Abstract: An apparatus for exchanging paper rolls includes a paper supply mechanism having an inclined arm and a clamp assembly for receiving and holding a first paper roll; a second-roll hanger assembly arranged above the paper supply mechanism for receiving and holding a second paper roll; a slide rail arranged between the paper supply mechanism and the second-roll hanger assembly; an elevating assembly movably mounted to the slide rail; and a driving assembly for driving the elevating assembly to move along the slide rail. The elevating assembly picks up the second paper roll from the second-roll hanger assembly. To exchange the first paper roll with the second paper roll, the clamp assembly pushes the first paper roll away from the paper supply mechanism, and the elevating assembly lowers down along the slide rail to place the second paper roll in the paper supply mechanism.

Abstract: A fence dispensing apparatus for installing fencing wire along a line of fence posts. The fence dispensing apparatus permits easy setup along with efficient and safe operation. In addition to dispensing wire, the apparatus stretches unrolled wire using a winch and a wire interface. Moreover, the base member connects to a motor vehicle via a hitch receiver or a three-point tractor hookup. As the vehicle travels along a fence line, the apparatus dispenses wire from a vertically aligned spindle and/or from a horizontally aligned roller. The spindle disconnects from the base member, permitting it to be easily loaded with wire and set up for operation. Additionally, a spindle lock and spindle support act in concert to safely hold the loaded spindle in position. Furthermore, a wear plate between the loaded spindle and the base member protects the base member from excessive wear during operation.

It is characterized in that the automatic splicing device (6) is located between the two winders (2, 3) and comprises two diversion rollers (60, 61) which rotate freely on at least one common plate (62), the plate rotating on a axle affixed to a trolley (63) so as to alternately place the diversion rollers (60, 61) in a first connection position and then in a second connection position, corresponding respectively to the working spool, with the trolley (63) being movable in translation from one spool to the other.

Abstract: A device for rotating a web material roll supported on a reel shaft having a pair of ends. The rotating device includes a female drive member coupled to one end of the reel shaft and defining an opening having a non-circular perimeter, such as a square opening. Also included is a male drive device having a rotatably powered drive shaft having an end that is congruent to the non-circular perimeter of the opening in the female drive member. The non-circular perimeter allows the reel shaft, and web material roll, to be positively rotated during unwinding. A telescoping assembly of the male drive device is capable of extending the drive shaft into the opening so as to allow co-rotation of the shaft and female member. An optional roll supporting cart may be employed to rotatably support the web material roll when aligning the male and female drive members.

Abstract: A paper towel dispenser which provides for hands free, automatic feeding of the first sheet of a primary web roll, such as a paper towel roll, into a feed mechanism when its cover is closed. The dispenser also automatically transfers its web feed supply from a primary roll to a reserve roll upon the exhaustion of the primary roll. The present invention eliminates the need for an attendant to thread the leading edge of a primary or reserve roll into the feed mechanism of the dispenser. The dispenser also eliminates wasted paper because it does not begin to feed the reserve roll until the primary roll has expired. The dispenser can include either a manual feed mechanism or a powered feed mechanism. The dispenser relies on a sensor for determining when a portion of the web is absent from a side of the feed mechanism proximate a web discharge opening.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for handling web material paid off from a coil to a downstream end-use machine. The method generally includes automatically adjusting the height of the coil of web material to maintain a consistent payoff line, and includes dekinking the trailing end of the web material to prevent damage to downstream machines. The apparatus generally includes a reel-type uncoiler having a vertically adjustable mandrel and having a payoff roll biased into engagement with the outside diameter of the coil to define a payoff line of the web material. A dekinker is positioned just downstream of the uncoiler to dekink the trailing end of the web material and to thread the leading end of the web material into a downstream feeder. The dekinker includes a threader roll and a breaker roll pivotably mounted about a common pivot axis, wherein a kinked portion of web material is straightened therebetween.

Abstract: Film rolls at the delivery position and the standby position are supported by supporting units. The roll is passed from the standby position to the delivery position by means of the conveying member provided in the roll conveying unit. As a result, it is not necessary to support the rolls at the individual positions by use of the roll conveying unit, thus permitting simplification of the configuration of the unit. The conveying member has a configuration in which the same is attached to a conveying chain put around the sprockets to make it possible to achieve circumferential travel of the conveying member by a single driving motor. When delivering by connecting to the film from the delivery position, the leading end easily comes off the holding unit by inserting the folded leading end of the film from the standby position and holding the same there.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a rolled wire dispensing unit that incorporates a wheeled cart with a deck, a post generally perpendicular to the deck over which a roll of wire may be placed, and a pivoting front yoke. The yoke is attached to the deck slightly rearward of the front edge of the deck so as to allow the front end of the unit to tilt upward and allow the wire roll to be pulled from the post prior to the wire breaking if the wire becomes overly taut. While the unit will allow the wire roll to pull off if the wire becomes overly tight, the unit uses the wire roll's own weight to maintain a degree of tautness as the wire is dispensed. These improvements benefit the user by providing a convenient wire dispensing tool, that eliminates the inconvenience and danger caused by wire snags.

  • Patent number: 6412730
Abstract: A device and a method for storing an elongated plastically deformable member are provided in which, even if an elongated plastically deformable member and a liner are stored in a state of being superposed together and wound on a take-up reel, deformation of portions of the elongated plastically deformable member and non-uniformity of deformation of the elongated plastically deformable member can be suppressed. When a liner and an unvulcanized tread member are taken-up on and stored on a reel, the reel is supported by a driven roller and a drive roller, and the reel is stored in a state of being rotated constantly. As a result, during storage, a load caused by the wound tread member itself is applied uniformly to an entire wound circumference. Therefore, collapsing deformation caused thereby is made uniform along a longitudinal direction, and differences in a configuration of the tread member at respective wound layers do not arise.
