Abstract: The present disclosure describes a cable reel. The cable reel may include a hollow core having a width; a first wall coupled to an end of the core and extending radially outward a distance from the core, the first wall comprising an opening aligned with the hollow core and at least one support member extending across the opening; and a second wall coupled to an opposing end of the core and extending radially outwardly a distance from the core, the second wall comprising an opening aligned with the hollow core; wherein the first wall and the second wall form a gap therebetween equal to the width of the core, the gap being configured to hold a length of excess cable wrapped around the core. Cable reel covers are also described.

Abstract: A portable towel dispensing device for carrying the paper towel dispenser by an attachable strap includes a tube. The tube has an end and an opposite end. A solid end is coupled to the end and a cap end is positioned on the opposite end. The cap end can be removable from the tube to expose a hollow interior to the user. A roll of paper towels is contained within the hollow interior. A plurality of belt clips is coupled to an exterior of the tube. Each of the belt clips has an aperture. A strap has a pair of ends with a hook clip coupled to each of the ends. Each of the hook clips attaches to the aperture of each of the belt clips. The strap is positioned on the shoulder or the waist of the user.

Abstract: An anvil assembly suitable for trans-oral delivery includes an anvil head configured to receive a guide suture that is severed during a stapling procedure. An anvil delivery assembly includes the anvil assembly and a suture guide assembly secured to the anvil assembly.

Abstract: A disposable, portable and compact fluid and floss dispenser that is substantially rectangularly shaped with dispensers for fluid located at each of the four slanted configured corners and a spindle for dispensing floss and a mirror located on the bottom surface of the dispenser housing. The housing includes three layers or sections connected together. Nozzles are provided on the housing to dispense fluid in liquid or droplet form, or foam.

Abstract: A suturing device includes a clamshell body having a first side coupled to a second side by a hinge. The first side and the second side each have an end opposite the hinge. A spool is coupled to the clamshell body and rotatable relative to the clamshell body. A suture is wound around the spool. The ends of the first side and the second side may lock together to capture an end of the suture.

Abstract: A thread cassette in the form of a cassette-like plastic box adapted for holding two bobbins of thread. Once assembled with the bobbins disposed therein, the cassette cannot be reopened. The cassette casing enables thread therein to be easily and readily dispensed on demand. The plastic box features an integral cylindrical element which fits a standard sewing machine spool spindle. A single-bobbin casing is another embodiment of the invention. The two-bobbin embodiment may be used for supplying thread to a two-needle sewing machine.

Abstract: A device for severing and restraining dental floss that has a blade with a restraining side and a cutting side, which can be formed by slanting the blade or otherwise providing a narrow pinching portion on one side of the blade to restrain the floss.

Abstract: A wire dispensing apparatus which comprises a housing adapted to receive a spool or coil of electrical wire. In one embodiment, the wire dispensing apparatus comprises a housing which is provided with a cylindrically-shaped container sized to receive spools of wire. One end of the wire is trained through an elongate slot on the housing so that the wire may be pulled from the spool through the elongate slot. The housing may be designed to mount on a conventional wire rack or so-called caddie. In another embodiment, the housing may be constructed in the form of a suitcase in which a plurality of different spools of wire may be located and which is provided with elongate slots for pulling coils of wire therefrom. The device is also capable of dispensing heavy insulated wire, such as Romex or the like.

Abstract: A dental floss dispenser comprising a molded unitary plastic housing composed of three main sections connected by two hinges which permits the dispenser to be easily opened and dental floss contained therein to be replaced by the user. A front section of the molded unitary plastic housing contains an opening and a molded post adjacent to the opening. A window assembly, molded of a transparent plastic, is engaged with the molded unitary plastic housing through placement of a hollow shaft having an axial bore capable of receiving the molded post over the molded post.

Abstract: A spool stores and dispenses filamentary material. The spool includes a back plate, a front plate and an outer hub around which the filamentary material is wound. The outer hub connects the back plate to the front plate. The back plate includes a pocket which extends inward from an outer edge. Securely positioned in the pocket is a resilient tab deflectable from a locked position into a released position and tending to return to the locked position, for capturing a loose end of the filamentary material between the resilient tab and the back plate in the locked position and for releasing the loose end in the released position.

Abstract: A container for dispensing thin line, such as tippet material used for fishing, includes a housing having a flat end wall and a cylindrical peripheral wall which together define a cavity for holding several spools of the line. The lines pass from their respective spools through a slit in the peripheral wall. The slit has elastomeric liners along its edges, and these liners serve to grip the line, so that its ends are presented for gripping beyond the container. The housing also has a spindle which projects from the end wall of the housing through the spools, beyond which it has a screw thread. An end plate extends across the cavity where it opens out of the housing, this plate being attached to the housing at the screw threads on the spindle so that it can be turned down to clamp the spools between it and the end wall of this housing. This controls the resistance with which the spools will rotate when dispensing line.

