  • Patent number: 10040020
Abstract: A filter apparatus and method utilize a filter element having a central winding frame and a length of fluted filter material wound about the frame with the flutes of the media oriented substantially longitudinally, to thereby provide for filtration of a flow of fluid passing axially through the filter element. The winding frame is a substantially open, truss-like structure, having a smooth outer periphery and an axially extending winding feature to facilitate pulling the media into intimate contact with the smooth outer periphery during fabrication of the filter element. A leading edge of the filter media is anchored to a leading edge of the frame by a length of tape.

  • Patent number: 9738477
Abstract: A package of flat material in a flat profile and a method for making the package. Flat material is wound around a core having hollow channels that are coupled by engagement with extruding pins from a member. The member is mounted on an axis that rotates, causing the member to rotate. The rotation winds the flat material onto the core. The final package of flat material has a flat profile, which may be a convenient shape for storage in small and confined places.

  • Patent number: 7406752
Abstract: A stretching device for filiform elements comprises a main body member (1) having ends, with one of the ends having a connection opening (2) and the opposite end of the plate member having a rotating mounting opening (3) in the rotating mounting opening there is a rotating part (6) having a command head (11) which forms a winding reel (7) for the wire to be stretched; mounted on the main body (1) is a slide mobile cramp (12). The winding to stretch the element is done by turning the command head (11). Once the suitable stretching has been achieved, the slide mobile cramp (12) is slided until said command head (11) is introduced into the cramp recess (15) formed by the cramp fork (14). Under these conditions, the rotating part (6) is fixed, keeping the tension on the filiform element.

  • Patent number: 6527213
Abstract: A skein support bow includes an elongated solid main section made of flexible material and has a length approximately equal to the length of a skein to be mounted thereon. Double hook members are located at each end of the elongated main section for engaging a corresponding loop end of the skein. An excrescence is integrally appending from the main section and forms a label hanger for receiving a label after the label is removed from the skein thereby making information on the label available after the skein is mounted to the bow.

  • Patent number: 4811839
Abstract: A film belt package which facilitates loading on support rollers while maintaining the belt protected within the package until loaded on the support rollers. This film belt loader package supports the film belt under tension and in a configuration which substantially replicates its configuration when located on such support rollers. The belt, on its tension support, is enclosed by a member which is adapted to engage such film belt for urging such film belt off of the tension support in order to load such belt on support rollers.

  • Patent number: 4432502
Abstract: Bobbin apparatus for releasing a connecting filament between a radiosonde and the sonde balloon in a controlled manner during the ascent thereof includes a longitudinally extending member adapted to be affixed to the balloon around which the filament is wound and having a transverse dimension which increases in the longitudinal direction from a narrow upper end to a wide lower end thereof. The filament will unwind from the bobbin member during ascent of the balloon causing the bobbin member to periodically oscillate in a manner such that the filament will unwind without fouling and at an appropriate rate.

  • Patent number: 4394996
Abstract: A drapery package comprising a core member and a drapery wrapped around it. The core member has a central portion and two end sections, the first of said two end sections containing a substantially uniformly spaced gap adjacent to said central portion, and the second of said two end sections containing a tapered spaced gap adjacent to said central portion. A longitudinally fan-folded drapery has a top end, a bottom end, and a middle section therebetween, the bottom end of said drapery being inserted into the substantially uniformly spaced gap of the first end section of the core member, the middle section of said drapery being wound in spiral fashion around the length of the core member, and the top end of the wound drapery being exposed. The wound drapery is packed in a box with its top end exposed so that drapery pins can be inserted along the top margin of the drapery even before it is removed from the box.

  • Patent number: 4148441
Abstract: In order to form a package which includes a length of fabric which at one side edge region is substantially longer than at its other side edge region, the fabric is wound so as to form a wound body of fabric surrounding a given axis, and along the latter axis there is situated a core which has opposed free end regions which respectively have transversely with respect to said axis maximum dimensions one of which is substantially greater than the other. The core end region which is of the greater maximum dimension supports the fabric at its longer side edge region. The core preferably includes tubular and finned core portions, the latter having fins which project from the axis of the core, and the finned core portion extends partly into the tubular core portion.
