Patent number: 7611085Abstract: A waste fragmenting machine comprising a power feed system comprising a power feed wheel, an angular yoke connected to the power feed wheel and at least one, preferably two, sets of upper and lower linkage arms, the linkage arms being operatively connected with the machine frame and the angular yoke. The upper and lower arms of each set of linkage arms being arranged within the same vertical plane, but in a non-parallel relationship to each other and the upper arm being shorter in length than the lower arm. The linkage arms adjust the position of the power feed wheel to accommodate the size of feed material, thus maintaining a generally constant downward pressure thereon. Raising the power feed wheel under the present invention maintains the proximity between the power feed wheel and fragmenting rotor by moving the power feed wheel laterally in the direction of the rotor, thus promoting fragmenting efficiency by maximizing feed stability and maintaining steady feed rates.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2008Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Inventors: Murray McIntyre, Jamey Brick

Patent number: 7527212Abstract: A crusher comprises a crushing apparatus including a crushing rotor provided with a crushing bit for crushing target materials, a feed conveyor for conveying the target materials to the crushing apparatus, a pressing roller for pressing the target materials conveyed on the feed conveyor and introducing the target materials to the crushing apparatus in cooperation with the feed conveyor, and hydraulic cylinders for changing a relative positional relationship between the crushing apparatus and the feed conveyor, to thereby change a crushing angle formed between a feed direction of the target materials when the target materials are introduced to the crushing apparatus and a line tangential to the crushing rotor at a position where the crushing bit hits against the target materials. Since an angle at which the crushing bit cuts into the target materials is adjustable, crushed chips can be produced in a way flexibly adapted for various needs caused in sites by using a single crusher.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2006Date of Patent: May 5, 2009Assignee: Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.Inventor: Atsushi Kitaguchi

Patent number: 6435433Abstract: A device to treat or process and especially to disintegrate materials and compounds characterized by a rotor, to which mentioned materials are fed axially. The rotor centrifugally accelerates the input material to a tool ring rotating around the rotor preferably in opposite direction, in which the tools are arranged radially. The tools of the tool ring intercept the highly accelerated material in flight and induce an extrem shear and bending strain effecting that the material disintegrates at it's natural weak point. The tools are arranged at the circumference at such distances that a laregely open circumference is established. That effects that the disintegrated components of the material can be discharged from the device after the impact without any hindrance even if the material is wet or sticky. The degree of impact of the tools on the material can be adjusted by the regulating parameters.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Inventor: Rolf Hesch
