Patent number: 8052079Abstract: A swivel machine for wire processing includes a coiler arranged between a cutting-off/insulation-stripping unit and a second swivel arm. The cut length of wire whose leading wire-end has been processed is coiled by means of a coiling disk of the coiler. After the leading wire-end of the cut length of wire has been processed, it is grasped by the coiler. A belt drive then advances the wire by the desired length of the cut length of wire, and simultaneously the coiler coils the advancing wire into a coil. After the coiling operation, a linearly movable stacker unit grasps the coil, and the coiling disk releases the coil. After the trailing wire-end has been processed, the placement unit moves further in the wire advance direction to the deposit. While the trailing wire-end is being processed, and while traveling to the deposit, the coil is provided with a bind.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2008Date of Patent: November 8, 2011Assignee: Komax Holding AGInventors: Jean Paul Celoudoux, Bruno Daugy, Louis Soriano, Beat Estermann

Patent number: 7690544Abstract: The automatic coiling machine is a device for automatically coiling an elongated flexible element, such as a fishing line. The automatic coiling machine includes a housing adapted for mounting to a support surface, such as a wall of a boat. The housing includes at least one sidewall. A drive roller is rotatably mounted to the sidewall by a drive shaft. A drive system, such as a motor, is mounted to the sidewall for selectively and controllably driving rotation of the drive shaft and, thus, the drive roller. An idler roller is rotatably mounted to the sidewall adjacent the drive roller and contacting the drive roller so that rotation of the drive roller drives rotation of the idler roller. The sidewall is angled so that an axis of rotation of the drive roller is angled with respect to the axis of rotation of the idler roller.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2008Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Inventor: Thomas Tuck Zaruba

Publication number: 20090318887Abstract: An enteral pump system for delivering medical fluids unidirectionally includes a disposable fluid delivery set having a repeatable compression portion and an enteral feeding pump. The repeatable compression portion is helically coiled around a central axis to define a cylindrical shape. The compression portion is configured to pump a large volume of medical fluids per stroke. The compressing portion includes at least two adjacent tubing walls joined around the central axis for repeatable compression. The enteral feeding pump is configured to repeatedly and reliably compress the compression portion of the fluid delivery set along the central axis. In operation, the compression portion is repeatably compressed without distortion along the central axis by the enteral feeding pump to flow unidirectionally through the fluid delivery set.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2009Publication date: December 24, 2009Applicant: OST MEDICAL, INC.Inventors: Peter Sacchetti, Ralph Beckman

Patent number: 6780096Abstract: A spiral wound abrasive belt is formed from an abrasive media including a plurality of webs. The webs of the abrasive media may include coated abrasives joined by splicing media or other suitable joining material. Alternatively, the webs may include individual single or multiple layers that form a coated abrasive simultaneously along with the spiral belt without the use of additional joining material. A method of forming the spiral belt includes draping the abrasive media over a fixed hub at an angle to form the spiral belt while abutting the edges of the outermost web and overlapping the outermost web and adjacent web or webs. Heat and pressure may be applied to the joined edges to form a strong bond along the spiral seam. Another method includes introducing the webs forming the abrasive media at an angle and draping the webs over a fixed hub. The abrasive media may then be passed around an adjustable hub that provides tension in the spiral belt while allowing for different circumferentially sized belts.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2000Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Ross A. Patent number: 6290156Abstract: A method and apparatus to wind hose into a hose package such that the hose may later be dispensed from the hose package without twisting. The apparatus includes a drum for winding the hose thereon and an indexer for feeding the hose onto the drum such that the hose forms the hose package. The hose package includes a plurality of first loops forming a first coil adjacent a first end of the drum and a plurality of second loops forming a second coil adjacent a second end of the drum. The first and second loops are alternately formed such that the hose extends from the first coil to the second coil at a crossover point between the coils after each loop is formed. When the hose package is removed from the apparatus an inner end of the hose is inserted between the first and second coils past a periphery of the coils. In this arrangement, the hose may be drawn out from the hose package without twisting of the hose.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1999Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Inventor: C. Allan Jeffrey
