Abstract: An electricity disconnect apparatus adapted for use with a housing which has the electrical connection inside/at a ceiling or exposed electrically connected device such as a baffle which contains a socket which can be electrically disconnected from the electrical connection of the housing so that the baffle and a source of illumination such as a lightbulb contained therein can be lowered. The lowering of the baffle and an electrical disconnection from the hardwired electricity in the ceiling enables the baffle and lightbulb to be lowered by a pulley cable system. The electrical disconnect and pulley and cable system enable the baffle and source of illumination to be lowered so that it can be reached by a person standing on the floor.

The adjustment mechanism includes a first slide substrate that slides with respect to the support member in a first direction perpendicular to the wall and adjusts the position of the projector in the first direction, a substrate fixed to the first slide substrate, a first rotating substrate that rotates with respect to the substrate, a second rotating substrate that rotates with respect to the first rotating substrate about an axis parallel to the wall and perpendicular to the substrate, and a turning member that adjusts a rotation of the second rotating substrate and has a rotating pivot perpendicular to the base. The second rotating substrate rotates about the axis by rotation of the turning member.
Abstract: A modular lighting system for providing light in various areas includes one or more canopies, a set of buses, a set of hangers for supporting the bars from canopies and, optionally other supports, a set of pendants with light emitting elements and a set of hangers for supporting the pendants from the bars. The bars include two segments with conductive rails disposed or imbedded in their inner surfaces. The hangers have one or two rods and bases shaped and sized for mounting on the bars with the rods contacting the conductive rails. A canopy with ferrules is used to attach the system to the ceiling or other structural surface. The canopy includes a cup and ferrules extending through the cup wall and supporting hangers attached thereto. The ferrules further provide electric power to the hangers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for adjustably mounting a tablet PC or other electronic device for hands-free emplacement in a diverse range of environments. This continuation-in-part application emphasizes varieties of a subcombination apparatus that provides integrated mounting and adjusting means for use either with the present invention or with separate unspecified other devices and objects. The apparatus of the present invention attaches to various surfaces via a mounting means comprising an adjustable suction cup connected to hanger rotatable in multiple dimensions wherein the movement of adjustable parts is regulated by built-in, easily-reversible locking mechanisms. The invention, used with or without the present subcombination apparatuses, enables stable and precise positioning of personal electronic devices in almost any situation where rapid, impromptu, or reversible deployment is desired.
Abstract: A video display system having a plurality of portable video support structures. Each of the portable video support structures includes at least one base support assembly and at least one lift support assembly having a lifting device configured to lift a plurality of video display subcomponents and a retention device receiving and supporting the plurality of video display subcomponents. One or both of the lifting device and the retention device is capable of movement to position the plurality of video display subcomponents and the video display subcomponents detachably engaged with one another to form a substantially continuous display surface. A method of assembling a video display system and a video support structure are also disclosed.

Abstract: An, adjustable, retractable hanging system that enables hangers to be easily attached, moved, and removed from a ceiling or wall rail. The hanger, which houses a spring-loaded reel and a retractable cable, is backed with a pressure-clip or in an alternate embodiment, a raised platform. The hanger affixes to a ceiling or wall rail by means of a pole and cup assembly. Once attached to a ceiling or wall, the retractable cable within the hanger extends to receive the object to be hung. The cable is reached by means of a hook that is affixed to the pole and cup assembly and is lowered to within arm's reach. An adjustable cable-stop, which is also attached to the cable, allows individuals the ability to adjust the suspending height of the object to be hung.
Abstract: A hoist system having a drum primarily self-contained within a batten, for raising and lowering lighting, sound equipment, curtains and the like in a performance environment. The hoist system may be adapted with safety mechanisms including an overload sensor and/or a slack line detector. The system may be provided in the form of a point hoist. Abstract: An adjustable, retractable hanging system. The hanger, housing a spring-loaded reel and a retractable cable, is attached to a ceiling or exposed ductwork by either opposing flanges or bonding material that is located on the hanger's flat exterior housing wall. A cup, lined with a flexible gasket and having a fin-like appendage on its surface, holds the hanger and is also attached to a pole. The cup and pole assembly attaches the hanger to a ceiling or exposed ductwork without the use of a ladder or any elevating device. After the hanger is attached, the cup's fin-like appendage is used to engages the clip on the cable, allowing the user to lower the clip to within reach. An adjustable cable-stop, which is also attached to the cable, allows the user to adjust the suspended height of the material to be hung.

Abstract: A clip for securing a banner to a banner mounting rail of apparatus for raising and lowering a banner in accordance with the invention includes a clamshell housing having two halves hinged together at one side of each housing half. One of the housing halves has at least one pin extending outwardly therefrom and the other of the housing halves having a receptacle in which the pin is received when the housing halves are closed together, wherein the pin pierces a banner received between the two housing halves when the two housing halves are closed together. An apparatus for raising and lowering the banner includes a housing, at least one cable secured to the rail, and a motor that winds and unwinds the cable on a tube arranged within the housing. The banner has a plurality of clips secured to the banner with the clips received in the inner channel of the rail.

The system includes a hoist having a motor that drives a traction mechanism designed to cooperate with the rope, and a reactive power reducing input power system in electrical communication with the motor and the constant frequency input power source. The reactive power reducing input power system includes an AC-DC converter and a regulator system, wherein the regulator system is in electrical communication with a DC-AC inverter that is in electrical communication with the motor. The system may include an isolation system to electrically isolate the DC-AC inverter from the motor when the DC-AC inverter is not transmitting power to the motor. The system may accept multiple alternating current voltage sources including both single phase and three phase sources.

