Abstract: A portable easel with adjustable board support which has a plurality of legs pivotally joined together by a head, the legs of which may be selectively spread apart when set up as an easel and folded together when collapsed, each leg composed of multiple interlocked sections biased together when in extended position but which may be manipulated for separation and folding into a bundle one section against another section for storage and transport, and a board support mounted on at least one leg which may be selectively adjustably moved to a desired position on any of the sections and moved against the leg on which it is mounted for storage and transport and extended away from the leg for holding a display on the easel when set up.

Abstract: An adjustable, storable holder for supporting a book or other article to be read or viewed in an open position is provided. The holder comprises: (a) a generally rectangular shaped base member with an upper surface having a series of peg holes in sets of two; (b) from about two to 20 pegs of at least two lengths, with at least two pegs of each length; (c) a viewing member which is hinged to the upper surface of the base member, and which has a central transparent panel; and (d) a compartment in the base member for storage of the pegs. The holder has an open position in which at least two matched pegs project from the upper surface, and support the reading article. The viewing member rests relatively flat against the pages of the reading article and at an angle to the upper surface when the holder is in use. The holder has a closed position for storage of the holder, in which the viewing member lies flat against the upper surface of the base member.

Abstract: A portable book stand is adapted for attachment to the back of a pew, bench, chair or similar item, as well as free-standing use on a flat surface such as a table. The book stand may include two separate folding arms attached to the rear surface of a platform on which a book rests. The angle of the platform relative to the reader can be varied by placing the end of one of the folding arms into a selected one of a plurality of grooves in the other folding arm. An attachment arm is used in conjunction with the two folding arms to attach the book stand to the back of a pew, chair, bench or similar support. One folding arm is mounted on a folding assist segment, allowing one folding arm to fold on top of the other without interference.

Abstract: A music stand including a tripod, a telescopic rod installed on a tripod, a connector installed on the telescopic rod, a music rest installed on the connector, and a transverse tube installed on the connector. The music rest is formed by a plate frame formed by an L shape plate and a foldable plate pivotally installed on a transverse rod. The transverse rod of the music rest passes through the transverse tube on the connector. The transverse rod is movable within the transverse tube so that the foldable plate is turned downwards to be on the L shape plate. The music rest is pushed downwards in that the connector is pivotally installed on a top of the telescopic rod, two cambered plates are installed below the connector, and a cambered groove is formed on the cambered plate. A positioning stud passes through the cambered groove and is screwedly installed on the telescopic rod. By loosing or tightening the positioning stud the music rest on the connector can be easily turned.

At least one pair of bottom arms creates legs for supporting the center beam. At least a further pair of top arms may be engaged to the center beam to allow engagement of a sheet larger than can be accommodated by the center beam to the apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention provides a lightweight and inexpensive portable desk useful as a support for an article, a book, a magazine, a lap-top computer, a drawing, a photograph, a painting, writing utensils, and the like. The portable desk comprises just two integral components, a desk member and a leg member. Some unique features of the portable desk of the present invention include: 1) a capacity to vary the tilt angle according to the needs of a particular user and work setting and 2) the leg member serves as a base to support the desk member and includes a projection that allows for efficient storage/transportation of the portable desk. Thus, the portable desk of provides several working configuration at various inclinations and can be assembled in a securely connected compact storage/transportation configuration.

Abstract: A portable stand for holding a laptop computer is capable of folding to a compact state for storage purposes. The portable stand includes an elongated base member with a pair of base feet to rest on a floor surface, a set of vertically extending post members, and an elongated platform member with a pair of support wings to hold the laptop computer in a position ready for use. The base feet are moveably attached to the elongated base member to swing from a compact position juxtaposed the base member to an extended position at substantially right angles to the base member. The post members are moveably attached to one another, moveably attached to the elongated base member, and moveably attached to the elongated platform member. The base feet and the support wings swing substantially horizontally from the base member and the support member, respectively, while the post members swing substantially vertically relative to one another and to the elongated base and support members.

Abstract: A portable workstation or office foldable into a transportable unit including top and bottom parts hingedly connected to one another so that the top part is pivotable with respect to the bottom part between open and closed positions. Abstract: A support for sheet music on a piano type instrument comprises a longitudinal block positioned on the ledge in front of the music stand and behind the raised ridge along the front of the ledge. The block has a trapezoidal cross section with a rearwardly inclined upper surface to hold the music pages against the music stand while raising the level of the bottoms of the music sheets above the raised ridge to permit a pianist to turn the pages freely without interference by the ridge.

