  • Patent number: 6409106
Abstract: A drum for processing household, commercial solid waste and non-hazardous industrial waste. An inlet wall of the drum includes an opening to allow entry of waste into the drum to be treated. An outlet wall includes an opening for evacuation of treated waste from the drum. Further openings on the inlet and outlet walls provide ventilation, allowing outside air to circulate through the drum and the waste material being processed. A rotating envelope within the drum includes large cutters to tear and separate the waste and small cutters and points to further process the waste and separate the waste into its constituent parts. The large cutters are disposed in a helicoidal shape to advance waste entering the drum at the inlet wall towards the outlet wall for removal.

  • Patent number: 4848681
Abstract: A wear resistant lining element for a rotary grinding mill. The element, which is made of elastomeric material, is provided on its leading side with respect to rotation with a hard wear layer made, for example, of steel. The hard wear layer is backed and supported by the elastomeric material of the element to which it is secured by chemical and/or mechanical bonding. With this arrangement, the elastomeric component cushions the hard wear layer and provides damping during grinding impact and minimizes cracking of the hard layer and scrap loss.

Abstract: An improved flighting for dryers is the subject of the present invention. An elongated drying drum is disposed for rotation about its longitudinal axis. The inner surface of the drum is provided with a plurality of material distributing vanes in circumferentially spaced relationship. The vanes are characterized by first surface extending generally transverse to a tangent to set body at the point of attachment and a second wedge-shaped surface intersecting the first surface. The wedge-shaped surface may also be provided with a lip extending circumferentially therefrom. A plurality of interference structures are disposed from a central longitudinal support and provide means for distributing material gravitating from the outer peripheral vanes. A plurality of return flighting members are disposed along the inner surface of the drum between the afore described material distributing vanes. These flighting members are disposed at an angle and conform generally to the curvature of the inner surface.

The material to be cut, loaded into the vessel in axial direction, deposits a layer on the inside wall of the vessel in consequence of the centrifugal force, which is treated by the knives and is displaced in axial direction to the discharging end of the vessel where the cut material is continuously taken away. The equipment includes a material feeding device, a drive for the vessel and the knife shaft, each with different speed, as well as a discharging device for the cut material.
