  • Patent number: 5217211
Abstract: A fluid-filled elastic mount including first and second support members and an elastic body interposed between these members for elastic connection thereof. The elastic mount has a pressure-receiving chamber partially defined by the elastic body, first and second equilibrium chambers defined by first and second flexible diaphragms and communicating with the pressure-receiving chamber through first and second orifice passages, respectively. The second orifice passage has a higher ratio of the cross sectional area to the length than the first orifice passage. The present elastic mount further includes a pressure control device for selectively applying a vacuum pressure to a vacuum-receiving chamber which lies behind the second equilibrium chamber via the second diaphragm, to thereby restrict elastic deformation of the second diaphragm.

Abstract: Elastic bushing with hydraulic damping of radial elasticity by circulation of liquid between two chambers opposite one another connected by a very long annular passage located in the round exterior fastening armature. A rigidity decoupling, over a short stroke, is provided by the deformation of a thin wall in each chamber. One side of the thin wall has air thereagainst and the other side has a damping liquid thereagainst. On the air side of the thin wall, movement is limited by an internal fastening ring, and on the liquid damping side by contact with a comb integrated in said internal fastening ring. Application of the bushing is in the fields of mountings for an automobile engine and similar uses.

Abstract: A vibration isolator is operatively associated with a suspension having a spring (21) and a fluid damper (22) arranged in parallel with one another between two masses (23, 24) which are arranged to move relatively toward and away from one another. A restricted orifice (33) communicates the opposed damper chambers (30, 31). The vibration isolator includes a fluid pump (46) and an actuator (48) for operating the pump. The pump has a first chamber (51) communicating with the damper first chamber (30), and has a second chamber (52) communicating with the damper second chamber (31). The pump is selectively operated so as to create a pressure differential across the orifice to oppose and substantially cancel the dynamic force transmitted through the spring and damper and attributable to high-frequency relative vibration between the masses, while permitting the damper to damp low-frequency relative velocity between the masses.

The elastic connector has a main fluid chamber and a first and a second auxiliary fluid chamber, which are formed between the inner and outer sleeves such that the first and second auxiliary fluid chambers are disposed diametrically opposite to the main fluid chamber with respect to the inner sleeve, and such that the first and second auxiliary fluid chambers are spaced from each other in an axial direction of the inner sleeve. The main, first auxiliary, and second auxiliary fluid chambers are filled with a non-compressible fluid. The center pier of this portal is fastened to one portion of the structure, whereas the two side piers are fastened to another portion of the structure so as to compel this metal element, upon a relative movement of the two portions of the structure, to be deformed in the elasto-plastic field, thereby dissipating the deformation work by hysteresis of the material principally in the form of heat.

Abstract: A power unit mount through which a power unit is mounted on a vehicle body. The power unit mount is comprised of an elastic support member securely disposed between inner and outer cylindrical members which are respectively connected to the power unit and the vehicle body. The elastic support member is formed with a hollow a part of which serves as a main fluid chamber. A diaphragm member is secured to the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylindrical member to define an auxiliary fluid chamber which is communicated through an orifice passage to the main fluid chamber. The diaphragm member is disposed separate and independent from the elastic support member, thereby enabling damped vibration frequencies to be tuned within a low frequency region corresponding to engine shake and/or idling vibration, regardless of the rigidity of the elastic support member.
