for releasably fastening two objects is disclosed. The clasp includes a male member and a female member. The female member includes a displaceable member that is movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the displaceable member precludes insertion of the male member into or removal of the male member from the female member. In the second position, the male member may be inserted into or removed from the female member. Alternatively, the clasp may include two objects that each contain both male and female parts.

Abstract: A child carrier with a side buckle and ventilation features. The buckle includes a male portion and a female portion. The male portion of the buckle is shaped to mate with the female portion simply and easily, yet securely attaches the side portion of the carrier to the front/strap portion of the carrier. The buckle is robust, yet easy to use and does not easily disengage without a deliberate movement by the wearer thereof. The ventilation features provide comfort to the child carried in the carrier as well as the wearer thereof and are comprised of a ventilation panel that may be open, releasably closed, or accessed through a slit.

Abstract: An adjustable fastener includes a male part and a female part, both of which are preferably made of soft pliable, sewable plastic. The female fastener part preferably has two or more spaced apart openings. Each having a broad portion and a narrow portion. The male fastener part has a base with an upstanding riser with a flange at the end of the riser. The female fastener part is made of a single thin wall which is sewn to the fabric of the garment. The base of the male part is also made of a single thin wall which is sewn to the fabric of the garment. The single wall construction of the female fastener part makes it more flexible, less easily seen, and not felt so much by the wearer. The female fastener part is provided with a bend between the openings so that it lies flat against the back when the male and female parts are coupled to the tightest position. The center of the riser of the male part is offset from the center of the flange.

Abstract: A fastener for joining trim pieces to a motor vehicle includes a metal insert molded into an elastomeric body of a fastener. An anti-rotational rib prevents excessive rotation of the fastener after installation. Oppositely extending flexible wings of the metal insert are spaced from each other to allow full deflection upon insert of the fastener without interference between the flexible wings. Protective guards formed at distal ends of a pair of support legs provide improved insertion alignment for the fastener as well as protection between the fastener and metal surfaces of the vehicle. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, a dog house assembly is provided having aperture and slots mating with the installation features of the silver plate fastener. In still another embodiment, a method for installing a silver plate molding into a vehicle using a fastener of the present disclosure is provided.

Abstract: A clasp for releasably fastening two objects is disclosed. The clasp includes a male member and a female member. The female member includes a displaceable member that is movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the displaceable member precludes insertion of the male member into or removal of the male member from the female member. In the second position, the male member may be inserted into or removed from the female member. Alternatively, the clasp may include two objects that each contain both male and female parts. Interchangeable jewelry pieces comprising the clasp and a method for removably securing two jewelry pieces are also disclosed.

Abstract: There is provided an improved tab member for a closure system comprising a tab portion and a slot member. The slot member includes a slit or a loop, with the slot located between an inboard portion and an outboard portion. The tab portion has a tab member having a length, an inner edge, an outer edge and at least one lip portion. The tab member outer edge is passed through the slot of the slot member to engage the fastening device. Once passed through the slot, at least one lip portion of the tab member overlaps or catches the outboard portion of the slot member to prevent the tab member from disengaging from the slot member. The slot member outward portion is retained between the lip portion(s) and the underlying generally flexible tab carrier substrate.

The button receiver has a tapered interference fit slot terminating in a notch for receiving the fastener button, the slot narrowing towards the edge of the flap attached to the shell. The fastening system also includes a pouch attached to the shell, a locking channel attached to the pouch, and a locking groove attached to the shell. The pouch has an edge that forms an opening between the pouch and the shell, and the locking channel engages the locking groove in an interference fit to close the opening.

Abstract: A buckle structure includes a foldable main body, two first movable connectors for fastening a first shoulder strap, and two second movable connectors for fastening a second shoulder strap. The main body is provided at one end with two first retaining holes, and at the other end with two second retaining holes. The first movable connectors are provided with a connection shaft having a retaining slot. The second movable connectors are provided with a connection shaft having a retaining projection. The first movable connectors are movably retained in the first retaining holes of the main body while the second movable connectors are movably retained in the second retaining holes of the main body. The retaining projection of the connection shaft of the second movable connectors is removably retained in the retaining slot of the connection shaft of the first movable connectors at the time when the main body is folded.

Abstract: A one-hand operated strap buckle capable of withstanding high forces and yet simple to operate and easily connected to a post and disconnected from a post. In a preferred embodiment, the buckle comprises upper and lower cases, the latter forming a slot for receiving a post with a flat head. When connected to a post, the buckle is secured to the post by a pair of swing arms terminating at locking hooks. The position of the swing arms is normally closed, but may be readily altered to an open position by a pair of opposed spring-loaded release tabs which when compressed toward one another, open the swing arms and separate the locking hooks. The buckle of the invention also comprises a strap release which is spring-loaded and normally engages the teeth of a strap by employing a spring-loaded catch which can be rotated away from the strap with tilting of the strap release around a fulcrum bearing.

