Abstract: A kayak rack or structure that is reversibly attachable to a kayak and used to help carry, stow, or attach articles to the kayak. Kayak rack includes two support arms or support beams that are flexibly attached together with a special flexible support coupling that allows the two support arms or support beams to pivot relative to each other but still keeps the two support arms or support beams permanently attached together, along with an angled stanchion rigidly attached to each support arm or support beam, wherein each angled stanchion is angled at the precise angle required to mate with and reversibly rigidly attach to an existing, original equipment manufacturer's fishing rod holder that is built into the kayak.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for transportation of equipment, generally but not necessarily limited to sporting equipment. Generally, the apparatus described herein comprises a collapsible or foldable frame adapted for installation in the bed of a pickup truck or similar vehicle, where the apparatus can be unfolded to a “deployment configuration” in which elongated equipment may be securely attached to the apparatus for transportation. The apparatus generally comprises two opposing rails with bracing and equipment storage elements mounted in between, foldable at about a midpoint for easy of storage when not in use.

Abstract: A launchable communication device for divers includes a flag, a flag operating assembly, and a receptacle. The flag is coupled to the flag operating assembly and is positionable between an extended position and a collapsed position to facilitate an opening and closing of the flag in order to communicate with others in the vicinity.

Abstract: A rifle holder hinge mechanism comprising a support block with rifle hook attached thereto, the support block having a sleeve for receiving a hinge pin, and a hinge block, the hinge block having a hinge block sleeve, with a hinge pin rotatable within the hinge block sleeve. The support block further comprises a projection or detent, and the hinge block further comprise a cutaway or recess configured to receive the detent and limit rotation of the detent of the support block relative to the hinge block. Rotation may be limited 90 degrees such that the rifle holder hinge mechanism has a first position for receiving a weapon and a second position when it is not in use.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a Dual Longitudinal-Weld Step-In Anchor Post (DLWSAP) having a mast or body member extending along an axis, and weld fillets to an anchor member, the weld fillets located on both sides of a mating line of the body and anchor members, the anchor member bent in two places forming two segments parallel, and one segment orthogonal to the body member, the body and anchor members extending toward the ground, chamfered for ground penetration. In an illustrative example, a farmer wishing to reconfigure the fencing in his stockyard due to changes of his livestock populations, may insert a number of DLWSAPs along a perimeter of a new fencing enclosure, by setting the DLWSAPs in place, and stepping on the integrated anchor sections. The farmer may then, for example, hang mesh fencing on the DLWSAPs, to quickly create the new fencing enclosure.

Abstract: A cooler having a support bracket. The apparatus includes a cooler having a bottom, sidewalls and a lid, and a fastenerless support bracket. The fastenerless support bracket includes a cantilevered plate; a primary stop adjacent to the inside of one of the sidewalls, the primary stop adapted to prevent the cantilevered plate from sliding in a first direction; and a secondary stop adjacent to the upper portion of one of the sidewalls adapted to prevent the cantilevered plate from sliding in a second direction. The primary stop and the secondary stop are at a proximate portion of the cantilevered plate and adapted to be clamped between the lid and one of the sidewalls of the cooler. The cantilevered plate may be adapted to receive a fishing rod holder assembly attached to the distal end of the fastenerless support bracket.

Abstract: A versatile handrail and toeboard safety system that provides flexible solutions for the implementation of improved construction site safety barriers using specialized brackets to mount standard wooden members. The brackets of the handrail and toeboard safety system is formed of multiple orthogonally arranged plates creating spaces to receive and secure wooden construction members as a handrail for personnel safety in addition to a toeboard for equipment and materiel safety. The parallel plates are formed with several mounting points for wooden members and several mounting points for anchoring the bracket to a base floor. The brackets are formed to withstand a minimum two-hundred (200) pound force exerted at the top of a forty-five (45) inch tall handrail attached to the anchored bracket. The brackets provide the versatility to be used in various system arrangements and the expeditious setup and removal of the handrail and toeboard safety system.

