Engages Wound Material Patents (Class 242/381.2)
  • Patent number: 8187537
Abstract: The invention concerns a diagnostic test unit for analysing a body fluid comprising a test carrier (test tape 10; test strips 12) provided with test fields (38) for applying the body fluid and a container (14) containing the test carrier, wherein an opening (18) of the container (14) is at least in some areas bordered by a seal (16). According to the invention it is proposed that the opening (18) is screened by a closing foil (22) from the surroundings of the container (14) and that the test tape (10) or a test strip (12) to be dispensed is passed through a passage gap (20) between the closing foil (22) and the seal (16).

  • Patent number: 8021631
Abstract: Body fluid testing device for analyzing a body fluid comprises a test media tape adapted to collect the body fluid. The test media tape comprises a tape and test media portions. A free tape portion without test medium is located between successive test media portions. The testing device further comprises a supply portion. The supply portion comprises a housing in which uncontaminated test media tape is contained. The housing further has an opening for withdrawing test media tape from the housing. The testing device further has a sealing means for closing the opening against the surrounding. A free tape portion of the test media tape is located between a wall of the housing and the sealing means when the sealing means closes the opening. Further aspects concern a test media cassette with sealing means and a method for providing test media while holding them sealed against humidity during onboard storage.

  • Patent number: 7703216
Abstract: A measuring tape device with automatic locking mechanism comprises of a casing, a bobbin that is set within the casing with a spring, a coilable tape that is contained in the casing. One end of the tape is connected to the spring and is wound around the bobbin, while the other end is extended outside through an aperture that is formed at the lower end to of casing, and this other end is connected to a hook member. The device also comprises of a stopper, it consists of an end that is positioned on the linear portion of tape, and an actuator that is connected to the end portion by a linkage part. The actuator is extruded outside and is settled at the surface of the casing. The device includes a hinge joint for fixating the stopper inside the casing and for allowing the stopper to rotate, and an elastic member placed between the casing and the linkage portion.

  • Patent number: 6595451
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tape locking device for tape measures. The tape locking device comprises a locking lever hinged to an upper portion of the wall of the housing in such a way to be rotated frontward and rearward around a hinged joint, and provided with a connecting piece downwardly extending from the locking lever. A cylinder is connected at its first end to a hole formed at the lower portion of the connecting piece, with a coil spring fitted over the cylinder. A wedge-shaped stopper is connected to the second end of the cylinder, and having a desired frictional force. This stopper is elastically biased by the coil spring to be wedged in the gap between the outer circumferential surface of a wound part of the tape around the bobbin and a linear part of the tape led to the slot when releasing the locking lever after drawing a desired length of tape from the slot, so the drawn tape is automatically locked by frictional contact between the stopper surface and the drawn tape surface.