The coupling device has a first coupling part assigned to the lifting element and a second coupling part assigned to the harness cord. The coupling parts execute a radial relative movement during coupling and uncoupling. The coupling device provides for rotational alignment of the two coupling parts with one another. At least one coupling part is assigned or capable of being assigned a rotational alignment mechanism. The coupling device is used in a system which rapidly connects and disconnects many connectors at the same time.

Abstract: An office-type chair, having separate seat and back parts each cushioned and employing a thin inner plastic shell having a perforated central region formed as a thin membrane which is supported solely around the peripheral edge thereof by a suitable ringlike support frame. This membrane is semi-rigid in the plane thereof, but possesses at least limited resiliency in the thickness direction and, being free of direct underlying support, provides direct support for the cushion which in turn engages either the back or posterior of the user to provide limited flexibility and desirable comfort and ergonomic support. The membrane in the central region is provided with a first series of wavy strips which extend between the border of the membrane, with the first strips extending transversely across the membrane in one direction in spaced relationship, and a second series of wavy strips extending transversely across the membrane in the other transverse direction.

The retainer has an opening overlapped with the space, a notch for communicating the opening to an outside of the retainer, a pair of claws with a sufficient elasticity, and a second slit formed between the claws and communicated with the notch. The gap of the notch and the gap of the second slit are substantially equal to the gap of the first slit. A path is formed between an edge of the opening and the claws and is narrower than the diameter of the cable head. The claws extend distantly from the space.

Abstract: A device for clamping a pipe includes a base part having a channel formed by two grooves and two ribs and having a coarse surface. A cap part includes a latch for engaging with the channel and having two flanges for engaging with the grooves and having a coarse surface for engaging with the coarse surface of the base part and for solidly securing the latch and the cap part to the base part. The base part includes a wedge extended in the channel. The latch includes a notch for engaging with the wedge and for solidly securing the latch to the base part.

Abstract: An anchoring structure for a cable end comprises a securing body having a recess defined therein and having an opening defined through an outer surface thereof and extending into the recess, an anchoring nipple for being fixed to the end of the cable and fitted into the recess of the securing body through the opening for being operatively connected to the securing body. The nipple is a unitary member with a first substantially cylindrical half portion having an opening defined in a side wall thereof for receiving the end of the cable, and a second substantially cylindrical half portion joined side-by-side to the first substantially cylindrical half portion such that the nipple is substantially 8-shaped when viewed towards ends of the half portions.

Abstract: A break-away clip in dog collar allows the dog to break free if the collar is caught on a protrusion or if another dog bites and twists the collar. The break away clip separates into two halves. One half contains two resilient posts and a resilient hook. The posts are separated from the hook by the width of a rod. The second half of the clip contains a rod which is forced between the two resilient posts and the resilient hook. Tension or twisting force on the collar, which is transmitted to the clip, causes the clip to open and free the dog from its collar so the dog can escape.

Abstract: A clasp for use in attaching two body members together, especially pieces of jewelry, that provides secure attachment. The clasp includes a receptor member having a surface defining a slot and a connector member having a shaft, where the shaft is removably positionable in the slot to releasably connect the connector member to the receptor member. The connector member is moveable from an upright position where it can be inserted and removed from the receptor member, and a second, or seated, position, where it is resiliently restrained by the receptor member. The interaction between the connector member and the receptor member creates a connection that is not easily unintentionally released.

Abstract: A sling assembly for hands free carrying of a compound archery bow. Weight adjustment screws, components of a conventional bow, are employed to attach the sling assembly thereto without structurally modifying it. However, once the sling assembly has been so attached, the bow must be retensioned prior to use. Included in the sling assembly are two small brackets which are mirror images of each other and have first and second arms set at an obtuse angle to each other. Each bracket defines a pair of longitudinally extending prongs which can be slid into position around a weight adjustment screw without actually removing it from the bow. The sling assembly also includes a flexible strap secured to the brackets with the use of elongated slots formed in each of them. In use, the brackets are mounted on a bow in such a way that the elongated slots are disposed close to the bow.

