Abstract: A davit arm holder 30,50 for a davit arm 11-18 for suspending lines 4 from elevated heights by mounting the davit arm 11-18 on a structural substrate 1. The davit arm holder 30,50 comprises a base 50 formed from one or more planar layers 52 of sheet material adapted to lie parallel to the plane of a surface of the substrate 1, and an attachment 30 adapted to be fixedly attached to the base 50 and to provide a connection 32 to engage a davit arm 11-18. The base 50 includes an outer layer 52 and at least one inner mount 60. The outer layer 52 has a plurality of first engagement portions 70 that are radially spaced from a centre point 54 of the base 50. The at least one inner mount 60 is integrally formed with the outer layer 52, is fixedly securable to the substrate 1 and is adapted to space an inside surface 68 of the outer layer 52 from the substrate 1 to form a gap 66 under the outer layer 52. The base 50 is adapted to have a low-profile when anchored to the substrate 1.

Abstract: An improved fishing rod holder (10) made of wire includes a U-shaped cradle (24) loosely suspended from an arm (20) attached at the upper end of a vertically extending leg (18), the leg is further secured at the bottom end to a base (15). In accordance with the invention the fishing rod holder is especially adapted to be reactive and responsive under the subtle conditions of ice fishing. The reservoir can have a first opening for filling the reservoir with water and a second opening for draining water. Such systems and methods may include providing a load supporting stand with a column having an outer diameter, and a first end opposite a second end, a saddle attached to the first end of the column, a load bearing pin that extends transversely through the column and may be fixedly attached to the column, and a conduit capable of receiving the column, and a plurality of pin receiving slots disposed in the conduit and capable of receiving the pin, wherein the conduit may be capable of receiving the column and pin through the first end of the conduit, and wherein the column may be configured to be rotated within the conduit to translate upward from a top of the conduit such that the saddle engages the load to be supported.

Abstract: An apparatus for anchoring an umbrella having a generally cylindrical container structure, having a bottom panel area securely attached to the cylindrical center structure, the bottom panel having a generally concentric opening to the interior of the central structure which is adapted to permit an umbrella pole's lower portion to protrude therefrom for placement on a sand base. A panel with an upper opening is attached to the cylindrical central structure. The upper opening panel is configured to receive an umbrella pole and an amount of sand sufficient to provide support for the pole and ballast for the umbrella. At least one strap is attached at one end of the central structure and is of sufficient length to wrap over the umbrella pole runner and around the pole and through the spokes to secure the umbrella support structure, eliminating wobbling and keeping the umbrella from flying across the sand.

Abstract: A method of applying weights to the legs of instant pop-up canopies and the like is disclosed. The weights help prevent uplift under windy conditions. Each weight case is comprised of two half-round hollow cases. The case halves are joined by hinges on one edge and latches on the opposite edge. Each case half has a full length inner V-groove, which when closed, create a throughbore for the canopy legs. Each case half top is fitted with a filler hole and cap. The hollow cases can be filled with a variety of weight material. The weighted case is wrapped around the lower leg of the canopy and latched shut to secure the weight around the canopy leg. The weight case rests on the flanged footplate of each leg. Four to six weight cases are required for each application.

The support device comprises a pair of legs that are pivotable with respect to each other, thereby defining open and closed positions, and further pivotable away from the roller frame handle or extension handle. When the legs are in the open position and oriented away from the long axis of the roller frame/extension handle, the support device provides a generally planar support surface by which the roller frame/extension handle can be placed on the floor, on a table or against a wall such that a nap of a roller cover is spaced apart from the resting surface.

Abstract: Collapsible containers and associated methods are disclosed herein. Certain aspects of the invention are directed toward a collapsible container assembly that includes a foldable support member that has a length and a width. The support member has a concave cross-section that causes the support member to resist bending until a threshold force is exceeded. The support member has a folded position and an extended position where the support member is unfolded. The assembly further includes at least one surface member carried by the support member. The assembly has a deployed position where the support member is in the extended position and the at least one surface member forms an enclosure with an interior. The assembly also has a collapsed position where the support member is in the folded position. The container assembly has less exterior volume in the collapsed position than in the deployed position.

