Manual Patents (Class 242/350)
  • Patent number: 6921040
Abstract: A wind-up type storage container is provided that can easily wind up and store a small or large item, such as a bag, a flag, a sheet, rainwear, etc. and from which such items can be easily pulled out. In order to pull in an item to be stored, a button is pressed to move a wind-up shaft downwardly. A pawl receiving portion is engaged with engaging pawls, and a reel portion is interlocked with a winding shaft. When a reel cord is pulled out, the reel portion is rotated, and the item to be stored is pulled to and wound around a winding shaft. When the button is released, the reel cord is rewound by a restoring force of a power spring. The reel cord is repetitively pulled until the item to be stored is completely stored in the main body capsule.

  • Publication number: 20030073558
Abstract: Machine and method for converting paper stock to cushioning material or dunnage in which paper is withdrawn from a supply, passed about an arcuately curved forming bar to impart a lateral curvature to the paper, and then passed between confronting surfaces of feed belts to crumple the curved paper and thereby form the cushioning material, after which the crumpled paper or cushioning material is cut to desired lengths with a knife blade. Operation of both the feed belts and the knife blade is controlled by a foot switch, logic circuitry, and a limit switch which monitors the position of the blade. Depressing the foot switch causes the feed belts to advance, and releasing it causes the belts to stop and the knife blade to advance.

  • Patent number: 5697570
Abstract: A foldable film winding crank for a camera comprising a rotary base, and a two-part handle having a first handle part pivotably connected to the base and a second handle part pivotably connected to the first handle part to permit the two-part handle to be folded lengthwise into a cavity in the base for storage and to be unfolded lengthwise from the cavity to be manually grasped in order to rotate the base for film winding, is characterized in that a pivotable connection between the first handle part and the base and a pivotable connection between the second handle part and the first handle part are located at respective sides of an axis of rotation of the base to initially allow the second handle part to be foldingly pivoted in one direction to the first handle part and then allow the first handle part to be foldingly pivoted together with the second handle part in an opposite direction into the cavity and, conversely, to initially allow the second handle part to be unfoldingly pivoted from the first handle p

  • Patent number: 5555056
Abstract: A photographic camera has manual rewind apparatus including a rotatable driver connectable with a film spool, and a storable crank pivotally mounted on a hub and engageable with the driver for turning the driver in a rewind direction. The crank cams out of engagement with the driver upon reverse rotation. The crank has a handle that enters a recess when the crank is pivoted to a stored position. The handle may be engageable with a shutter release pin located in the recess to release the camera shutter upon manual depression of the rewind crank when stored.

  • Patent number: 5445339
Abstract: A tool formed of a generally cross-shaped configuration defined by a central plate, wherein the plate includes a top edge mounting a first leg thereon medially of the top edge, with a bottom leg mounted medially of a bottom edge of the plate, with the top and bottom legs defined by a respective first and second diameter. The first and second diameters are substantially equal to a first and second diameter defined by respective audio and video cassette construction permitting insertion of the first and second leg within respective audio and video cassettes permitting their winding to remove slack, advance film, rewind film and the like. Further, the organization is utilized in cooperation with a crank handle, the crank handle formed with a crank axle defined by a slot to receive selectively the first or second leg therewithin to enhance a winding procedure.
