    Abstract: An anchoring fixture for stools capable of adjusting elevation is installed on an axle hub hinged on the top end of tripod legs which rest on the floor. The axle hub has a longitudinal axle hole to hold a screw post fastened to the bottom of a stool. The axle hub has a hinge portion on one side of the top surface. The hinge portion has lugs on two sides to be coupled with one end of two clamping members. The clamping members have another end to be fastened by a fastening element. The hinge portion and the two clamping members have respectively a thread portion which jointly mates and couples with the screw post beneath the stool. Thus the elevation of the stool may be rapidly adjusted upwards and downwards to clamp the screw post tightly.

The outer sleeve has a cammed interior surface that corresponds with the cammed exterior surface of the inner sleeve. In use, the camming coupler is secured to a music desk or other object. An upright support leg is inserted in the inner sleeve, and the outer sleeve is rotated to compress the inner sleeve.

The invention can be embodied to operate passively, without any external source of power, sensor system, or CPU, although they can be added to improve certain usability features. The invention also absorbs or dissipates the shock energy in substantially the minimum distance possible without exceeding the user-defined acceleration limit on the Payload.

    Abstract: A crutch constructed of two adjacently located, elongated, parallel upper and lower bows which can be moved in relationship to each other to form a vertical support of readily varied length. These bows have the same design and are therefore interchangeable, significantly reducing inventory requirements. Each bow has a series of parallel horizontal notches with the bows positioned so that the notches on each bow are on contacting surfaces. A pin inserted into parallel, adjacent notches on the two bows in cooperation with two or more collars or caps on the ends of one end of each bow fixes the relationship between the shafts which, in turn, defines the length of the vertical support. A similar concept can be used to lock a moveable centrally located lower bow between two parallel outer upper bows.
