Single Horizontal Pivot And Sliding Joints Patents (Class 248/286.1)
  • Patent number: 6450467
Abstract: A keyboard supporting member has a generally planar keyboard support surface whose orientation is adjustable. A keyboard engaging member defines aligned incline defining slots on opposite sides of a center section. A second, workstation engaging member allows the user to move the keyboard back and forth with respect to a workstation. This allows the user to move the keyboard between a storage position and an in use position. A linkage interconnects the two members for adjusting a relative position of the keyboard engaging member with respect to the workstation engaging member thereby allowing the keyboard position and orientation to be controlled by the user. The linkage includes a first elongated member having one end rotatably mounted to the workstation engaging member which has an arcuate slot at one end spaced from the end that is connected to the workstation engaging member.

  • Publication number: 20020088910
Abstract: A system for providing support and position control of a monitor. In one embodiment, a method of supporting a monitor includes converting an ascending energy storage member force curve into a substantially constant supporting force against the monitor. In one aspect, a method, of supporting a monitor includes providing an energy storage member and a cam which are cooperatively positioned so as to move relative to each other along the path of motion. As the energy storage member moves along the path relative to the cam, the cam displaces the energy storage member and thereby changes a force applied by the energy storage member on the cam, and wherein the cam converts the force applied by the energy storage member into a supporting force on the monitor.

  • Patent number: 6322031
Abstract: A keyboard support assembly includes first and second arms which interconnect from a desktop mounting plate to a keyboard support platform. The first arm connects directly by pivot connections between the desk mounting plate and the keyboard support platform. The second arm connects from the desk mounting plate to the first arm and acts as a brace for the first arm. A locking wedge mechanism locks the arms together when weight is placed on the support platform due to engagement of an actuating arm which projects from the keyboard support platform and activates the wedge mechanism. Release of the weight or force on the platform releases the wedge locking mechanism and permits pivotal movement of the arms and reorientation of the platform.
