  • Patent number: 11925295
Abstract: A grinding device comprises a grinding housing with mutually co-acting grinding bodies. A lower of the two grinding bodies is both driven and axially adjustable for the purpose of setting a grind size. An upper grinding body is removable. A grind size of the grinding device can be adjusted in absolute manner between a first extreme position and a second extreme position, corresponding to a fixed setting range between a minimal clearance between the two grinding surfaces and a maximum clearance between the two grinding surfaces. An extreme position of the adjustable grinding body is imposed by a stop which is encountered by the adjusting means in the relevant extreme position. A coffee machine uses the absolute grind size and/or a fine-tuning for an optimal contact time between coffee and through-flowing water.

Abstract: In a wet agitating ball mill, a shaft 5 rotated and driven by a motor is hollow at its axial center at an upper portion, a discharge route 9 communicating with a slurry discharge port is provided, and a rotor 11 is affixed at the lower portion of the shaft. A separator 4 is composed of a pair of disks 21 and a blade 22 for coupling both disks to form an impeller, and by its rotation, a centrifugal force is applied to the slurry and media getting in the separator 4, and by the difference in specific gravity of the two, accordingly, the media having the heavier specific gravity is expelled and separated in the radial direction, while the slurry of the lighter specific gravity is discharged through the discharge route 9 of the shaft 5 in a state free from kinetic energy.

  • Patent number: 5722605
Abstract: A roll crusher includes a crusher roll; a support for rotatably and radially shiftably supporting the crusher roll; a stationarily supported countermember cooperating with the crusher roll to define a crushing gap therewith; and a hydraulic setting system for radially displacing the crusher roll for varying the crushing gap. The hydraulic setting system includes a pressure source and a piston rod executing strokes and having an end coupled to the roll support for transmitting to the crusher roll setting forces derived from the pressure source. Further, an abutment device is provided for limiting the strokes of the piston rod to set a minimum magnitude of the crushing gap. The abutment device includes an actuating mechanism for placing the abutment device into a stroke-limiting state and into a piston rod-releasing state.

  • Patent number: 5713525
Abstract: A horizontal comminuting machine for reducing recyclable waste wood and other comminutable material which may have non-reducible foreign objects incorporated with it has a generally horizontal rotary drum mounting a plurality of peripherally spaced communinuting tools traveling in a continuous work contacting path. A feed works delivers material forwardly to the rotating drum in a longitudinal feed stream and to a lead anvil which, under undue operating pressure, withdraws from an operative position adjacent the path of the tools to a removed position. An anvil confining assembly on the machine frame controls the travel of the anvil. Rearwardly of the lead anvil, individual anvils are mounted to cooperate with the tools to further reduce the material.

  • Patent number: 5685499
Abstract: A material comminution device has a housing. Cutters extend within the housing and move toward each other in a scissor-like manner. The cutters extend parallel to each other along a bottom portion and diverge along a top portion, and consist of comb-like rows of spaced blades that mesh with each other. The blades carry out at the same time a shearing movement and a swivelling movement around an axis by means of a crank mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5529249
Abstract: A rotary impact breaker has a housing and a rotor rotatable in the housing about an axis in a predetermined direction and formed with a radially outwardly open pocket having a generally radially extending front and back faces. An impact element has a foot part seated in the pocket and having a front face bearing against the front pocket face and a back face confronting and diverging from the back pocket face and a head part projecting radially from the pocket. A retaining wedge in the pocket has a front face bearing forwardly against the back element face and a back face backwardly against the back pocket face. A bolt engages radially from the wedge into the rotor and presses the wedge radially inwardly and thereby tightly lodges the wedge between the back element face and back pocket face.

A dog clutch is operationally inserted between the delivery dish member and the gear unit. A safety clutch is operationally inserted between delivery dish member and grinding tool which limits the torque to be transmitted. The safety clutch is provided with ball members located in axially running bores of the delivery dish member and being axially displaceable in these bores. The ball members are forced against the front face of the grinding tool and partially engage apertures provided therein under the influence of spring members assigned to each ball member. The delivery dish member is provided at its surface which faces the grinding tool member with a metallic disc member in which are located the mouths of axial bores containing the spring pressure loaded ball members.

  • Patent number: 5383610
Abstract: The invention relates to the comminution of brittle material for grinding in a material bed roll mill with two grinding rolls, in which the material for grinding is comminuted between the cylindrical surfaces of the grinding rolls by the application of a grinding force. In order to prevent damage to the roll surfaces due to excessively high surface pressures but to utilise the maximum capacity without exceeding it, the roll surface pressure is continuously monitored and when an upper limit is exceeded the pressure is reduced to a permissible value by reducing the grinding force.

  • Patent number: 5232168
Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating recyclable material from waste material in a material handling system. The material separator comprises a screw conveyor that separates waste material from recyclable material. The screw feeder also feeds the recyclable material into a crusher for pulverization. The waste material bypasses the crusher and is deposited onto a screen for removal into a waste bin. The crusher generally pulverizes the material received by the screw conveyor. However, if uncrushable material is dropped into the crusher assembly, a ballistic part ejector is provided for use with the crusher. The crusher apparatus has a housing and a rotary crusher member. The housing of the crusher apparatus includes convergent walls along one portion to direct ballistic or thrown uncrushable debris in a predetermined direction toward an ejector aperture formed in the housing. A closure member operably obstructs the ejector aperture in the housing.