Abstract: Fastening of a thermal protection structure on the airframe of a craft such as a spaceplane, rocket, missile, re-entry capsule, or any hypersonic airplane wherein the thermal protection structure consists of a plurality of highly heat-resistant, mechanically stable panels, which may be provided with an additional gap seal if desired, with a plurality of fastening points per panel, which are arranged at spaced locations from one another and establish a positive-locking connection between the insulation structure and the airframe. The fastening has a first fastening point, which does not permit any movement, or it does permit an at least limited rotary movement of the panel around an axis extending at right angles to the airframe surface; a second fastening point, which permits a limited, linear displacement of the panel in parallel to the airframe surface; and at least one additional fastening point, which permits a limited displacement of the panel in all directions.

Abstract: A buckle which includes a first member having a nipple around which a second member can rotate in the plane of the buckle. The buckle can advantageously be used to couple a back supporting belt to a shoulder strap of a pair of suspenders or the like. The rotational movement of one buckle member with respect to the other buckle member in the plane of the buckle facilitates adjustment of the shoulder straps to accommodate the various shoulder widths of different wearers. The first and second buckle members are adapted to breakaway or decouple when the buckle is subjected to a load or force greater than a predetermined level.

Abstract: A slide lock system allows one or more connector bodies to be mounted at various locations on a mounting surface. A plurality of parallel, uniformly spaced rails are formed on the mounting surface. The rails define a plurality of parallel, uniformly spaced channels which are open on one end and closed on the opposite end. A pair of parallel, spaced apart rails are formed on each connector body. The connector rail spacing is an integral multiple of the spacing between the channels on the mounting surface such that the connector rails are endwise inserted into the open end of any of the plurality of channels.

Abstract: An interchangeable clasp is formed from a body having at least one recess, a connector configured to fit within this recess and a member for retaining the connector within the recess. This clasp is aesthetically appealing to the viewer and may be used in numerous applications. The male member has a stud projection therefrom with a part-circular head at its distal end which is too large to pass through the aperture but is dimensioned to be received in the receptacle from its open end with the stud disposed through the aperture and is rotatable about the axis of the stud while disposed in the receptacle. A spring-biased pawl is mounted on the female member for movement between a locking position projecting into the entrance of the receptacle and a release position out of the entrance.

Abstract: More facile closure of a food tray having a lid portion, a tray portion, cylindrical female locking elements disposed about a peripheral flange of the lid portion and cylindrical male locking elements disposed about a peripheral flange of the tray portion is accomplished by providing the female elements with axial ribs that both stiffen the female element with respect to closing pressure applied thereto and allow otherwise entrapped air within the female element to escape during insertion of the male element. Raised lands disposed about the peripheral flange of the lid portion adjacent the female elements act to divert a portion of the closing pressure applied, e.g., by a user's thumb, away from the closed end of the female element, thereby limiting deformation of the female element. A concave end surface of the female element also acts to alleviate deformation thereof. These various features are advantageously used either alone, or in concert with one another.

Abstract: A handle for removable attachment to a skateboard comprises a handle stem, a handle bar fastened to one end of the stem, and connecting structure secured at the other end of the stem for removably connecting the stem to the front end of a skateboard in upstanding relation thereto, the connecting structure having a base plate with a pair of opposed downwardly facing L-shaped grooves for sliding engagement with the slides of a generally horizontal flat plate member rigidly connected to the lower end of the stem. A fastening clip is connectable to said base plate for holding the stem in connection therewith. Alternative connecting structure may be employed by way of a removable hinge pin and related structure. Bracing strut member may be employed in connection with the handle stem for resisting twisting moments applied by a rider. The connecting structure is provided with a bolt hole pattern adapted to connect to the universal skateboard wheel truck bolt pattern.

Abstract: The present invention provides a one-piece plastic thermo-formed foodtray with a lower tray portion which may be closed by a folding upper lid portion. The lid portion is locked over the tray portion by the interlocking of interior upright cylindrical elements formed from a flange about the periphery of the tray portion into exterior upright cylindrical elements formed from a flange about the periphery of the tray portion. Raised lands are provided adjacent to the exterior upright cylindrical elements in order to protect the same from pressure and subsequent degradation and deformation during the interlocking process by limiting the depth of depression with the thumb of the interlocking cylindrical elements.

The retainer assembly comprises a longitudinally-extending member or stud and a retainer member or washer mounted thereon. The stud includes at least one throat portion. The washer comprises a body from which two prongs extend to define a channel. The prongs are folded back so that as a throat portion of the stud passes therethrough, the folded-back portions are compressed. Upon passage of the throat portions through this zone of the channel, the compressed folded-back portions of the prongs are released from compression thereby retaining the stud within a second zone of the channel.

Abstract: A latch for securing the ends of a belt together so as to encircle an inflatable cuff of an artificial sphincter.
