The tube guide has a hexagonal inside surface. Two inside ribs are formed on each surface along the axial direction. Since the upward and downward movements of the spindle reduce the contacting area, the frictional force is remarkably reduced and the spindle is smoothly moved upward and downward. Further, only one surface of the inside rib needs to be broached, the broaching area is remarkably reduced.

  • Patent number: 6145702
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting a minimum liquid level in a liquid supply bottle that utilizes a novel height adjustment means and a method for utilizing such apparatus are provided. In the apparatus, a height adjustment means that is positioned on a base frame of a bottle station for supporting a liquid supply bottle is used. The height adjustment means includes two sliding blocks each having a right-angled triangular cross-section slidingly engaging each other on their hypotenuses. The two sliding blocks may be driven by two screws each threadingly engaging one of the side frames for pushing (or pulling) the sliding blocks toward (or away from) each other such that an elevation of the bottle can be increased (or decreased). The present invention novel apparatus further utilizes a bottle clamp which frictionally engaging the liquid supply bottle and hold it in place while allowing the bottle be moved up and down by slidingly engaging a vertical arm of the clamp with a side frame on the bottle station.

Abstract: An adjustable roll and support mechanism for elongate objects having a round cross-sectional configuration has a support base having a pair of parallel upright tubular members having rigid or collapsible support legs. Elevation posts are positioned in movable telescoping relation within respective tubular members and support a roll positioning head having an internal roll positioning mechanism. A pair of roll assemblies are movably supported on the roll positioning head and have driven relation by the roll positioning mechanism and are moved toward one another or away from one another for selective positioning of the roll assemblies for rotatable support of round objects of differing dimension. The roll assemblies are connected to the roll positioning mechanism by quick disconnect mechanisms to permit the roll assemblies to be changed out to accommodate rotatable support of different types of objects.

  • Patent number: 5329882
Abstract: A small livestock head restraint device is provided which can be temporarily secured to a fence for field use in securely capturing the head of a small animal. The small livestock head restraint device includes a vertical support member typically positioned adjacent to fence railings or a cylindrical pole, and a pair of clamps which can be tightened about the railings or pole to securely fix the support member to the fencing. A slider bracket is attached to the support member, and a mounting shaft, having fixed thereto a headrest arm and the animal headrest, is movable vertically within the slider bracket to adjust the height of the animal headrest after the device has been secured to the fencing. In one preferred form, a pair of rail clamps are adjustably fixed to the support member for engaging generally horizontal fence rails. In another preferred form, a pair of pole clamps are attached to the mounting shaft and pivot to grasp a generally vertical pole therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5301991
Abstract: A ball retrieving and storage cart generally comprises a wheeled carriage that rollingly supports a basket in a ball retrieving position. In an exemplary embodiment, the basket has a front end and a rear end and includes a bottom wall having two side members oriented front to rear and having a normal position spaced apart less than the ball diameter and defining a slotted aperture for entrance of a ball into the basket. In the ball retrieval position, at least one of the side members is a slanted member having a front end higher from the ground than a ball radius and a rear end lower to the ground than the ball radius. At least one of the side members is a deflectable member and is biased to the normal position but is sideways deflectable such that a ball on the ground entering the aperture sideways deflects the deflectable member sufficiently for the ball to pass into the basket. The wheels may define a rolling plane.