The top section (6) comprises at least two discrete contour elements (14, 16) defining an outer contour of the top section (6) as viewed in a horizontal direction. The contour elements (14, 16) extend in a direction comprising a vertical component. The at least one antenna, when connected to the attachment structure (24), is arranged between the contour elements (14, 16). An antenna mast arrangement (2) comprising such a top section (6) and antenna mast body is also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for supporting one or more umbrella poles on a sunning platform such as a dock or deck includes providing a plurality of pole supports and mounting the base of each pole support to the platform. Each base is mounted to the platform so that an upper-most surface of each base is flush with the platform and aligned vertically. The pole supports are mounted around the perimeter of the platform so as to be spaced apart along at least a side of the platform closest to the sun at a first pre-selected time of day. At each pre-selected time of day, an umbrella when fully open and mounted in a pre-positioned pole support produces a corresponding shadow which falls substantially completely on the platform. A pre-selected sequence of positions provides shade on the platform at desired times of day.

Abstract: A fishing rod fixing device includes a base that is supported by two suction cups for easy and efficient attachment of the device to a smooth fixture surface. A seat is rotatably mounted on the base and is releasably set any desired horizontal direction by an adjustment knob. The seat includes a tubular bar on which at least one retainer is mounted and rotatable about the bar for setting the retainer at any desired inclination angle. An angle locking member is provided to releasably secure the retainer at the desired inclination angle. The retainer has a base support mounted to the tubular bar and a top wall member spaced from the base support to define a passage therebetween for receiving a fishing rod. A locking member is provided on the top wall and is manually movable to releasably and selectively secure the fishing rod to the base support.

Abstract: Generally speaking, this is a card positioning device which maintains a card such as a greeting card or a postcard in a standing position. The card experiences a destabilizing moment. The card positioning device has a moment resisting section to resist the destabilizing moment and maintain the card in a standing position. The moment resisting section connects to the origin end of the longitudinal fold of the card and extends along the card edges from the origin to reinforce the card edges. The moment resisting section has a foot which has a heel and toe to resist the destabilizing moment. An ornament such as a flag, character or emblem can be attached to the base of the moment resisting section. The ornament, moment resisting section and card, may be inserted into an envelope and mailed to a recipient.

The collapsible frame includes first and second rigid frame components 22, 24 carrying fixed hinge pins 38 that connect to first and second foldable frame components. The collapsible frame defines frame components with frame ends and the kit includes at least one light modifying flexible material segment with frame end receiving portions. The collapsible frame has a first erected size and the flexible material segment has a second size not greater than said first size so that the collapsible frame, when erected, permits a user to place the flexible material flag or net under tension upon the frame.

Abstract: A system for the securing of road flares in order to maintain continuous burning of the flares and not allow them to roll away. The system includes first and second holding means aligned either in the same plane, or offset from each other. The first holding means holds a flare by a first end of the flare. The second holding means is connected to the first holding means in either the same plane or else at a distance from the first holding means. The second holding means holds a second flare by the second end of the flare. Once the first flare has burned the entire length of the flare, it ignites the second end of the second flare so that the second flare is ignited.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder having one or more rod stations attached to a support bar. Each rod station includes a loop terminating in a pair of legs received in a pair of apertures in the support bar. In a preferred embodiment, the rod holder provides a plurality of rod stations to improve a fisherman's chances of catching a fish. In another preferred embodiment, the rod holder is configured with a pair of clamps receivable over the rim of a bucket allowing the rod holder to be used virtually anywhere. The bucket may be filled with water to provide storage for live bait.

Abstract: A clamp for controlling uplift on a metal roof. The clamp includes a unitary mounting body having a slot extending therethrough. This slot may be positioned over/about a standing seam on a metal roof and be appropriately secured thereto, such as by the use of blunt-nosed screws which engage the seam material.

The rods of the flag frame detachably attached to the hub such that the flag frame can be quickly set up and broken-down for ease of transport.

Abstract: A mounting for warning devices includes a body having one or more outwardly extending finger portions. Mounting staffs aligned with the finger portion are secured thereto with a sliding collar which surrounds both the mounting staff and finger portions. The mounting staffs may be pivotally joined to the body, adjacent each finger portion. The body portion may be mounted from an upright support member, secured to a stationary or mobile support.