Abstract: Collapsible containers and associated methods are disclosed herein. Certain aspects of the invention are directed toward a collapsible container assembly that includes a foldable support member that has a length and a width. The support member has a concave cross-section that causes the support member to resist bending until a threshold force is exceeded. The support member has a folded position and an extended position where the support member is unfolded. The assembly further includes at least one surface member carried by the support member. The assembly has a deployed position where the support member is in the extended position and the at least one surface member forms an enclosure with an interior. The assembly also has a collapsed position where the support member is in the folded position. The container assembly has less exterior volume in the collapsed position than in the deployed position.

Abstract: An artificial Christmas tree stand comprises a receptacle, at least three equally spaced legs radially extending therefrom, an equal plurality of braces pivotally extending upwards from the legs' lengths, and outer struts and corresponding inner struts that travel a track in the braces' lengths. The legs pivot downwards 90° to collapse the stand for storage. The brace is extendable about a height of the tree trunk so that its claws can engage the trunk at a manually manipulated height. The braces essentially support the trunk upright as opposed to the conventional receptacle.

The cap further includes opposed side tangs that define therebetween an open channel for receiving a support structure.

Abstract: An anchoring device will cooperate with a slotted aperture in a planked surface, such as a deck or boat dock, is disclosed. An example of the invention includes an internal tube that is telescopically mounted within a hollow cylindrical external tube. A support flange that is mounted to the bottom of the internal tube at one end and to a support flange at the other end extends through the bottom of the external tube. A spring is mounted between the bottom of the internal tube and the bottom of the external tube, so that the spring may be compressed by sliding the internal tube into the external tube. The sliding of the internal tube into the external tube causes the support flange to extend, so that the planked surface may be gripped between the support flange and the bottom of the external tube.

Abstract: Disclosed is a tree stand that includes a flexible water reservoir as an integral part of the stand. The stand comprises a collar that is attached to first ends of a plurality of upper legs. The plurality of upper legs are attached at their second ends to first ends of a corresponding plurality of lower legs. Abstract: The present invention is directed to a support stand for a fishing pole holder, and is particularly adapted for ice fishing. In use, the stand holds the fishing pole in a generally upward angled position. The fishing pole is held in a pivotal position, so that upon sensing a hit on the attached line, the fishing pole tips downward. Legs, for supporting the body of the stand, can be placed in a first position or a second position, depending on the conditions of use for the stand. When not in use, the legs of the stand can be stored within the body.

The attachment assembly includes a base plate (10) and a magnet assembly (12), both capable of carrying a magnetic current. The magnet assembly includes a housing (20) and a magnet (22) disposed within the housing. To use, the magnet assembly is placed adjacent the base plate, the magnetic forces attracting and holding them together. The magnet is positioned apart from the base plate while the housing contacts the base plate to form the magnet circuit. An attachment plate (30) is connected to the housing upper wall adjacent its outer surface. The attachment plate includes one or more outwardly projecting attachment bolts (26). As assembled, the bolts engage corresponding openings (48) in the post base (42).

The arms of the plunger extend through a guide member and resiliently releasable locking means are provided, whereby the plunger can be readily pushed forward to press against the tree trunk but is locked against outward movement unless and until the arms of the plunger are squeezed together to release the locking means.

Abstract: A pole anchor installation having an anchor base with a central threaded open-ended hole mounted in a receptacle formed in a planking or concrete of a deck. An elongated sleeve having external threads is threadably fitted into the threaded opening of the anchor base so that the sleeve upwardly projects to insertably receive a substantial portion of a pole intended to be supported. A threaded blockage plug is received in the threaded opening of the anchor base when the sleeve and pole are not employed preventing clogging of the threaded opening. In a wood foundation, angular threaded bores are provided into which mounting screws are placed to secure the anchor base. In a concrete block or cement slab, reinforcing rods are carried on the underside of the anchor base and are embedded within the material of the block or slab. In either type of installation, the top surface of the support anchor base is flush with the surrounding surface of either the wood planking or the cement block or cement slab.

Securement near the top of the bucket adjustably supports the tree in an upright and straight position. The bucket holds a quantity of water and a float indicator is employed for visually indicating water level. The bucket is rotatably mounted on a stationary support which incorporates roller bearings on which the bottom of the bucket rests. Therefore, rotation of the tree via the bucket is achieved by the bearings at the bottom of the bucket and, if desired, bearings at the top of the bucket.

