  • Patent number: 7364129
Abstract: A portable, collapsible stand includes first, second and third substantially rectangularly shaped and rigid panels hinged together so as to be movable between a closed position and an open position. Flexible straps extend between the panels to prevent them from fully opening. Hooks located adjacent the top edge of the first panel allow the stand to be suspended from a horizontally arranged support such as the handle of a piece of luggage or the back of an airplane seat. When so suspended, the panels are in partially opened positions with respect to each other so that the first panel can function as a desk, computer support or a head rest. The second panel includes a plurality of openings formed therein for holding a drinking cup or a pen or other writing utensil. In lieu of suspending the stand, rigid rods or bars movable into position between the panels can maintain them in their open position. Feet at the bottom of the third panel allow the stand to sit on a desk or table or other horizontal surface.

  • Patent number: 7311289
Abstract: A multi-purpose foldable stand is simple in structure and capable of being used on a table as a memo holder, a coffee filter holder, a book holder, and a banana holder, and when not in use, the stand is folded into a compact size for storage or carry. The stand has two identical U-shaped frames. Each of the frames includes a horizontal leg portion, an upright support portion, and a horizontal arm portion, to which spring clips or hooks are attached for suspending articles. Both of the upright support portions are pivotally bound together. When the stand is used, the frames are so pivoted that the horizontal leg portions form an angle of approximately 90 degrees with respect to each other, then memos, a coffee filter, a book, or bananas are suspended from the horizontal arm portions, and so the stand functions as the holder for the article suspended.

  • Patent number: 6412480
Abstract: Detachable legs and side handles for a portable barbecue grill that interlock with each side of a barbecue grill wherein the grill has a flexible base to provide self-leveling of the legs. The leg members, among other things, provide stability against rearward tipping of the grill, provide both a stop to restrict opening of the grill's side panels and rotation of the grill lid or dome, and provide an elongated handle spanning the approximate range of the grill's front-to-ear center of gravity. Also, an alternative handle or side shelf may be held in position by friction clamping or complementary interlocking pins/receptacles after clamping the legs to the sides of the grill. The detachable legs may take on a variety of other shapes, including an inverted U-shape, trapezoidal, partial parallelogram, or a combination thereof. The leg assembly is also segmented so that they fit inside the grill for portability, storage, or shipment.

  • Patent number: 6393748
Abstract: The system includes a plurality of parallel vertically disposed end support structures. Each support structure comprises two vertically disposed support legs. The upper and lower ends of the support legs are connected respectively to each other by upper and lower connecting members that can be extended or collapsed. When the connecting members are both extended the support structure forms a frame support structure and when collapsed, the support legs are in close proximity and parallel to each other, suitable for storage and/or transport. Channel members are removably mounted to the upper and lower ends of the support legs to connect the end support structures to each other when the connecting members of the support legs are extended. A sign panel is mounted between the upper and lower channel members. Optionally, the sign support system has vertically disposed parallel end support members removably mounted to the upper ends of the vertically disposed support legs.

Abstract: A paper easel for supporting one or more sheets of paper on a work surface includes a bendable sheet of material having a center panel separating a right wing panel from a left wing panel. The center panel is divided from the right wing panel by a right crease line such that the right wing panel is pivotable with respect to the center panel along the right crease line. Furthermore, the center panel is divided from the left wing panel by a left crease line such that the left wing panel is pivotable with respect to the center panel along the left crease line. Further, the left wing panel includes a bottom edge for resting on the work surface, and a left foot panel extending forwardly from a lower front portion thereof. The right wing panel also includes a bottom edge for resting on the work surface, and a right foot panel extending forwardly from a lower front portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 6367746
Abstract: A bag holder used to stabilize a plurality of grocery and retail bags during transport in a vehicle. The invention has a plurality of hangers. The hangers provide a releasable means to hold the bag handles. The function of the present invention is to hold together the handles of these bags which in turn prevents the contents of the bags from being spilled. The hanger element is designed in an elongated inverted “U” shape with a “lollipop” shaped end. The plurality of hangers form a rack. This rack of hangers is pivotally attached with a hinge to base members which support the apparatus and provide an upright support for the hangers. The base members when spread apart grip the rack and hold it in a vertical manner. A folding tab on one of the base members keeps the base members in the spread open position. In this open position the grocery bag handles are placed over the hangers and held securely in place.

  • Patent number: 6349507
Abstract: A slat wall structure including a substantially vertical support portion and at least one substantially horizontal web extending from the support portion. An end of the web includes a downwardly depending portion extending longitudinally along the end of the web, with the downwardly depending portion defining an upwardly extending recess. The recess is located below each of the webs, whereby both hook-like engagement brackets and upwardly extending mounting flange brackets can be supported by the slat wall. The web can also include a downwardly extending portion that defines at least one screw boss, wherein screws are receivable to mount the slat wall from its end. A pair of oppositely disposed and mutually spaced vertical end walls having a slat wall located between and attached to the end walls by screws placed through the vertical end walls and into the screw boss to thereby secure a side of the web to the vertical end walls and form an integral upright assembly which may be self-supporting.

Abstract: A panel display having a stretchable structure made of articulated, tubular elements collapsible together with an internal elastic cord. The elements are articulated on a central assembling support for mounting. Some relatively rigid elements are fixed on the support while obliquely diverging away from it so as to form feet with a ground footprint shaped as a regular polygon. Other elements form relatively flexible bows each of which will respectively support at its free end a suspendible panel in its middle.

Abstract: The invention provides a playstation that is configured to be stronger, less expensive to manufacture, and easier to assemble. The playstation includes a Y-shaped support that has a top section, a lower left section and a lower right section. The playstation also includes a cross-beam having a first cross-beam secured to the left side of the top section on the Y-shaped support and a second cross-beam secured to the right side of the top section on the Y-shaped support. The playstation further includes a left leg secured to the lower left section of the Y-shaped support and a right leg secured to the lower right section of the Y-shaped support. Using the Y-shaped support of the present invention allows the playstation to be readily assembled. The assembled playstation also provides a solid support structure for securing one or more children's accessories to the playstation.

  • Patent number: 6244011
Abstract: A display framework collapsing from an inverted V-shaped display framework to a compact configuration includes rods, hubs, and a fastening mechanism. Each rod pivotally joins to another rod by a scissors-type connection intermediate the rod ends. In addition, the end portion of each rod pivotally joins to a hub, where each hub may receive a plurality of rods. As configured, each rod enjoys pivotal movement in relation to the hub along a single axis of revolution. The rods rotate about this single axis of revolution from the collapsed compact configuration, where the rods are substantially parallel to one another, to the erect inverted V-shaped configuration, where the rods radiate outwardly from one another and the display framework includes a front face, a rear face, and a top. In this erect configuration, the display framework provides display surfaces on both the front and rear faces.