Abstract: A tripod stand for roadway signs includes three legs pivotally connected to a mounting bracket at their upper ends. A plate is attached to the mounting bracket so that trough-shaped recesses are provided for guiding movement of two of the legs, with the bracket being formed to provide a trough-shaped recess regarding movement of a third leg.

The fastener is affixed to the apex of the conduit bend by a weldment.

Abstract: A fishing rod rack for supporting a fishing rod relative to a support surface. The inventive device includes a lower engaging assembly mountable to a vertical wall surface for receiving a lower end of a fishing rod. An upper engaging assembly is mountable to the vertical wall surface spaced from the lower engaging assembly for receiving an upper end of the fishing rod so as to support the fishing rod in cooperation with the lower engaging assembly. The upper engaging assembly includes a fixed upper support plate and a pivoting upper support plate which can be opened to facilitate positioning of the upper end of the fishing rod into an aperture directed through support plates.

Abstract: Apparatus for holding and supporting one or more fishing poles in a fishing position having frame structure with a support means adapted to support the frame structure on a generally horizontal surface and in an inclined vertical orientation, the frame structure having a fishing pole handle engaging device at the base and a transverse support structure adapted to laterally support a mid-length portion of the fishing poles, such that one or more fishing poles can be supported on the frame structure in a generally inclined vertical orientation, with the handles thereof engaged by the handle engaging device, and a mid-length portion thereof resting against the transverse support structure. Ideally, the transverse support structure is made of a flexible material, and the fishing poles are made to extend between a pair of elongated members on the frame structure adapted to prevent the fishing poles from being pulled from the frame structure.

Abstract: A device for holding two fishing rods simultaneously comprising a vertically positionably post, the post having a lower end insertable into the ground, the post having an upper end with an extent formed at an acute angle with respect to the vertical and a horizontal component at the upper end of the upper extent adapted to be held by the person fishing, the post having an intermediate extent to orient the upper extent at an elevation to locate the lower portion of a fishing rod at a convenient height for the person fishing; a pair of tubes secured to the post adjacent to the upper extent thereof to orient the tubes with the axes at a common acute angle from the vertical with the axes of the tubes being rotationally displaced at an acute angle whereby two fishing rods supported by the tubes will extend at a proper angular orientation with respect to the horizontal and at a proper angular orientation with respect to each other.

Abstract: The bail of a lantern is hung on a bail hook on the end of an extension arm, extending from the upper end of a straight rod. The rod is held vertical by a base. The bottom of the lantern is held be a hook on the rod, so that the longitudinal axis of the lantern is not parallel to the rod. A pair of fishing rod holders are also attached to the rod.

Abstract: A manual support apparatus attachable to a bedframe for providing a secure and stable method for a user/patient to transfer into and out of bed independently, and enhance in-bed mobility. The manual support apparatus has two primary parts: a planar plate member and at least one support tube. The plate member has outside edges for alignment with a bedframe's end and side rails. The support tube is attached to the plate member by suitable means. The plate member is attached to the bedframe's end and side rail by suitable means. Alternatively, the manual support apparatus can have a unitary construction, including a planar plate portion having outside edges and at least one support tube portion.

Abstract: Apparatus for protecting a plurality of fishing rods to be selectively used while fishing from a boat in different locations, as in tournament fishing. The apparatus has a rod holding plate, a support arm pivotally interconnected with the rod holding plate and the rod holding plate having a series of longitudinally spaced slots extending transversely of the rod holding plate. A tongue extends from the support arm and penetrates a selected slot to support the rod holding plate at a selected angle, and a keeper engages the tongue to keep the tongue in the selected slot. The fishing rods are releasably held on said rod holding plate.

Abstract: A sign stand and sign combination supported, when in use, by a pair of pivot leg assemblies secured along the bottom on the respective sides of the sign, each such assembly comprising a generally U-shaped leg having a generally linear center portion having formed therein a support locking aperture and a storage locking aperture, a leg support and a latch for engaging either the support locking aperture or the storage locking aperture for locking the leg either in a support position with the legs extending from the sign in a storage position with the legs substantially parallel to and adjacent the sign, is disclosed.

