  • Patent number: 11969736
Abstract: The invention relates to a cross-shaped support (10) for a meat-mincing machine. The cross-shaped support (10) has a hub (11) with a central bore (15), an outer ring (13), and multiple webs (12) which extend between the hub (11) and the outer ring (13). A groove (14) is provided on the exterior of the outer ring (13) in order to support the cross-shaped support (10) in the meat-mincing machine in a rotationally fixed manner. The cross-shaped support (10) additionally functions as a tool, for example the cross-shaped support has projections (16) which allow a simplification of the assembly or disassembly of the knife pin from the meat-mincing machine (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 11541398
Abstract: A mincing drum for a cutting and separating device, at the first end section of which there is an inlet opening and at the second end section of which there is an outlet opening, a plurality of cutting openings being arranged in a pressure housing section of the mincing drum and passing continuously through the pressure housing section from an inner wall to an outer wall, each cutting opening having, on the inner wall, a cutting opening edge facing the outlet opening and a drawing-in opening edge facing the inlet opening. The cutting performance of the cutting and separating device and the quality of the desired food component is significantly improved as a feed channel which is recessed relative to the inner wall is situated between the cutting opening edge and the drawing-in opening edge.

  • Patent number: 11491491
Abstract: A method to grind meat in a grinder, includes: providing the meat to the grinder via a hopper where the hopper includes a feeder worm for feeding the meat to a process unit. The process unit has a rotating processing worm and a cutting set. The rotating processing worm can receive the meat from the feeder worm and convey it to the cutting set, which grinds the meat. The method involves automatically adjusting the revolutions per minute of the rotating processing worm in response to a pressure creation in the process unit.

  • Patent number: 10434483
Abstract: High thermal transfer, hollow core extrusion screws (50, 52, 124, 126, 190) include elongated hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192) equipped with helical fighting (56, 132, 134, 194) along the lengths thereof. The fighting (132, 134, 194) may also be of hollow construction which communicates with the hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192). Structure (88, 90) is provided for delivery of heat exchange media (e.g., steam) into the hollow core shafts (54, 128, 130, 192) and the hollow fighting (132, 134, 194). The fighting (56, 132, 134, 194) also includes a forward, reverse pitch section (64, 162, 216). The extrusion screws (50, 52, 124, 126, 190) are designed to be used as complemental pairs as a part of twin screw processing devices (20), and are designed to impart high levels of thermal energy into materials being processed in the devices (20), without adding additional moisture.

  • Patent number: 9271508
Abstract: Separation chambers, deboning machines, and methods of operating the same are provided. In one aspect, a separation chamber for a compression-type deboning machine includes a body defining an internal cavity therein having a frusto-conical shape. A central longitudinal axis of the body extends from a first opening of the cavity near a first end of the body to a second opening of the cavity near a second end of the body. The first opening is larger than the second opening. The separation chamber also includes a plurality of perforations defined through the body from an inner surface of the body to an outer surface of the body. Each perforation includes a perforation axis extending longitudinally through a center of the perforation. The perforation axes of the plurality of perforations are transverse to a radial axis extending perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis of the body.

  • Patent number: 7905436
Abstract: A pair of lugs in an opening of a grinding head of a grinding machine and a pair of corresponding openings in an orifice plate of a grinding machine are disclosed to properly orient the plate in the head during assembly. The lugs are preferably of two different sizes so that the orifice plate will only fit into the head in one orientation. The lugs may differ in size such that the person assembling the grinding machine will be able to visualize the correct orientation based on the size of the lugs and corresponding openings.

  • Patent number: 6357681
Abstract: A cutter-separator. Product is fluidized under pressure, forced through the bore of a spring and thence through the gaps between the coils of the spring while in its extended condition. When the spring returns to its compressed, or relaxed, condition the product which has been forced through the coils is reduced in size (i.e., cut, partially cut, or mashed, as desired) by the spring. Contaminants which are too large to pass between the coils are ultimately carried to the end of the spring, downstream from the product flow, where they are discharged.
