  • Patent number: 5193304
Abstract: A plant pot carrier is provided, generally in the form of a ring of lesser diameter than the top of the pot, to support the pot. Preferably, the ring is circular in cross-section and nearly cylindrical but tapered slightly to match the taper of the upper rim of a plant pot. In the preferred embodiment, leading from opposite upper sides of the ring are two flexible straps, which may be bent upwardly to meet each other and which include complimentary means for fastening one to the other, thereby forming a loop which can be used as a carrying handle. At least the lower periphery of the ring includes several inwardly directed tabs or a continuous flange which engages the underside of the lip commonly formed by the annular ring at the top of a typical plant pot. Preferably, several spaced tabs or a continuous flange are also provided at the upper margin of the ring, to engage the upper portion of the plant pot.

  • Patent number: 5139222
Abstract: A beverage container holding apparatus (10) for holding conventional cups of various sizes and conventional beverage cans, includes a body (12). An outer ring member (22) and an inner ring member (32) are pivotally mounted to the body by a pin (40). Large and small cups (52, 60) are supported in generally circular openings (24, 34) by supporting edges (25, 35) in the inner and outer ring members respectively. A conventional can (62) is supported in the inner ring member and on a finger (42) which projects outward from a lower portion of the body. The finger has an upturned end (44) which is adapted to be accepted in a recess in the bottom of the can. The finger also serves to hold the inner ring member in a retracted position when it is not in use. A tab (46) on the lower portion of the body holds the outer ring member in the retracted member when the outer ring member is not in use.

  • Patent number: 5118059
Abstract: The specification discloses a support apparatus for suspending an article from a longitudinally extending member having at least one flattened side. The support apparatus comprises a support member and a bracket member. The support member substantially surrounds the longitudinally extending member and contains a portion which conforms to the flattened portion. The bracket member comprises two engaging projections and a holding portion. The engaging projections penetrate perforations formed in the support member and contact an underside of the longitudinally extending member. Notches may be formed on the engaging projections to lock the bracket member in to an extended position relative to the longitudinally extending position.

  • Patent number: 5116275
Abstract: A soft, lightweight disc is capable of being used as a tossing toy or twirled around a finger. The disc is circular with an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter and contains a hole centrally in its body. The disc can be constructed of soft buoyant material to enhance floating. For amusement, a doll, or a soda can, and the like could be secured in the central hole. The doll is spherical and fits securely inside the inner perimeter of the disc. An annular disc can be used to rigidify the lower surface of the tossing toy and enhance air flotation and lift. A pair of like annular discs can be used to form a tossing toy.

Abstract: This invention relates to brackets that are held in place on a smooth surface by means of suction cups. More particularly, it relates to formed rod bracket elements that are formed in a manner such that when the invention is in use a portion of the bracket element becomes a fulcrum resting upon the flattened surface of the suction cup at a point generally below the central hub of the suction cup to which hub the bracket element is attached. A variety of bracket elements are contemplated such as for use in supporting potted plants, suspending hanging objects such as hanging plants or ornamental devices, and supporting shelves or small platforms.

  • Patent number: 5009380
Abstract: A horizontally disposed generally planar frame has an opening for removably holding a kettle or bowl-like container such as an outdoor grill nested in the opening with the frame extending over a railing along an edge of a deck. A bracing member is attached to the end of the frame at the railing and extends downward well below the railing and a pair of leg members extend downward from opposite sides of the frame opening and are angled toward the bracing member with means for removably securing the lower ends of the legs to the bracing member. The legs and the bracing member may be pivotably attached to the frame so when not in use they can be folded up for convenient storage. Alternatively, for smaller, relatively lightweight bowl-shaped grills the support legs can be eliminated.

Two bent clip elements attached to the edge of the flange and a lower clip element is attached to the bottom of the bowl. An L-shaped gusset connects the top clip elements to the bottom element stiffening the clips and moving the flex point from the juncture with the flange to the bends in the clip. This strengthens the clips and permits wider flexing to receive thicker plates without cracking or breaking.