Abstract: A bass fishing organizer for holding in place a plurality of ordered fishing rods and respective associated accessories comprising at least one mounting based for being affixed to the deck of a boat and holding by way of a central support a bank member that, in turn, holds a plurality of respective holders for the respective fishing rods and accessories. Preferably a secondary mounting base is provided for storing the entire bank member with the holders and fishing rods such that they can be removed from a storage place such as a garage and emplaced on a boat easily. For example, the bank member may have as its central support a shaft that coengages a throat of a mounting base with slots in the throat and a C-clamp that snaps releaseably in place to engage a groove on the central support member shaft to enable pivotal mounting of the rods for convenience of the fisherman in getting to the respective rod and bait that he desires.

Abstract: A trolling bar assembly includes an elongated member or board which defines a plurality of longitudinally spaced rod holder apertures, a plurality of tubular rod holders and a pair of support brackets for securing the elongated member to the boat. The tubular rod holders are retained in the apertures of the elongated bar by a pair of longitudinally spaced garter springs disposed in notches formed in the tubular holders. The support brackets are adjustable longitudinally of the bar.

Abstract: A fork bar for motorcycles with two clamps surrounding the fork halves of the front wheel fork, which are connected to one another by two bar parts running essentially parallel to each other. The two bar parts are rigidly connected with one clamp each. The bar parts contact one another along a surface and are connected to one another by means of at least one connecting bolt running at right angles to this surface which is led through a through-hole running at right angles, on one of the bar parts. The through-hole has a larger diameter than the shaft of the connecting bolt.

Abstract: A holder/carrier is foldable into either an open or a closed position for respectively holding or carrying a fishing rod having at least a handle portion and a staff portion. The holder/carrier comprises a base for preparing bait, extensions mounted to the base and extended forwardly thereof for preventing tip-over of the base, and upstanding members mounted near a front edge of the base. Hinges and spring locks mounted near the front edge of the base keep the upstanding members upright and maintain the holder/carrier in its open position for holding the fishing rod. Lock knobs and ball snap locks mounted near a rear edge of the base lock the upstanding members folded down and maintain the holder/carrier in its closed position for carrying the fishing rod. A handle is mounted near the rear edge of the base for transporting the holder/carrier in its closed position in a briefcase-like manner. The base is a flat, horizontally oriented, cutting board.

Abstract: A versatile, adjustable storage system for fishing rods which consists of two basic components. One component comprises an extruded storage rack adapted to be mounted on a vertical surface. The rack includes an upper L-shaped flange and a lower flange which has a dovetailed channel or slot formed longitudinally therein. The other component comprises a socket member consisting of an annulus having a rearwardly extending support which terminates in a dovetailed flange. The dovetailed flange of the socket member may be slidably inserted within the longitudinal dovetailed channel of the extrusion, and a plurality of such sockets may be fitted onto a single storage rack and may be of different or common sizes for storing any desired number or type of fishing rods.

Abstract: A portable holder for one or more fishing rods is disclosed and comprises two or more rectangular plates fixed in vertically spaced, parallel relation with respect to one another by means of an elongate shaft which is pointed at its free end to provide easy penetration into the earth at a shore fishing location or the like. The uppermost plate or plates is provided with a pair of through bores positioned apart a given spacing to either side of the shaft axis. The lowermost plate is provided with a pair of blind bores arranged at a closer spacing to the shaft axis than the through bores of the uppermost plate or plates such that fishing rods supported in the holder are inclined outwardly at an angle with respect to the shaft axis. Preferably, the holder is formed of plastic or wood and may be integrally molded or assembled from its component parts.

Abstract: A holder assembly for a fishing rod or the like, including a number of readily replaceable elements adapted to hold any standard fishing rod during actual fishing, as in trolling, and safely store the rod while cruising to and from the fishing grounds, the assembly comprising a mounting base with keyhole connecting means for quickly attaching to or detaching from a supporting surface, a tubular socket on the base, an elongated sleeve for slidably receiving and holding a fishing rod handle, and means for readily securing and detaching the sleeve to and from said socket. The substitution of another sleeve having a portion with a larger diameter enables the holding of larger and heavier fishing rods. The substitution of another mounting base having a different angular arrangement of the tubular socket renders the holder assembly readily mountable on vertical, horizontal or angled supporting surfaces of a boat and permits the changing of the angular position of the held fishing rod.