Abstract: The present invention provides a stand base comprising a central hub and a plurality of legs removably attached to the central hub. Each of the legs depends radially outward and downwardly from the central hub. The base stand is adapted to receive the central vertical support of a display rack and provide both lateral and vertical support thereto. The plurality of legs may be detached from the central hub and packaged together in a nested configuration that is compact for shipping and storage. Each of the plurality of legs has an arcuate shape so that the plurality of legs provide a natural resiliency and upward bias when a load is placed on the display rack. The base provides support in either a normal-load mode or a high-load mode for improved vertical and lateral support of the display rack.

Abstract: A preferred version of the umbrella holder 10 provides a support rod 20 having two fastening blocks which slide within an axial channel inside the support rod to adjust the rod to attach to the inside of a golf bag 100. An adjustment support 40 is releasably attachable to the support rod, thereby allowing the golf bag to be used only with the support rod attached when use of the umbrella is not desired. An umbrella support 70 is pivotably adjustable with respect to the adjustment support, allowing the angle of the umbrella handle to be altered, as desired, and to compensate for the angle of the golf bag when supported by its legs or cart. A spring biases the teeth of the adjustment support away from the teeth of the umbrella support when a connecting bolt is loosened, thereby allowing convenient alteration of the angle of support.

The fan is mounted on the stand such that the motor shaft and fan blades are rotatable about a vertical axis to emulate a ceiling fan.

The pole also supports an umbrella that can be used for shade when the table is located outside. The fan motor is mounted co-axially with the fan. The device includes pole mounted lights and a mist device. The patio table fan combination is powered by conventional household electrical outlet or by solar panels mounted on the patio umbrella. The central pole for the device comes in three pieces to facilitate shipping and assembly.

Abstract: A ballasted support base is disclosed which may be used to support a large variety of structures and objects. In the preferred embodiment, three equal arc-shaped tanks are fastened together to form a disc-shaped base. When empty, the tanks may be easily transported and they may be stacked to occupy minimum space. When the tanks are fastened together, a flange is used to support a center plate which in turn supports a pole. A plurality of diagonal supports are attached to the pole and the periphery of the base. Each tank comprises a cap for preventing liquid from evaporating and a recess is provided on each tank to allow the tanks to be stacked without interference from the cap. Each tank may also comprise stiffeners for withstanding compressive loads and an adjustment plate may be used to adjust the angular position of the pole.

A plurality of legs are releasably attached to the exterior of the container and may be interconnected by braces. The cavity and the legs are sized so that the diameter of the cavity is greater than the height of the legs half the length of each leg is less than the depth of the cavity. This enables the legs to be nested within the cavity so that the tree stand can be placed in a relatively small box for shipment and sale. An inner cup can be placed within the cavity and may rotate relative to the container. Stepped ribs or an insert having a conical cavity may be placed within the inner cup or the container to enable the tree stand to hold artificial trees having different trunk diameters. A water reservoir is preferably attached to the container and legs. A wick and water retaining pad may also be provided.

Abstract: A portable mount for a satellite dish antenna. The mount is comprised of a hollow base designed be to filled with liquid ballast. The top surface of the base contains an indentation for receiving an antenna support mounting bracket and a second, connected indentation for receiving an antenna support when not in use. When in use the base is filled with ballast material, the antenna support is rotated to a generally vertical position, and a satellite dish is attached. When in transport, the ballast is emptied, the satellite dish is removed, and the support is rotated into its indentation in the base. The base is generally rectangular, with a handle formed therein.

Abstract: A portable shade unit particularly adapted for ready assembly into a free standing configuration may be assembled from a kit of prepackaged components. These components include a weightable base formed with an inner space for ballast such as water or sand. On a top wall of the base are sets of clips to hold an adjustable standard, a tiltable knuckle connector, and a commercially available hand-held umbrella such as a golf umbrella. For assembly a lower end of an outer tube of the standard is fitted in a bushing on the base. An upper end of an inner member of the standard then is placed into a lower sleeve of the knuckle connector. Lastly, a handle end of the umbrella is fitted into an upper sleeve of the connector. A canopy of the umbrella then may be opened to provide shade or other protection from weather as required.
