Abstract: To provide an electrical junction box having a new structure that can be securely attached to a hole and can be readily removed even if a large clearance is required between the electrical junction box and a peripheral edge section around the attachment hole. An elastic projecting piece is integrally provided on a main body of an electrical junction box. The elastic projecting piece protrudes from an outer surface of the main body. The elastic projecting piece is provided with an engagement projection and an attachment projection that protrude outward from the main body opposite from each other in an extending direction of the elastic projecting piece to constitute an engagement fixing section. Elastic deformation of the elastic projecting piece permits the main body to be fitted into the attachment hole. A second inner peripheral edge portion around the attachment hole is clamped between the engagement and attachment projections.

  • Patent number: 8309847
Abstract: Drain structure of an electric connection box is provided that is capable of preventing penetration of water with simplicity. According to the drain structure of the electric connection box, since a pair of engaging leg portions of a waterproof lid is engaged in a peripheral part of a communication hole of the drain portion and a lid portion covers the upper part of the water discharging hole, the water that penetrates through to the inside of the electric connection box through the communication hole and water discharging hole of the drain portion can be dammed in use of lid portion of the waterproof lid and can be prevented from gushing into the electric connection box. As a result, since it is possible to prevent the terminal portion of a wire such as a wire harness or the like, which is arranged to run from moistening with the water, penetration of water can be surely prevented.

Abstract: A hanger assembly for supporting an electrical box above a drop ceiling having a grid supporting structure. The assembly includes an elongated one-piece bar with a U-shaped cross-section, an end bracket secured at each end of the bar, a center bracket, an anchor bar, and an electrical box. The end brackets include an inner leg for resting on the horizontal ledges of adjacent T-rails and arms for loosely fitting over the top of the T-rails. A fastening arrangement for securing the electrical box to the elongated bar enables mounting the electrical box in two ways. The electrical box can be mounted with its sides square with the bar or with the sides at a 45° angle to the bar. Mounting the electrical box with the sides at a 45° angle provides full access to all knockout apertures in the sidewalls of the electrical box.
