Alarm Or Indicator Patents (Class 242/148)
  • Publication number: 20140021281
Abstract: A tension assembly indicates when a desired tension is achieved between two objects connected by the tension assembly. The tension assembly may be attached in series with a tension adjustor between a structure and an anchor, or any other two objects, and include a compressible component and an indication mechanism. As tension between the structure and anchor is adjusted using the tension adjustor, the compressible component adjusts in size, allowing the indicator to indicate whether the current tension is satisfactory. The compressible component includes a spring which, when compressed or expanded, allows the indicator to move toward or away from another indicator. When the indicators are aligned, the desired tension is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6010089
Abstract: A tension control device (10 for tensioning filamentary material (F) being withdrawn from a spool (24) including, a mounting support (11), a spindle (24) receiving the spool and rotatably mounted relative to the mounting support, a control arm (13) rotatably mounted on a shaft (15) in operative relation to the spindle, a brake element (18) mounted on the control arm for selectively retarding rotation of the spindle, a guide roller (16) rotatably attached to the control arm over which the filamentary material being withdrawn from the spool is passed, and a break-away mounted (80) of the guide roller to provide tension relief when the tension in the filamentary material exceeds a predetermined value. A break-away signaling system (95) detects and signals angular movement of the guide roller relative to the control arm.

  • Patent number: 5118046
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a yarn movement comprises a yarn guide unit for the sliding guidance of a moving yarn, and a converter cooperating with the yarn guide unit for generating an electric signal. With the aim of improving the signal-noise ratio of an apparatus of this type, there is provided a member mounted for movement relative to the yarn guide unit and disposed such that the yarn is guided between the member and the yarn guide unit in simultaneous contact with the member and the yarn guide unit, the member being subjected to a biasing action relative to the yarn guide unit.

  • Patent number: 4884763
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an apparatus for generating an electric signal corresponding to thread movement in a thread brake in textile machines of different types. A transducer element (9, 21) of piezoelectric type is disposed in direct contact with an element (3, 18) included in the brake and, by the intermediary of a further element included in the brake, or directly, is in contact with that thread (13) which is to be braked and sensed, so that movements which occur in the thread (13) on braking thereof shall be transmitted to the transducer element (9, 21) and the electric signal corresponding to thread movements is impressed on a monitoring circuit for indication of whether the signal ceases during a period of time when the signal should exist. It is possible to arrest the operation of the machine upon loss of the signal.

  • Patent number: 4881062
Abstract: A device for detecting break of any of a plurality of yarns arranged closely to each other in a spinning or weaving machine such as loom, knitting machine, warping machine, etc., includes sensor electrodes disposed in correspondence to the respective yarns, high-input-resistance amplifiers, separators and a logic circuit, in which each yarn is let runs between adjacent separators. When any of the yarns is caused to stop running due to trouble such as a break, the output of the corresponding high-input resistance amplifier becomes high in potential and a signal is issued to the output of the logic circuit to thereby stop the machine while giving an alarm.

  • Patent number: 4671187
Abstract: To detect impending deropement of a wire haul rope from supporting sheaves in an aerial tramway system, there is provided a magnetic assembly having sufficient field strength to support itself in a predetermined position by reason of attraction to the wire haul rope when running normally in the sheaves. When the wire haul rope begins to run off one of the sheaves toward an impending deropement, the magnetic assembly will fall from its armed position to a substantially moved position. The magnetic assembly carries at least one position-responsive switch which interrupts a detection circuit when the magnet moves to the moved position. The interruption of the detection circuit is utilized to detect the location of the potential deropement and to terminate tramway operation.

  • Patent number: 4175718
Abstract: Thread brake including a rotatably driven lower and upper dish, a device for applying a load with adjustable pressure to the upper dish, the device including a chamber, an elastic container of variable volume received in the chamber, and a central compressed-gas supply connected to the elastic container, the elastic container being of such size in non-pressurized condition thereof that, upon being pressurized, the elastic wall thereof is not stretched, and plunger means for transmitting the pressure from the elastic container to the upper dish, the plunger means extending through an opening formed in a wall of the chamber and having a contact surface of predetermined size directed against the elastic container.
