Abstract: Presented is a portable lectern which in its closed condition resembles a briefcase and which may be opened to provide a convenient self-supporting lectern for a public speaker.
Abstract: A padded carrying case having an inclined plane structure therein. The case is made of a resilient material and when placed on a standard folding chair results in a forward-sloping seating surface. The amount of sloping or pitch can be varied by use of a supplemental shim detachably mounted within the carrying case. The inclined plane member and supplemental shim can be removed from the case and assembled to form a reading stand for musical scores and the like.
Abstract: This invention relates to an artists' portfolio, for the purpose of retaining and transporting sheet material such as prints or photographs, in a manner affording protection during carriage but enabling the contents to be displayed individually when required. The portfolio has two covers 1 and 2 joined at 3 which may be brought into juxtaposition and secured by a slide fastener 5 and flap 6 having a catch 7. The cover 1 includes a spine 10 joined with a support board 12 which may be positioned to engage lugs 13 so as to form an "easel" structure. Transparent folders are secured to the spine 10 by rings 15. In this construction both sides of the transparent folders may be displayed by either lying on support 12 or cover 1. Further the folders depend from the rings when in a normal position of carriage ensuring the contents are always flat in a suspended state.
Abstract: An illuminated transparency viewing device is supported by a leg construction which may be adjusted to orient the viewer at different angles relative to a supporting surface. Two pairs of spaced apart legs are provided, each leg being pivotally mounted to the viewer housing for movement between retracted and extended positions so that either pair may be retracted or extended to tilt the viewer on edge. Each pair of legs may be of different length than that of the other pair. One leg of each pair is colinearly arranged with a corresponding leg of the other pair to define a pair of leg assemblies. Each leg assembly therefore has a pair of legs, each being mounted for pivotal movement between the side walls of a U-shaped bracket secured to the bottom of the viewer housing and may be extended from or retracted into the bracket.
Abstract: This invention relates to a compact, portable camping box designed to hold the necessary equipment for the preparation and serving of meals and which is readily convertible at the site of use to provide a table or work surface. It consists basically of an open-sided box having top, bottom, and end members and includes interhinged leaves attached to the sides of the box so that when folded upwardly the leaves serve as side members for the box in addition to providing an enclosed storage space for the component parts of a three-legged tubular support frame.
Abstract: The easel box comprises a parallelepipedic casing on which are hingedly mounted at least three telescopic legs and a canvas supporting structure, said supporting structure comprising a panel structure having a planar face and four peripheral side ledges. Canvas supporting means comprises a T-square structure provided with upper securing means and slidably mounted on the side of said panel structure opposite to said plane face, and lower pivoting supporting means slidably mounted on said side ledges of said panel structure. T-square structure is entirely concealable within said panel structure.
Abstract: A collapsible artificial Christmas tree having a telescopic mast mounted on a base, garland extending between the base and the top of the mast to form a generally conically-shaped configuration when in the erected position, the base being foldable to form a carrying case for storing the mast and associated garland when in the collapsed position.
Abstract: A lightweight stand that attaches to the bottom of a portable electronic instrument, such as an oscilloscope. Used in one assembled form to support the instrument at a convenient, working height and attitude, the stand can be dismantled easily and reassembled in compact, self-contained form for transit or storage.
Abstract: An artist's kit comprising a box and a pivotally mounted cover. The box can be secured to a mounting surface by use of mounting members to provide a stable support for the kit when in use. The cover is capable of being secured in a plurality of open positions and a head clamp and bottom support releasably mount the canvas to the cover during use. The head clamp and bottom support may be reversely mounted for transporting the canvas.
Abstract: A carrying case for transporting an article in an upright condition is described including a deep box having a front wall, a rear wall, a pair of side walls, a bottom, and defining an upwardly opening chamber therein. Advantageously, the case includes a laterally positionable holding apparatus which is secured to the box within the chamber for engagement with the opposite edges of the article and for holding it in spaced relation away from the front and rear walls. The case also includes a handle for carrying it and supporting it as a working surface, and a removable cover that serves as a tray.
Abstract: A bench member has spaced opposite first and second ends, a top and a bottom. A first pair of legs are foldably mounted on the bench member at the bottom of the first end thereof. A first guide device is affixed to the first pair of legs for removably supporting a palette between the first pair of legs. A second pair of legs are foldably mounted on the bench member at the bottom of the second end thereof. A second guide device is affixed to the second pair of legs for removably supporting a canvas therebetween. A storage box is pivotally affixed at a pair of corners of the box to the bench at the top of the second end of the bench. The storage box is for paints, brushes and supplies, and has a lid movably affixed to the box for selectively covering the box. Canvas supporting devices are provided on the inside surface of the lid for releasably mounting a canvas thereon whereby the lid functions as an easel.
Abstract: A portable device for demonstrating information including a receptacle with bottom and side walls. A lid is pivotably mounted on a side wall of the receptacle and a support element is mounted on the opposite edge of the lid. Leaf elements such as felt boards and peg boards are pivotably disposed at the intersection of the lid and support element.
Abstract: A sectional post having its bottom end adapted to be inserted into the ground and having a hook projecting outwardly from its top end adapted to support a lantern therefrom, and a series of rings detachably mounted to the midsection of the post to provide a wash stand support and a towel ring support, and a soap dish detachably mounted to the mid section of the post adapted to hold a bar of soap. There is further provided detachable guide lines for stabilizing the post, and a pouch type carrying case for carrying all of the components of the stand except for a lantern.
Abstract: Folding display easel for supporting documents for easy viewing. Easel has a center panel with upper and lower flanges, two inner panels slidingly engaging the flanges, and two outer panels hinged to outer edges of respective inner panels. Inner panels engage track means on flanges of center panel and are supported so that inner panels are spaced laterally from each other and from the center panel to permit the five panels to be stacked together without interference between adjacent panels. One leg hinged to rear of center panel, when extended supports the easel erected, and when folded serves also as handle. When extended outer panels are inclined obliquely to inner panels for easy viewing. Latch means holds panels together for carrying.
