At least one of the front and the rear bearing is made up of a rolling bearing, outside portions of both the front and the rear bearing are fixed to and supported by the support section of the reel body in the axial direction, an inner race of one of the front and the rear rolling bearing is fixed to and supported by the cylindrical drive shaft in the axial direction, and an inside portion of the other of the front and the rear rolling bearing is movably arranged with respect to the cylindrical drive shaft in the axial direction.

A grip portion integral with the tubular stem has a cavity extending between opposite ends of the grip portion. A pair of caps closing the opposite open ends are detachably fixed to the grip portion by a resilient member. The handle is light weight, and thus can be operated with a small amount of force.

Also, the handle knob can be grasped easily from a position outward of the knob with the angler's fingertips.

It will be appreciated that one end of the shaft could extend be pivotally connected to the handle in the same manner the sleeve was connected to the handle, thereby eliminating the sleeve.
