The media hanger/guide further comprises two mounting brackets positioned in the channel, each mounting bracket having an elongated member and each elongated member having a plurality of teeth located thereon. Each mounting bracket also has a support member connected thereto. At least a portion of each support member is located outside of the channel of the media hub. The support members are adapted for lateral movement along the channel of the media hub relative to the top surface of the media hub. The media hanger/guide further comprises two gears positioned in the channel. Each gear is in operable connection with the teeth of one of the mounting bracket's elongated members. The gears are also in operable connection with each other.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2012Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: Datamax-O'Neil CorporationInventor: Mark Allen Hitz

Patent number: 9038937Abstract: A media spindle apparatus for supporting a media roll having media to be delivered to a printing apparatus. The apparatus includes a spindle configured to support the roll. The spindle defines an axial direction about which the roll rotates relative to the printing apparatus to deliver the media to the printing apparatus. A guide member is supported by the spindle and guides the media to the printing apparatus. The guide member is positionable in a first configuration in which a securing mechanism is disengaged and the guide member is translatable substantially in the axial direction relative to the spindle. The guide member is pivotable about the axial direction relative to the spindle to move to a second configuration and thereby engage the securing mechanism to inhibit the guide member from translating in the axial direction relative to the spindle and pivoting from the second configuration to the first configuration.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2012Date of Patent: May 26, 2015Assignee: Brady Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Rudolf W. Riegner, III, Sin Yong Alvin Tay, Brian Flood

Patent number: 8925854Abstract: A paper roll fixing device of a printer is provided. The paper roll fixing device includes a first supporting member and a second supporting member. The first supporting member includes a first supporting protrusion part and plural first auxiliary rollers. The second supporting member includes a second supporting protrusion part and plural second auxiliary rollers. The first supporting protrusion part and the second supporting protrusion part are inserted into two ends of a hollow shaft of a paper roll. Consequently, the paper roll is fixed in the space between the first supporting member and the second supporting member, and supported by the first auxiliary rollers and the second auxiliary rollers. Moreover, especially, the paper roll fixing device is applicable to a variety of paper rolls with different diameters.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2013Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: Primax Electronics Ltd.Inventors: Yi-Liang Chen, Wen-Hsien Yen

Publication number: 20090236462Abstract: A novel system for mounting welding wire spools of different sizes on a mounting spindle of a wire feed system is provided. The invention may reduce or eliminate wire feedability difficulties and welding arc outages arising from misalignment of the wire spool and inconsistent wire feeds. The invention provides a medium and large wire spool mounting system including a spool mounting hub, a movable back plate configured with a locking slot arrangement, and a left threaded nut plate. Furthermore, the invention provides a system for mounting small wire spools on a keyed shaft of a wire feed system comprised of washers, a spring, and a knurled nut. A braking system including washers, a spring, and a knurled nut is provided for the prevention of wire spool free wheeling during non-welding periods.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2009Publication date: September 24, 2009Applicant: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: Marlin Eugene Burns
