Patent number: 7207367Abstract: In an adhesive tape joining method for joining an adhesive tape to a surface of an article, cutting out the adhesive tape along an outer peripheral edge of the article and, then, collecting the unnecessary adhesive tape which has been cut out, the unnecessary adhesive tape is wound and collected so as not to shrink at a cut portion of the adhesive tape in a width direction.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2004Date of Patent: April 24, 2007Assignee: Nitto Denko CorporationInventor: Masayuki Yamamoto

Patent number: 6818088Abstract: An apparatus and method to fabricate a photosensitive drum for an image forming apparatus. The apparatus includes a photosensitive belt supply roll and a double-sided tape supply roll; a bonding unit to bond a photosensitive belt and a double-sided tape together; a cutting unit to cut the bonded photosensitive belt and double-sided tape at a predetermined length from a double-sided tape cover; a rotating unit to rotate the cut photosensitive belt and double-sided tape around a rotary drum having a predetermined size; and a winding unit to wind the double-sided tape cover which is separated from the photosensitive belt and the double-sided tape. An inexpensive photosensitive belt is wound on a large-sized rotary drum by applying tension. Thus, it is possible to mass-produce the photosensitive drum at a low cost.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2002Date of Patent: November 16, 2004Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Jin-Soo Lee

Patent number: 6349894Abstract: An assembly includes an enclosure and a device for storing fiber slack. The device has a pair of spool portions on opposite sides of the device. Each spool portion is shaped so that fiber slack can be wound back and forth between the two spool portions. The device is pivotally mounted within the enclosure, so that the pair of spool portions can be accessed by pivoting the device. Each spool portion may have a semicircular shape. Each spool portion has a radius at least as large as a minimum bend radius for a fiber to be stored on the device. A length of a fiber portion extending between the pair of spool portions is substantially greater than a perimeter of one of the spool portions. The device has top and bottom U-shaped channels connecting the tops and bottoms of the spool portions, respectively. The pair of spool portions and the top and bottom U-shaped channels form an elongated spool for storing fiber, the elongated spool extending around three sides of the device.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1999Date of Patent: February 26, 2002Assignee: Lucent Technologies Inc.Inventors: Bassel Hage Daoud, Christopher M. Publication number: 20010015390Abstract: Mechanical assembly of magnesium alloy with steel or titanium/titanium alloy parts. Because the two major metal parts in the assembly have incompatible ionization energies, a part made from aluminum or zinc alloy, the ionization energy of which in intermediary between the two, or an electric insulator intervenes to prevent electrolytic corrosion between them. Furthermore, clearances between the two major metal parts, owing for example to manufacturing tolerances, are injected with filler. The mechanical assembly may be employed in human-powered rotary machines such as spinning reels and bicycle components.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2001Publication date: August 23, 2001Inventors: Yasuhiro Hitomi, Kenichi Kawasaki, Yasushi Nishimura

Patent number: 6209816Abstract: Various parts in an assembly of parts are made of differing metals having incompatible ionization characteristics. Any two parts which have incompatible ionization characteristics are separated from one another such that corrosion inducing contact therebetween is eliminated. Therefore, the possibility of electrolytical corrosion can be reduced. For example, in one embodiment a spool assembly in a spinning reel includes a spool (12) made of a magnesium alloy mounted on a spool shaft (16). The spool shaft (16) is made of a stainless steel. Stainless steel and the magnesium alloy have ionization characteristics that are not compatible, leading to possible electrolytic corrosion therebetween. However, a sleeve (20) is disposed between the spool (12) and spool shaft (16). The sleeve (20) is made of an aluminum alloy that has ionization characteristics that are compatible with both the magnesium alloy and stainless steel.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1998Date of Patent: April 3, 2001Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventors: Yasuhiro Hitomi, Ken'ichi Kawasaki, Yasushi Nishimura

Patent number: 6027778Abstract: The present invention provides a novel one-piece capstan for a tape cartridge which provides good static dissipative properties and wear resistance. The capstan material of the present invention has a charge decay time of no more than 5 seconds as measured according to Mil B-81705C standard. The capstan material also has a flexural modulus of at least 200,000 psi (1379 MPa). The capstan comprises a hard, dimensionally stable polymer and a static dissipating polymer. The capstan also has an improved structure and geometry which enables the part to be easily molded, reduces drive force requirements with a reduction of material from the prior art design, but with no significant loss of performance properties.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1994Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Assignee: Imation Corp.Inventors: Karunasena A.