Abstract: The invention is a suspension apparatus for maintaining conduits (hoses, cables, wires, tubing) in desirable positions to prevent conduit abrasion, drag, and friction damage. The suspension apparatus connects a series of conduit guides, having bores through which conduits run, with a guy wire assembly that holds the conduits in a desired position. The guy wires are held by a tension cable connected to a tension reel installed on a mounting. The ends of the guy wires are connected by brackets to mounting structures in a way that provides for the majority of tension forces and system movement to be accounted by the guy wires instead of the conduits. One embodiment is used to manage cables and hoses installed on tractor-trailer rigs having hoses and cables that extend along the length of the trailer. A more particular embodiment includes an installation on a tandem slider trailer with an adjustable wheel base.

The cable extends out of the reel box and attaches to a ceiling fixture. The motor rotates the cable reel to wind and unwind the cable. A hollow female cone is connected below the reel box. The cable passes through the female cone. A male cone is attached to the cable below the female cone. The male cone has is adapted to fit inside the female cone. Electrical contact rings are disposed on the inner surface of the female cone for house wiring and the outer surface of the male cone for fixture wiring. When the male cone is in the female cone, the electrical contact rings operatively connect.

In some examples, the hanger includes a body configured to support the item and lines configured to bear tension, the lines supporting the body from corners of the structure. The motor includes a shaft rotatable in first and second directions and at least one drum coupled to the shaft. A cable is disposed about the drum, whereby the cable is selectively extended or retracted by rotating the shaft in one of the first and second directions. The base assembly includes at least one first datum fitting disposed on the base. The shuttle assembly is capable of supporting a fixture and is movable between a docked state and a deployed state. The shuttle assembly includes at least one second datum fitting configured to mate with the first datum fitting when the shuttle assembly is in the docked state.
Abstract: An equipment positioning system includes a reel apparatus, equipment and a control system. An equipment positioning apparatus is secured to cables forming at least three angled parallelograms extending between the reel apparatus and the equipment positioning apparatus. The cables are for positioning the equipment positioning apparatus and the equipment based upon signals from the control system. The cables are cooperatively extended or retracted by the reel apparatus thereby positioning one or more of the equipment positioning apparatus and the equipment. The cables forming the at least three angled parallelograms maintain the equipment positioning apparatus and the equipment in a stable orientation during operation of the equipment positioning system.
Abstract: An elevating billboard and control method thereof, which includes a hollow column, a billboard stent, and a windlass controlling a motor, forward relay and back relay, wherein a hollow cylinder is fixed with the billboard stent and rings the column so as to slide along the column up and down, a fixed pulley disposed on the top of the column, a free end of a guy cable of the windlass connecting with the hollow cylinder by the fixed pulley. By using the motor of the windlass and the fixed pulleys, the elevating billboard is easy to assemble, disassemble or maintain, and is capable of completing the up and down movement easily and quickly. And using the real-time monitor of the anemoscope, the elevating billboard completes the up and down movement easily and quickly by wind scale.

Abstract: Improvements in a mount for attaching a television of projector to an overhead or ground structure is disclosed. The mount allows for spin, side to side and front to back angle adjustment. The adjustment components are formed from the present projector mount uses metal component having a rack comprising a plurality of formed teeth that are engageable in the recessed side of a crosshead screwdriver that is trademarked as a Phillips screwdriver. The recesses of the crosshead screwdriver act as a pinion gear in the rack to adjust the mounted angle of a projector on the projector mount. This configuration reduces parts count, size and cost without compromising functionality. The axis of rotation of both the side-to-side and front-to-back pass through the projector mount.

Abstract: A stowable device for ejecting fluids onto the underside and wheel regions of a vehicle includes a base member joined at one end to a handle member such that the angle between the members can be controllably varied and retained at a desired angle. A source of fluid is coupled through flexible tubing terminating in a fluid jet disposed adjacent the base member distal end. The desired angle is determined by a length of cord extending from base to handle member. The exposed cord length is user-controllable by lockably spooling excess cord length into a rotatable spool reservoir attached to the handle member. User-adjustment of the desired angle also determined handle height above ground. Alternatively, the desired angle (and handle height above ground) is user-determined by adjusting effective length of a rigid rod.

Abstract: A lifting reel with a four-line wire structure includes a fixed body fixed to a ceiling of a structure, first and second drums installed to the body at a predetermined interval and rotated by a driving motor, wires respectively connected to the first and second drums, and first, second, third and fourth guide rollers arranged on a top of a lifting body at regular intervals and suspended on the wires to form a four-line wire. A wire-twisting prevention device is installed between an end of the wire connected to the first drum and an end of the wire connected to the second drum so as to connect both wires with each other. The wire-twisting prevention device includes bearings installed to the ends of the wires to be rotatable, respectively. The bearings prevent the wires from being twisted while the wires are wound around or unwound from the drums.
Abstract: A ceiling mounted lift (200), of the type having a support frame (210) housing a drive mechanism (240) that operates to raise and lower a lifting platen (22) using a fabric drive roller (244), has a stabilizer (230), and is small enough to fit between standard ceiling joists. Preferred stabilizers have free movement in substantially only one plane and such arrangement is aided by the use of a bearing and hardened washers. Lifts according to the present invention can safely have a travel distance of up to 50 feet, and can manage payloads up to 1000 pounds.
Abstract: An improved hoist for raising and lowering a weighted object secured to a hoist cable, wherein the improvement comprises a safety switch in series with an up-down switch of the hoist. The safety switch has an actuating member with spaced-apart first and second portions on either side of the hoist cable and proximate the take-up shaft of the winch, and, when the hoist cable becomes unweighted or becomes wound upon the take-up shaft in an improper direction, the hoist cable moves the actuating member and prevents the up-down switch from applying power to the winch motor, thereby disabling the winch motor.
