All Comminuting Zones Of Rotary Surface Type Patents (Class 241/141)
  • Publication number: 20080317933
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a finely divided meal or flour product includes at least one pair of corrugated rolls, a first drive mechanism for rotating a first roll in a first direction at a first speed, and a second drive mechanism for counter-rotating a second roll in a second direction at a second slower speed. Each roll is provided with Twin City Chunk corrugations set in an outer surface of the rolls in a spiral pattern of about 1.5 inches per lineal foot. The difference in rotational speeds of the first and second rolls provides a reduction ratio of about 2:5.1. Finely divided meal or flour products and methods for producing the products using the disclosed apparatus are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080223967
Abstract: A method and apparatus for comminuting particulate material by interparticle comminution in a bed of particles are disclosed. The apparatus includes a vertical roller mill with a horizontal grinding table rotating about a vertical mill axis. At least one grinding roller presses resiliently against a bed of particulate material on the grinding track and applies a compressive force. The geometry of the mill is such that the roller engages the bed of particulate material with a substantially pure rolling action. This minimizes shear forces applied to the particle bed and minimizes the reduction of fines.

  • Patent number: 7337998
Abstract: An apparatus for comminuting biological specimens includes a receiving component provided with a drive source, at least one sample retainer configured for accommodating at least one biological specimen and constructed and arranged for engagement in the receiving component. The sample retainer includes a first component configured for receiving a specimen prior to comminution and a second component for receiving the specimen after comminution. In addition, the sample retainer is insertable into the receiving component as a single piece.

  • Patent number: 6568614
Abstract: A recycling apparatus comprises a body; a slit on top having a hole on one end; a rear internal pasteurizing mechanism comprising a pulverizing device and a bottom first container; a front internal crushing mechanism comprising two sets of parallel blade wheels and a bottom second container; and a waste storage mechanism comprising a third container, a spring-loaded lever, and a plunger sliding in the third container. In use sequentially insert the needles of the used syringes into the slit with the piston syringe portion of the syringe held on the slit, push the syringes forward to cause the needles to contact the pulverizing device to be ground into powder while being pasteurized, the powder are dropped into the first container, the remained piston syringe portion of each syringe eventually drops into the crushing mechanism through the hole, the dropped piston syringe portion of each syringe is pressed and cut into pieces by the sets of the blade wheels, and the pieces are dropped into the second container.

  • Patent number: 5833152
Abstract: An integrated unitary comminuting system adapted for wastewater channel use is provided with devices which include a stationary single or dual semi-cylindrical-like sizing and sweeping screen member each having a rotating sweeping mechanism of interactive slotted comb bars or blades with tynes or teeth, so as to sweep and clear lodged or agglomerated solids adhering to the outer circumference surface of the semi-cylindrical-like screen member, disposed in spaced apart contiguous parallel relationship with a twin shaft shredder device having two parallel shafts with shredder or grinder teeth along the length thereof that rotate in opposite senses. The unitary system of devices may be positioned perpendicular between the influent and effluent side of the wastewater flow in a channel so that solids therein will encounter the semi-cylindrical-like sizing and sweeping screen members or the twin shaft shredder as the wastewater flows through the channel.

  • Patent number: 4815691
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making ice cubes is disclosed wherein a large number of ice trays or liquid trapping elements are placed in a larger container, liquid added to the larger container to a level which will fill the liquid trapping elements when the container is positioned in an ultimate storage position and in the ultimate storage position, all the liquid not trapped in the trapping elements is drained. Apparatus disclosed is a container for closely receiving a plurality of ice trays and a lid with a closeable drain opening. A closeable opening is shown in a container wall. Racks can be provided on one container wall and the container can be made of insulating material.

  • Patent number: 4518125
Abstract: Improvements in crushers, particularly for wood waste, comprise a container (1) having at least one inlet opening (3) and at least one outlet opening (4) for the waste and a plurality of mutually cooperating, feeding and disintegrating screws (6) as well as driving means for rotating the screws. To make possible an extensive disintegration of the material in the crusher each screw is provided at its one end, which is located adjacent to the outlet opening (4) of the container, with a substantially plane cutting means (11) which has at least one cutting edge and is located in a plane, which is substantially perpendicular to the rotational axis of the screw. At least one knife (23) or the like is secured to the container at its outlet opening, closely by the movement path of the cutting means, for further disintegration of the material just disintegrated in the crusher in cooperation with said cutting means.
