Abstract: An apparatus 10 for crushing materials such as rock, ore, coal, stone and the like includes two rolls 16A and 16B which are mounted in parallel to define a gap 18 therebetween. Each roll 16A and 16B is similar and includes longitudinally extending steps provided by outwardly extending faces and smoothly curved surface segments between the steps. When the rolls are counter-rotated at the same speed, the gap 18 is maintained substantially constant and effectively transversely reciprocates in location between limits defined by the outer extremity of the face of a step on one roll being located opposite the inner extremity of the face of a step on the opposite roll. Compared to smooth roll crushing the invention provides for greater reduction ratios to be achieved at slower rotational speeds and using smaller diameter rolls.

Abstract: In order to create a wear-resistant surface armoring suited for autogenous wear protection for the rolls of high-pressure roll presses for pressure disintegration of granular material using nap bolts (grid armoring), which also comprises a high serviceable life span even under the effect of high-pressure loads, it is proposed to give the nap bolt the shape of a mushroom, whose head projects outward from the roll body and whose shaft is sunk into the corresponding recess or bore of the roll body in such a way that an open space remains between the base of the bore and the lower end of the shaft of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 5735471
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for disintegration of thermoplastic elastomeric materials containing fibres, wires or the like. This method comprises the following two steps: subjecting segments of the elastomeric materials to temperatures able to bring the segments into a brittle glass-like state (by means of a freezing chamber), and gradual disintegrating of the frozen segments by disintegrating means provided to separate the segments from the wires and fibres. This disintegration is effected by means of a bending force applied to the frozen segments causing them to break into small particles while the wires and fibres remain substantially intact. After the disintegration, separation of the small particles, wires and fibres takes place by separating means.

  • Patent number: 5725416
Abstract: A combined cutting/grinding tool comprises a grinding wheel with an exterior circumferential grinding surface for profiling an object surface of a product to be manufactured. The grinding surface includes an abrasive grit. A profile is formed in the grinding surface for grinding a corresponding profile into the object surface. A plurality of inserts are inserted into a plurality of slots formed in the grinding surface. A cutting portion of each insert extends radially and integrally outward from the grinding surface to cut detail into the object surface of the part to be manufactured.

  • Patent number: 5683045
Abstract: Paired, coacting, albeit non-contacting rollers have interfitting collars or rings, and tapered rims, which are rotatably driven in opposite directions. Paper fed therebetween is torn asunder, and freely discharged therefrom. The rings cooperate together to force the paper to be torn lengthwise thereof, and the rims crease the resulting strips to insure that they do not remain lodged between the rings. An embodiment has helical rings or collars which cause the paper to be dismembered into diagonally-shaped, fine fragments.

  • Patent number: 5518192
Abstract: A vertical roller mill which maintains a predetermined milling capacity for a long period of operation is disclosed. The outer portion of the grinding face of a milling roller is chamfered with respect to a tangent drawn at the point at which chamfering of the grinding surface of the milling roller begins and/or the outer portion of the surface of a table liner is chamfered with respect to a tangent drawn at the point at which chamfering of the surface of the table liner begins. Through this structure, a milled material is smoothly discharged to the outside of the milling table, and an otherwise possible overload to the vertical roller mill is prevented. Further, the wide and shallow abrasion pattern resulting from the use of this structure means the vertical roller mill can maintain a predetermined milling performance for a long period of operation.
