Patent number: 5897090Abstract: The puck for a sample tube includes a housing, a spring device and an end cap. The spring device has an annular base portion and angularly spaced spring arms that extend upwardly from the base portion and then bend downwardly toward the base portion. The end cap includes a hub portion around which the spring device is mounted. The cap with the spring device are fixed at one end of the housing and a portion of the spring arms extend into the interior space of the housing. The downwardly directed portion of the spring arm includes a sample tube engaging portion that is substantially parallel with a central axis of the housing. Thus a sample tube inserted in the puck engages the sample tube engaging portions of the spring arms which exert a biasing force against the sample tube. The spring arms provide an optimum restraining force against the sample tube to permit easy insertion and removal of the sample tube from the puck.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1997Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Bayer CorporationInventors: Gary Thomas Smith, David Patrick O'Bryan, Bingham Hood Van Dyke, Michael John Campanelli

The collar (26) is mounted to the base (24) and defines an opening (30) dimensioned to receive the container (22) therethrough. A flexible sleeve (32) is mounted to the collar (26) and extends around and downwardly from the collar (26) to define a passageway (34) which is formed to receive the container (22) when positioned through the opening (30). An elastic band (36) is mounted to one of the base (24) and the sleeve (32) and is positioned below the retaining collar (26). Further, the band (36) extends around the passageway (34) and is sufficiently resilient to substantially perimetrically and laterally support the container (22) about a midportion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1992Date of Patent: January 18, 1994Assignee: Paccar Inc.Inventors: Glenn E. Patent number: 5221069Abstract: A telescoping support bracket for providing convenient installation of wall mounted speakers and the like comprises a body attachable to an architectural structure such as a wall or ceiling and a telescoping member slidably movable relative to the body to which a bezel may be attached. The bezel is configured to receive and attach the desired component. Movement of the telescoping member relative to the body provides depth adjustment to compensate for varying wall covering thickness such that a desired surface of the component may be mounted flush with the outside surface of the architectural structure. Thus, a speaker, for example, may be quickly mounted with the grill flush to the outside surface of a wall. The telescoping mount bracket of the present invention thereby eliminates the need to perform a custom installation wherein custom brackets and/or other fixtures must typically be fabricated.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1992Date of Patent: June 22, 1993Assignee: Dana InnovationsInventors: Scott Struthers, William J.
