Abstract: A baitcaster for retrieving a fishing line. The baitcaster includes a housing, a spool, and a noisemaker configured to alert a user in response to rotation of the spool. The spool is positioned at least partially within the housing, defines an inner volume, and includes a spindle. The noisemaker includes a sprocket having a plurality of teeth, a pawl positioned alongside the sprocket, and a set of arms abutting the pawl. The set of arms are positioned on opposite sides of the pawl. The pawl is positioned to engage with the plurality of teeth of the sprocket when the sprocket rotates. The noisemaker creates an audible alert when the pawl engages the plurality of teeth and thereafter disengages from the plurality of teeth of the sprocket.

Abstract: A reel drag sound producing device is provided for producing sound in conjunction with a drag function of a dual-bearing reel having a reel unit with a main gear. The drag sound producing device includes a rotation member being disposed in the reel unit to be rotated unitarily with the main gear, a pivot shaft being disposed in the reel unit, a hitting member being disposed onto the pivot shaft and to be moved between a silent position and a sound producing position, a drive mechanism being configured to move the hitting member in a first direction between the sound producing position and the silent position in conjunction with rotation of the main gear in a fishing-line winding direction and moved in a radial direction for a predetermined distance, and an urging member being configured to urge the hitting member towards the sound producing position.

Abstract: A fishing reel includes a central shaft, a drive gear coupled to the central shaft, a spool connected to the drive gear and winding a fishing line thereon, a drive washer mounted to the central shaft to interlock with the central shaft, an auxiliary washer mounted to the central shaft and having a projection to interlock with the drive gear, and a clicking sound generator. The clicking sound generator includes a click member operated in conjunction with the central shaft or the drive gear and having a spring contact part, and a click spring operated in conjunction with the drive gear or the central shaft and having a protruding part coming into contact with the spring contact part, and an elastic part integrated with the protruding part to put the protruding part in contact with the spring contact part.

Abstract: The spool sound producing mechanism includes a collar member, an operation member, a convexo-concave member, a sound producing member and urging members. The collar member has first and second overlapping apertures. The operation member has a shaft portion that is movably attached and positioned in either the aperture. The convexo-concave member is configured to rotate with a spool. The sound producing member is attached to the shaft portion and allows a tip of the sound producing member to be disposed between or separated from convexes of the convexo-concave member. The urging members are configured to urge the sound producing member to direct the tip of the sound producing member towards the plurality of convexes of the convexo-concave member.

Abstract: The fishing reel comprises a spool for winding in fishing line and a fixed support having an axis of rotation for said spool. The fixed support comprises an upright which is in the immediate vicinity of and parallel to one of the lateral cheekplates of the spool; projecting studs are disposed on the inside face of the upright in a radial distribution around the axis of rotation; the lateral cheekplate of the spool facing the upright includes a recessed annular portion serving to house the studs. One or more radially-extending blades are formed in the cheekplate and project into the recessed annular portion so that on rotation of the spool, each blade emits a characteristic clicking noise when its free end is raised by passing over a stud and falls back against the upright of the fixed support.