Abstract: A dental floss holder is in the form of a box with a drawer in it. The bottom of the drawer includes a hub which is spring biased to push a bobbin mounted thereon toward an opposite side of the box. The bias is such that the bobbin drags with a predetermined force on an opposite side of the box to maintain tension in the floss. A result is that the bobbin does not unwind while in the holder, thereby precluding a snarled floss line. Also, the tension gives a smooth "pull" which adds a "feel" of quality to the floss. The "feel" does not change as the diameter of the bobbin changes with either an exhaustion of floss or changes in the diameter of a full bobbin. The hub is mounted on a dome having sides with a shape which guides and directs any floss falling off the bobbin back onto it.

Abstract: This device relates to a yarn containing and dispensing device adapted for dispensing axially-winding and peripheral-winding skeins of yarn. This device includes a container having mating longitudinal top and bottom members with end members at each end. When closed, the top and bottom members define a longitudinal gap therebetween for dispensing yarn from a peripherally-winding skein. Further, when closed, the end members define an aperature for dispensing yarn from an axially-winding skein. Alternatively, the aperture retains a spindle for supporting a peripherally-winding skein.

Abstract: For sequentially dispensing individual closed loops of a narrow, easily tied, flexible material, such as dental floss, a chain having such closed loops as respective links thereof is made up by pressing a loop length of the flexible material into substantially rectilinear formation, loosely forming a knot in an end thereof, inserting a loop end of another so-pressed loop length into the loosely formed knot of the first loop length, tightening the knot to provide a slip-free-until-pulled-to-separate-loops joinder between the thus formed loop links and repeating this with additional loop lengths at either or both ends of the first-joined loop length until a chain of desired length is formed. Individual loop links are dispensed by grasping a terminal loop link of the chain and pulling it free of the chain while holding the knot that embraces the unknotted end of the next loop link of the chain.

Abstract: A facsimile device or an electrophotographic copying machine includes a paper feeding section for supplying a copy paper derived from a roll-paper to an image forming section. A housing of the facsimile device or the electrophotographic copying machine includes a rotatable cover for exposing the paper feeding section when required. A pair of first supporting members are secured to the both side ends of the paper feeding section for rotatably and demountably supporting the roll-paper. A pair of second supporting members are secured to the rotatable cover for preliminarily supporting the roll-paper when the rotatable cover is opened. The roll-paper preliminarily supported by the second supporting members is transferred to the first supporting members when the rotatable cover is closed.

Abstract: Cardboard container for dispensing a roll of sheet material consisting of a box with a slotted top through which is dispensed material fed from a supply roll contained in the box. The container is constructed of a single sheet of paperboard folded and slotted so as to provide a centering device for the supply roll when the paperboard is folded to form a box.

Abstract: A package construction for coilable material and method of packaging and dispensing such coilable material are provided wherein the package construction comprises a reel for coiling the coilable material thereon and a pallet-type support means for the reel with the reel being made as a part of the support means and the support means supporting the reel for handling and storage purposes and also supporting the reel for rotation relative thereto.

Abstract: A box containing a roll of material such as a rope of tubular plastic netting, the roll having a passage extending through it axially. Each end of the box has a triangular aperture through it. When the roll rests on a first side of the box the apertures line up with the passage through the roll. In this position an arbor is inserted through the passage and the apertures. To dispense the material the box is turned over so that a second side, the side opposite the first side, is on the bottom. The arbor now rests on arbor-supporting edge portions of each aperture. The distance between each arbor-supporting edge portion and the second side is greater than the radius of the roll, so the roll is suspended above the second side of the box by means of the arbor. The roll then rotates freely in the box, permitting material to be unwound.

Abstract: A spool of thread, such as dental floss, is housed in a holder, preferably made of plastic. The thread or floss is wound on a bobbin having a hollow, cylindrical hub area. A clutch for controlling the bobbin rotation comprises a split post having an enlarged cross section near the center thereof. The split post fits into the hollow, cylindrical hub area of the bobbin with the post squeezed slightly to provide a desired amount of friction between the central post and the cylindrical hub walls. The friction keeps the bobbin from unwinding; however, the friction is not so great that it keeps the thread or floss from pulling smoothly and evenly from the bobbin.

Abstract: A fastener cartridge of the throw-away type including a housing enclosing an elongated continuous wire wound in coil formation on a spool and mounting the spool for rotation about its axis in response to an outward pull on a free end portion of the strand extending outwardly of the housing and a holding pawl within the housing for preventing movement of the strand free end portion into the housing and a cooperating portable power-operated device lockingly securing said cartridge in operative relation thereon having power driven means for cutting off successive lengths from the free end portion of the wire and driving the same into a workpiece. The dimension of the lengths cut off from the wire can be varied within a range as desired by an adjustable power-operated feed pawl which cooperates with the holding pawl of the cartridge.

Abstract: A dispensing device for a paper web adapted to be carried in a pocket, purse or the like for holding a supply of paper and enabling a desired quantity of such paper to be readily dispensed. The paper may be that type used for rolling your own cigarette, cleaning eyeglass lenses, making notes and the like which are normally difficult to carry without becoming folded, crumpled or otherwise unusable. The dispenser includes a tubular housing receiving a roll of paper including a paper web and core rotatably mounted on a tubular spindle with one end of the paper web extending out through a discharge slot. A resilient band extends through the tubular spindle and biases the roll of paper against the wall of the tubular housing to resist free rotation thereof for controlling the discharge of paper through the discharge slot.