The platform comprises a central member and a pair of laterally movable frame members disposed on each side of the central member. A pair of panels are pivotally attached at a proximal end thereof to the platform proximate the central member substantially between the upper and lower transverse sections, with retaining means thereon for securely retaining the written materials or the like in a secure position on the panels. Attachment means on the pivotable panels allow the pivotable panels to be adjustably attached to the frame members to accept and adapt to the written materials.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved music stand that comprises a tripod, a telescopic rod, a music rest, and a connector. The telescopic rod can be disposed on the tripod and the telescopic rod can be readily adjusted for its height. The music rest is configured by an upper half and a lower half that are pivotally connected with each other. By this arrangement, the upper half can be folded onto the lower half. The rear portion of the music rest is provided with a connecting rod that is arranged in traverse direction. The connector has a T-shape configuration and the connecting rod is inserted into the upper portion of the connector. The lower portion of the connector is pivotally attached to the upper end of the telescopic rod and it can be rotated in traverse direction. The upper half of the music rest can be folded onto the lower half of the music rest. The connector can be rotated such that the coupling rod is arranged in parallel with the telescopic rod. The tripod can be retracted.

Abstract: A stretcher for a canvas that includes three co-planar elongated members centrally foldable are pivotally interconnected with two horizontal elongated members. One of the elongated members has longitudinal slots along which one of the ends of each of the horizontal elongated members is sidably connected. Upper and lower canvas holders are slidably and adjustably mounted to the third elongated member, keeping the canvas rigidly in place. A supporting leg is removably and hingedly mounted to a predetermined position of the third elongated member and with a spacer member permits a user to achieve a desired inclination for the canvas being supported, when in working state. For storage or transportation, the elongated members are brought in abutting relationship with each other and the horizontal pivoting members are allowed to rotate sliding out one of their respective ends. Then, the elongated members are centrally folded and secured with straps.

The selection arm is rotatably coupled to the base. A viewing position can be selected by rotating the base to a desired position. A desired position can correspond to an upright position, whereby the electronic device can be viewed horizontally, or to a gently sloping position, whereby the electronic device can be viewed from above. Once the base is in the desired position, the selection arm can be inserted into a corresponding positioning receptacle located on the mounting plate. Multiple positioning receptacles permit multiple viewing positions, thus enhancing the viewing options for the user of the electronic device. When no longer needed, the viewing stand folds flat against the electronic device to maintain a narrow profile.

The apparatus is also collapsible for ease of transport and/or storage.

Abstract: A novel portable collapsible stand for facilitating holding the pages of an open book for reading and having a lower resting sheet hinged at its bottom edge to an upper book-supporting sheet having a lower edge provided with a ledge upon which the bottom edges of the opened book pages may rest and are automatically restrained from turning or movement by a page-restraining surface resiliently pressed thereagainst by a resilient hinge between the outer edge of the ledge and the bottom edge of the page-restraining surface.

Abstract: A folding portable support stand suitable for a document or book. In the open configuration, the support stand is comprised of hinged triangular panels forming a tetrahedral stand assembly which support a pair of open covers forming an inclined angle with a horizontal surface such as a table. A prismatic ledge assembly is provided along the lower edge to retain the supported object on the covers and provide stiffness to the support stand in the open configuration. In the closed configuration, the support stand forms a flat rectangular shape with the covers on the outside surface and all other elements of the support stand folded within the covers. The support stand can be manufactured from a single sheet of material, and there are provisions for printed material on the surfaces of the support stand. Preferably, the support stand is manufactured of cardboard or paperboard, but alternatives include metal, plastic, and vinyl.

At least one leg is coupled to each tray member and movable between an operative position supporting the desktop surface and a stored position within the hollow interior. Abstract: A device, that is collapsible and portable, for the holding and viewing of books and other matter in an upright reading position on a horizontal surface. It is comprised of a main book support (10), a proportionally shorter support member (12), and a book rest (14). Two tabs (16a&b), on the book rest (14), hold a book or other matter against the main book support (10). The device is hinged (18 and 20) in such a manner that the support member (12) and the book rest (14) can only extend to a predetermined degree relative to the main book support (10). In the closed position, they rest snug against the main book support (10) and the return (30) on their respective sides, creating a compact unit for easy storage or transport.

Abstract: A sheet-supporting stand or easel includes two or more legs, at least one of which is adjustable in length, so as to vary the angle of the stand relative to the ground. A U-shaped mast provides a carriage area for holding one or more sheets, and a pair of clamping devices, mounted to the mast, clamp the sheets from opposite sides. The legs can be collapsed and pivoted around their mounting to the mast, such that the entire assembly can be transported in a generally flat and compact configuration. A wheel may be attached to one or more of the legs, to facilitate movement of the stand along the ground. The wheel may be pivoted and held at any desired angle relative to the leg, such that the wheel may be kept away from the ground while the stand is in use.

Abstract: A paper holder includes a generally rectangular holder plate, a clip member mounted on the holder plate and adapted to clamp a sheet of paper which lies on a front side surface of the holder plate, and a support plate. The holder plate has a rear side surface opposite to the front side surface and a horizontal row of interconnected abutting blocks which are fixed on the rear side surface thereof and which are different in thickness so as to define a stepped surface thereon. The support plate is attached pivotally and inclinedly to the holder plate and has a horizontally movable sliding unit thereon to contact the stepped surface in such a manner that the sliding unit abuts against a selected one of the blocks of the holder plate so as to form a predetermined angle between the holder plate and the support plate.

