An attachment member extending between the body section and the duct includes spherical ends that are seated on the first and second washers to accommodate misalignments during assembly.

  • Patent number: 8544807
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a recessed electric fixture in a hole in a support surface having a housing and flexible member with attached spring clips to secure the housing against the support surface is disclosed. The flexible member and spring clips are attached to the recessed electric fixture by tightening members, and inward pressure applied to the tightening members causes the flexible member to bend so that the spring clips are moved inwardly towards the housing, allowing the spring clips and the flexible member to pass through the hole in the support surface. The flexible member unbends when the pressure on the tightening members is removed, allowing the spring cops to move outwardly from the housing so that a surface-bearing section of the spring clips bears against the back side of the support surface and retains the electric fixture in the support surface hole.

Abstract: A hands-free mount and a manufacturing method for a hanging structure thereof are disclosed. The hands-free mount includes a mount body and a hanging arm. The mount body is formed by a bottom shell and a top shell coupled mutually. The hanging arm includes a metal substrate and inner and outer coatings wrapping the metal substrate. The outer coating has a chamfered end located outside the bottom shell and inclined at an angle. The manufacturing method for the hanging structure of the hands-free mount uses an over-molding process to fully wrap the stainless steel core, so as to endow the hanging structure with good appearance and soft touch and prevent the product from rusting. Using the hanging structure as the hanging arm, the hands-free mount has improved firmness, appearance and touch.

Abstract: An adaptor band is flexible, C-shaped, and includes a torsion spring receiver. Additionally, the adaptor band includes one or more slots for receiving a screw to fasten the adaptor band to an internal surface of a pre-existing light housing. The adaptor band is compressed and inserted within the pre-existing housing that does not have torsion spring receivers already therein. Once inserted, the adaptor band is released, thereby expanding and pushing against the internal surface of the housing. The adaptor band is fastened to the internal surface of the housing without having to hold the adaptor band in a fixed position. The torsion spring receivers receive torsion springs coupled to other lighting components, including light modules and trim modules.

Abstract: An installer is installed in a hole in a ceiling or a wall and includes a speaker frame and two connective units. The speaker frame may fix down a speaker and has a circumferential edge. The two connective units are provided on the speaker frame and either connective unit has a connective flexible strip, which may contract or expand laterally by moving in the longitudinal direction. First, as the two connective flexible strips contract inwardly in the radial direction, the speaker may be allowed to pass and then be placed in the hole. Then, as the two connective flexible strips expand outwardly in the radial direction, the diameter formed by the two connective units is larger than that of the hole. Now, the outer layer of a wall or a ceiling is sandwiched in between the circumferential edge and the two connective flexible strips.

Abstract: A recessed light fixture has a plurality of fasteners for securing a can or top hat of the recessed light fixture to a substrate, e.g., sheetrock ceiling and/or open frame mounting plate. Each of the plurality of fasteners comprise a clevis bracket, a clevis hook having perpendicular tabs that rotatably attach the clevis hook to the clevis bracket. When the recessed light fixture is inserted into an opening of the substrate, the clevis hooks rotate out of the way into slots in a wall of the recessed light fixture can. Once the clevis hooks clear the substrate, the clevis hooks rotate back through the wall of the recessed light fixture can. Then the clevis brackets are slideably moved toward the substrate, whereby gripping portions of the clevis hooks will engage the substrate and thereby hold the recessed light fixture to the substrate.
