  • Patent number: 5074514
Abstract: The holder comprises a pot having a screw for fixing a tree stump in the pot chamber by clamping it against the opposite wall of the pot. The wall of the pot forms three inwardly and slightly upwardly extending cylindrical cavities at its base. Three legs are provided, one for each cavity. Each leg has a cylindrical spigot at its inner end and a main shank. The longitudinal axis of the spigot is offset slightly, relative to the axis of the shank. When the spigots are inserted into the cavities so that the legs are assembled with the pot and the assembly is nesting on a support surface, then manual rotation of a single leg will induce tilting of the pot. Thus there is provided a holder having a single screw clamping system and a rotatable leg levelling system.

  • Patent number: 4738041
Abstract: A display device having a collapsible display board which removably receives pictures which are intended to be displayed. The display board can have affixed to its back a support receiving means, the receiving means further being collapsible. In one mode the receiving means receives a supporting pole member which is itself supported by a polyhedral base such that a free standing display board is formed. The polyhedral base is collapsible into a substantially flat configuration for storage. In a second configuration, the support receiving means receives an L-shaped supporting bracket which can support the display board in its display mode on a flat surface such as a countertop or desk. This bracket is further collapsible for storage. Thus, by utilizing either of the supporting structures, the display board can be supported in either the free standing mode above the polyhedral base or can be adapted for mounting on a countertop display surface.

  • Patent number: 4393621
Abstract: A first embodiment of the invention is a tree holder which is comprised of a base and three or more orthogonally projecting members which are pivotably attached to the base at spaced apart locations which define a polygon. The distance between the members, which is varied by their pivoting, determines the maximum diameter of the stem of a tree which may be supported by the holder. The members project orthogonally from the base a distance along the stem of the tree to a position where branches of the tree engage the stem when the end of the trunk touches the base. The base has means for holding the end of the trunk at least partially within the area of the polygon. The members each contain a section offset from the point of attachment which is pivoted and locked in an angular position to engage the branches or the stem of the tree.A second embodiment of the invention is a tree holder which is comprised of a base and three or more orthogonally projecting members which are fixedly attached to the base.

  • Patent number: 4313588
Abstract: A Christmas tree base or the like with a cross-shaped stand or the like, on the legs of which holders for the trunk or the like are provided, which by springs are capable to draw the holders to the center of the base. A cam disc is located centrally in the base. The cams of said disc upon rotation in one direction push the holders outward from the center. Upon rotation in the other direction, the springs draw the holders inward to the center whereby the holders with their upper portion abut the trunk. The holders are slidable on the legs with a certain play, so that a "chest drawer effect" arises upon abutment of the holders to the trunk and thereby locking is effected. The springs, therefore, can be dimensioned so small that the rotation of the disc in one direction or the other does not require much force, because the disc preferably is located in such a plane that it automatically neutralizes the action of the "chest drawer effect".