Abstract: A point of purchase display that has a horizontal base formed of thermoplastic material and an upright riser can be stored and shipped in a compact state and set up without the use of tools at the location where the display is used. The riser is formed from a flat sheet of cardboard with score lines for folding. The score lines can permit the riser to be attached to the base and folded under the base for storage and shipping and then allow the riser to be pivoted to an upright position where the riser is held in place. Various embodiments of the three-dimensional display are described and illustrated.

The bookstand comprises an "L"-shaped base having a back support panel portion and a bottom support panel portion. A lateral portion depends from a back end thereof to the rear portion. An inwardly extending front portion depends from the front end of the lateral portions so as to accommodate a portion of the book within each arm. A bracket is pivotally connected to the back support panel portion for supporting a book at the desired reading angle such that the book may be closed and supported in such a closed position in the device.

The panel is supported by the first support member and the second support member. The panel has a drawing face oriented upwardly at an angle to the horizontal. The device can include a supply tray for storing drawing supplies. The device can also include a second panel having a drawing face.

Abstract: A pilot's flight desk for use in aircraft as disclosed. The flight desk provides a planar desk surface supported above the aircraft floor by an upright support attached leg to a base plate which is clamped to the aircraft seat rails. The desk surface swivels and pivots with respect to the upright support and the upright support is pivotally attached to the base plate, thereby allowing for the compact folding of the pilot flight desk. A cup holder and swivel mounted pen light attached to the desk surface is also disclosed.

Abstract: A small sized article mounting device for mounting an article or ornament such as a picture plate, a record jacket, a photograph, a book, a mirror, a painting, a ceramic plate and the like is constituted by a supporting member and a standing member each having a predetermined thickness. The supporting member has one end and the another end, and a plurality of grooves near to the other end. The standing member also has two ends. The length of the grooves is larger than the width of one end of the standing member and shorter than the width of the other end of the standing member. The width of each groove is nearly equal to the thickness of the standing member. The two members are assembled together by utilizing either one of the grooves, whereby the standing member is adapted to support the rear surface of the article, and the supporting member to support the lower portion of the article. The device is supported by one end of the supporting member and the other end of the standing member.

Abstract: A portable easel with tray and table composed of two legs, joined at the top by a crosspiece having in it pegs for hanging a thin, rigid easel board to serve as backing for commercially available easel pads. The legs pass through holes at their approximate midpoint in a tray table which senses as a tray for marking instruments in the front, a table for papers, books and the like in the rear, and which holds the legs in their splayed position. The tray table rests on fittings which support the upper structures, join the legs laterally for rigidity at their midpoint, and into which the lower portion of the legs may be fitted and removed. The lower ends of the legs have rubber tips to increase friction with the floor, or may be attached to a rectangular base to afford greater stability. The lower halves of the legs, when removed, enable the easel to function as a table model, and reduce the size of the structure for transport and storage.

Abstract: An inverted book stand having a book support platform comprised of two pivotally connected, transparent panels. The panels can be moved from a first, stowed position, where the panels are folded together and in close proximity to each other, to a second, in use position, where the panels are folded open to an angle of less than 180.degree. to form the support platform. The panels are formed with an integral, angle limiting feature at the pivotal connection to maintain the angle between panels when they are in the open position. Support members are pivotally connected to the outer edge of each panel, opposite to edge of the panel from where the panels are connected to each other. The support members can be moved from a first, stowed position, wherein each support member is in a closed position parallel and adjacent to its respective panel, and a second, in use position, where the support member is pivoted to an angle of more than 90.degree. from the panel surface.

Abstract: A lightweight portable podium is provided for use in lectures and other speaking events. The podium rests on a table or desk and has an inclined shelf which forms the upper surface on which notes and papers can readily repose. The shelf is screened from public view and protected from wind by a main panel that forms the front of the podium and two side panels. The four pieces that comprise the podium are substantially flat and can be readily disassembled into a flat unit for storage or transit. The upper edge of the shelf is captured by two channels formed between the main and side panels. For disassembly the shelf is first pivoted to be parallel to the main panel. It is then slidden in the channels in a downward direction into contact with the main panel. The two side panels are then folded in over the shelf/main panel combination to form a flat, thin unit for storage or transit.

Abstract: A portable reading holder which has a loading frame, a base and a dust-proof cover. The loading frame has fixing ears formed at its lower end, which can be fixed on pivot seats of the base plate and can be rotated freely so as to regulate the angle. The best viewing angle when keying in data or a document laid on the reading holder is thus obtained. The portable reading holder is small and can be carried or repositioned conveniently.
