  • Patent number: 9226487
Abstract: A gear attachment structure receives rotation of a handle assembly. The gear attachment structure includes a traverse cam shaft and a driven gear. The traverse cam shaft includes a shaft body, a gear support portion and a gear engaging portion. The gear support portion includes intersecting helical grooves on the outer peripheral surface. The gear support portion is disposed on an end of the shaft body and has a circular cross-section. The gear engaging portion includes a pair of circular-arc portions and a pair of straight portions. The circular-arc portions are opposed to each other while being either disposed along and within the outer periphery of the gear support portion or disposed radial outwards of the gear support portion. One of the straight portions is coupled to one ends of the circular-arc portions whereas the other of the straight portions is coupled to the other ends of the circular-arc portions.

  • Patent number: 6347477
Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a forearm support member or saddle 16 which is placed under the forearm of the user near the hand grip 18 whereby the user has better control of the fishing rod. The saddle member 16 is designed to relieve stress on the wrist of the user and to aid the user in fighting bigger fish. The saddle member 16 is also used to control the pressure on the rod from the underarm area of the user for use when the user is bottom fishing with the rod. Also shown is a rod member 12 having a longer rear portion 14 and a shorter front portion 20 having an angular hand grip 18 thereinbetween and further having a saddle member 16 mounted thereon. A locking member 34, 36, 38 is shown for placement of the fishing reel 26 onto the forward member 20. Also, the forward rod member 20 has an aperture 40 or other means for receiving the butt of a fishing rod or fishing rod blank.

  • Patent number: 6053444
Abstract: A double bearing type reel includes: a reel main body having a pair of side plates; a spool rotatably supported between the side plates; and a fishline guide device reciprocatingly provided between the side plates extending in front of the spool, said fishline guide device winding a fishline parallel around the spool. The fishline guide device includes a fishline guide portion having a lower portion which guides the fishline in a fishline take-up state and an upper portion which guides the fishline in a fishline play-out state. The upper portion is larger in width than the lower portion. The fishline guide device may have a pair of arm portions movably supported to the side plates by outer ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 4219168
Abstract: A slitting and rewinding system having a tension stand assembly with at least one pressure pad is provided. The system includes a payoff, a slitter, a tension stand, and a coil rewinder. A roll of material, usually metal, is positioned on the payoff so that it is aligned with the slitter. The slitter is fed the material from the payoff and transforms the relatively wide stock into narrow strips. The strips are untensioned between the slitter and tension stand, and may form a loop. Tension is provided between the tension stand and the rewinder due to both the winding action of the rewinder and a pressure pad provided within the tension stand. The pad exerts uniform pressure on the strips as they pass through the stand, thereby helping to form the loop on one side and provide tensioned strips on the other. The system allows a wide metal coil to be processed without difficulty even if there are variations in thickness in the coil.
