The mount has apertures (65) which align with studs (75) on a mating mount of the vehicle accessory. The inner mounting plate and the outer mounting plate mount to the vehicle wheel and vehicle accessory respectively, by rotating apertures (17 65) to stop portions (35 71), and is secured by a bolt passing through one of two circular apertures (43 45) or (67 69). Vehicle accessories can be provided like a paddle to self-propel the vehicle in sand, and a wheel to widen the vehicle track.

    Abstract: A wheel winch 22 for a vehicle 10 is provided. The wheel winch 22 of this invention includes a wheel drum surface engaging member 30, having a plurality of spaced aligned apertures 32 formed therein, for coupling to a drive wheel 14 of the vehicle 10. A hollow spool 36 is provided to be coupled to the wheel drum surface engaging member 30. The wheel drum surface engaging member 30 is coupled to the wheel 14 of the vehicle 10 with threaded studs 52 coupled in the apertures 32 and secured thereto by the threaded nuts 54. The spool 36 is also provided with a coupling slot 44 formed therein. Additionally, the wheel winch 22 is provided with a cable 26 having a first slot engaging member 46 at one end thereof for couplingly engaging the cable in the slot 44 of the spool 36 and a second engaging member 48 at another end thereof for coupling the cable around a stationary object 50. This allows the vehicle 10 to be pulled from a mired condition when the vehicle drive wheel 14 is rotated.

A plurality of fingers, with each finger slidably movable in an associated bracket of the plurality of brackets, are deployable from a retracted position at which the fingers lie parallel to the axis of rotation and do not protrude beyond the end face of the wheel, and an extended position at which the fingers extend beyond the end face. When extended, the fingers can engage a rope attached to a stationary object, and when the wheel is rotated, the vehicle can be drawn toward the stationary object thereby rescuing the vehicle from tractionless environments.

    Abstract: A winch attachment for vehicles for aiding in freeing a vehicle that is stuck. The device includes eight tow forks adapted for coupling with a pair of opposed tires of a vehicle, four of the tow forks for each tire. Each of the tow forks have a generally L-shaped configuration. Inner ends of the tow forks have socket adapters disposed thereon for engaging lug nuts of the tires. Outer ends of the tow forks have an elongated slot formed therethrough. The elongated slots of each of the four tow forks are in alignment with one another for receiving a bolt therethrough. The bolt is engaged by a wingnut. A pair of long straps are securable to one of the tow forks of the opposed tires of the vehicle. Outer ends of the long straps have an aperture therethrough. A pair of anchor bars are received through the apertures of the long straps for securement within a recipient surface.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for pulling a vehicle free from mud, etc. using a vehicle drive wheel as a windless or winch and employing an elongated flexible strap, a gripper plate mounted on a leading end of the strap and an anchor plate mounted on a trailing end of the strap. The gripper plate is inserted between the tire and its support surface with upstanding teeth of the gripper plate engaging the tire. The drive wheel is then rotated with the vehicle engine to draw the gripper plate around the tire and wrap the trailing strap around the tire. The gripper plate is then secured to the overlapping strap, the anchor plate is anchored at a remote point aligned with the drive wheel and the vehicle is driven towards the anchor point using the strap to pull the vehicle free.
