Abstract: A hangar device for holding a recessed lighting fixture to a pair of beams utilizing a pair of elongated members movable in relation to one another. Each of the elongated members includes a shaft and an end piece angularly disposed in relation to the shaft. The end piece includes a lip fixed at an angle to the same and an end portion for fastening the pair of elongated members to each of the beams.

Abstract: A one-piece hanger for supporting objects on a wall is disclosed which initially penetrates, and upon full insertion, is substantially irreversibly locked in the wall so that rotation relative to, or removal from, the wall is prevented. The hanger comprises a spring wire element including a straight shank portion which connects a front hook portion with a rear locking portion. The latter has a parabola-like shape, terminates in a pointed and threaded penetrator, and overlies substantially all of the shank portion. A disc or flange is fixed on the forward, outer end of and in generally perpendicular relation with the shank portion and abuts generally flush with the wall when the hanger is mounted on the wall. In mounting the hanger on the wall, the pointed penetrator is first forced through the front face of the wall to form a hole through the wall. As the hanger advances through the hole, the penetrator arches unwardly and back towards the wall and pierces and embeds itself in the rear surface of the wall.
Abstract: A heavy duty expansible junction box hanger assembly adapted for installation from beneath a ceiling through a junction-box aperture in the ceiling without complete prior removal of a previously installed light-weight hanger assembly. The portion of the light-weight hanger directly above the aperture is cut away, and the heavy duty hanger is maneuvered through the aperture to a position above the light-weight hanger. A pair of feet on each end of the heavy duty hanger straddle the light-weight hanger and rest on the upper ceiling surface, aligning the heavy duty hanger parallel to the ceiling, after which joist engagement means on the hanger assembly are expanded into biting contact with the joists.
Abstract: A support for a ceiling fan or other fixture has a pair of slidably interconnected, pointed lances adapted to be driven into engagement with spaced structural members. A tool-strikable striking element is adapted to be coupled to each lance at a selected location along the length thereof. The support is adapted to be installed through a small hole in a preexisting ceiling or wall.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an apparatus for suspending a load from a wall, which apparatus incorporates a rigid rod which can be driven through a wall, a convoluted cord wouplce to the rigid rod, and a hook device having a slot which can be forked about the convoluted cord trailing through the wall to thereby compress the wall between the rod and the hook, so that a load can then be supported from the hook.
Abstract: A wall bracket having mounting means integrally formed or fastened thereon in the form of an angle shaped extension with a pointed end for piercing into the surface of a sidewall so that by piercing the pointed end through the sidewall and pulling the bracket downwardly 90.degree., it is firmly mounted on the sidewall without the necessity of screws or other fastening means.
Abstract: A bracket having mounting means integrally formed or fastened thereon in the form of a pair of sharp projections extending upwardly from a vertical support arm for piercing into the surface of the ceiling or any projection where it joins a side wall and having, projecting from the lower portion of the support arm, a horizontal sharp projection for piercing a side wall, merely by manual pressure, or by the tap of a small object. The weight of any object, such a plant supported by the bracket, will cause the horizontal projection to bite even more deeply into the side wall and will be resisted by the lateral support in the ceiling or projection provided by the two vertical sharp projections.
Abstract: A mounting plate assembly for securing a curtain rod bracket to dry wall or the like. The assembly includes radiused anchors which are easily rotated into the wall. The anchors may be constructed individually and then incorporated into the assembly or, in an alternate embodiment, may be formed integrally with the mounting plate. The mounting plate employs a U-shaped flange and a plurality of spring fingers to removably retain the curtain rod bracket on the dry wall.
Abstract: Curtain or window shade hardware having a breakaway tab handle for holding the hardware while it is being fastened to a window frame, door frame, wall or similar element of a building structure. The hardware may have integral prongs extending therefrom as fastening means and may have a hammer strike pad to provide a safe striking surface.
Abstract: A bracket construction for mounting curtain rods and the like to a conventional wooden molding which eliminates the conventional need for screws or nails. The bracket includes an essentially flat base plate from which a pair of opposed curtain rod receiving arms project forwardly and a top flange which projects rearwardly from the top edge of the base plate and is furthermore provided with downwardly projecting tangs. The flange is adapted to contact upper edge portions of the molding and the tang adapted to project thereinto so as to support the bracket in the desired position on the molding. In addition, a side tab rearwardly projects from the base plate and is adapted to contact the side edge or end wall of the molding so as to mount the bracket at the molding extremity.
Abstract: For use with a frame to be hung on a wall by one or more attachment devices on the frame each engaging a hanging device on the wall, a method and apparatus for positioning one or more hanging devices on the wall is provided which includes an elongated body having a tab for engaging the attachment device. The body is generally flat and arranged to be releasably secured to the frame on one side, and after the frame has been located at a desired position on the wall, the opposite side of the body can be releasably secured to the wall. A portion of the body is arranged to identify a point on the wall where each hanging device is to be located in order that the frame will hang in the desired position.
Abstract: A hollow wall fastener using a specially shaped or conventional toggle bolt and a toggle anchor which is pointed and which has an open groove for receiving the toggle bolt. The end of the groove has a threaded portion which cooperates with a threaded portion of an aperture opposite the groove to permit the anchor to pivot with respect to the bolt to a position where the bolt is threadably engaged and locked in the threaded portions of the anchor, forming a "T" configuration behind the surface of the hollow wall. Thereafter the bolt may be rotated, e.g. by turning a screw or fastener body, to draw the anchor tightly against the interior of the hollow wall.
