The first member has a planar face on one end engaging the first plane and has a spherical face on the other end. The second member has a spiraling face on one end and has a spherical face on another end. The spherical face engaging the spherical face of the first member so that the first and second spherical faces maintain substantial contact for transferring the axial load between the first and second planes whether the planes are parallel or non-parallel. The third member has a spiraling face on one end and has a planar face on another end. The planar face engages the second plane. The spiraling face engages the spiraling face of the second member. The axial dimension of the second and third members can be adjusted when at least one is rotated.

Abstract: A bottom base 15a of a transportable mixer M is provided with internal threads 16a, while the upper end of a stand 20 is provided with external threads 25a which engage the internal threads 16a. The mixer M is adapted to be mounted on the stand 20 by the threaded engagement between the internal threads 16a and external threads 25a. Furthermore, a groove 15 is provided on an under surface 14 of the mixer M, the groove 15 extending from one end of the under surface 14 to the other end through the center. On the groove 15 there are provided the internal threads 16a. The mixer M is formed to have a low front part and a high rear part, such that a top surface 11 of the mixer M has a low front part and a high rear part when placed on a table 26, and stays on a substantially horizontal position when mounted on the stand 20. As a result, a transportable electro-acoustic apparatus capable of being fixed on and supported by a stand is provided.

  • Patent number: 7616437
Abstract: A vibration damping mechanism includes a frame, cushioning members, a heat sink, and fastening members. The frame has a base plate and supporting arms disposed on the base plate. Each cushioning member is disposed on a respective one of the supporting arms, and has a through hole. The heat sink supports a hard disk thereon such that the hard disk lies flat against and is secured on the heat sink, and has a plurality of fastening holes. Each fastening member extends through the respective through hole and threadedly engages the respective fastening hole such that the heat sink is suspended on the supporting arms and abuts against the cushioning members. Thus, the area of contact between the heat sink and the hard disk is increased to enhance the heat transfer efficiency, and the cushioning members provide the heat sink and the hard disk with a cushioning effect.

  • Patent number: 7296777
Abstract: Forces are minimized in an object supported relative to a surface by providing a first, preferably static force sufficient to retain the object is position when at rest, preferably through a clamping arrangement having a first actuator, measuring or predicting an acceleration and applying a second, preferably dynamic force corresponding to the acceleration. The first and second forces are preferably arranged to be additive or reinforcing but the arrangement can be made fail-safe at the expense of increased power consumption by arranging the first force in accordance with the maximum anticipated acceleration and counteracting the first force with the second force for lesser or zero accelerations. The second force is preferably provided by a clamp of arbitrary configuration which can be moved into and out of engagement with the object. By minimizing forces applied to the object in such a manner, damage such as creep and propagation of crystal lattice dislocations over time can largely be prevented.
