The formwork mould is characterized in that at least two of its sides (20) consist of elongate, cross-shaped, modular base element (10), each having a longitudinal axis parallel to the one adjacent thereto; each base element (10) is made to conform to the shape of a U-shaped groove (12), and is produced from an airtight, flexible material impermeable to water and assembled by welding, stitching, bonding and the like. A link system (26) joins a number of base elements constituting one side to a corresponding number of base elements opposite forming the opposite side (20). The links (26) of a predefined length, preserve the entire geometrical relationship between the two opposing sides (20) of the inflatable formwork mould. An external envelope optionally made from an extensible material produces a smooth, plane or curved moulding surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1992Date of Patent: March 28, 1995Inventor: Henry Pavie

Patent number: 5269997Abstract: A method and apparatus for stamping a blank of plastic material, such as a soap blank, into a shaped article, such as a soap bar. The apparatus and method uses a pair of mating die halves spaced apart from one another in order to receive the blank of plastic material. Thereafter, the blank of plastic material is stamped and shaped by closing the die halves so they are mating. The die halves are then opened so as to discharge the shaped article and receive a new blank of plastic material. The present invention contemplates placing an elastomeric septum across each die half between the blank and the die half so as to prevent plastic material from sticking to the die halves after stamping. It has been found that a septum made from latex works well.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1992Date of Patent: December 14, 1993Assignee: The Procter & Gamble CompanyInventor: Thomas F. Leslie

Patent number: 5268137Abstract: An object retention form liner is described for use in holding and transferring objects, such as thin bricks to the finished surface of concrete structures. The form liner is produced by strategically positioning a plurality of bricks in a face-up position in a flat, shallow mold. Recesses sized to fit the bricks can be provided in the surface of the mold with a sealing ridge provided between each of the recesses. The bricks are positioned in the recesses and a liquid elastomeric material is poured into the mold to cover the bricks. Reinforcing fiberglass mesh can be embedded in the elastomeric material to provide additional tensile strength to the liner. Upon setting, the liner and retained bricks are removed from the mold and the liner can be stored, shipped or used in concrete construction. The liners are attached to the inside surface of concrete forms and the bricks are held rigidly in place while the concrete is poured and sets.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1992Date of Patent: December 7, 1993Inventors: Samuel C. Patent number: 5232646Abstract: The present invention is a contoured wall and method for creating the contour and appearance of a wall formed from individual assembled units such as stones. The wall is formed from a plurality of interlocking wall portions that each have at least two non-linear mating surfaces. Each of the wall portions further has a lateral face contoured to resemble the stone wall. The wall is formed from hardenable construction material such as concrete poured between two mold members. Each of the mold members has a lateral mold face with at least one of the lateral faces having a plurality of interlocking contoured relief portions to provide a molded surface having the contour of a stone wall. In one embodiment, at least one of the mold members includes a plurality of individual form liners, or mold modules, each of which includes two non-linear mating edges and a lateral relief mold face.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1990Date of Patent: August 3, 1993Assignee: Concrete Design Specialties, Inc.Inventors: Peter A. Patent number: 5228395Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing cheese comprises charging molten process cheese into a mold consisting of a plurality of cardboard lined, open-ended mold cavities oriented in spaced rows and circulating cooling air between and around each row to effect cooling of the cheese to the desired temperature. The rows of columns are defined by pairs of parallel side panels and crossed partitions formed of a rigid material and defining cavities which are elongate and rectangular in cross section. Support members hold the rows of columns in a parallel, spaced apart relation. After cooling, the mold is elevated, allowing the cheese columns covered by cardboard to be discharged from the lower ends of the mold cavities.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1991Date of Patent: July 20, 1993Assignee: Welcome Dairy, Inc.Inventor: Lea Eggebrecht

Patent number: 5225134Abstract: The present invention is a contoured wall and method for creating the contour and appearance of a wall formed from individual assembled units such as stones. The wall is formed from a plurality of mating form liners each having a reciprocal contoured surface to that of the desired stone wall. The wall is formed from hardenable construction material such as concrete poured between two mold members with the form liners attached to at least one of the mold members. Each of the form liners has a lateral relief mold face adapted to provide a molded surface having the contour of a stone wall. Each lateral relief mold face of the form liners has a latticework non-linear mortar-forming interlocking portion surrounding stone-forming recessed portions. The form liners ar positionable in a plurality of arrangements wherein the interlocking portions and recessed portions along the mating edge of each form liner mate along the mating edge of the adjacent form liner to form a continuous lateral relief mold face.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1991Date of Patent: July 6, 1993Assignee: Concrete Design Specialties, Inc.Inventors: Peter A. Patent number: 5221542Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for making an electrochemical cell solid electrolyte holder. A layer of solid electrolyte powder or its precursor is formed around an externally screw threaded mandrel. The powder is pressed to form the holder in a green state with internal threads formed by the mandrel. The mandrel is screwed axially out of the green holder, after which the green holder is sintered. In the apparatus there is a mandrel which has external threads, and a flexible sheath. The mandrel is receivable in the sheath to provide an annular space around the mandrel for receiving a powder to be isostatically pressed by the sheath. The space is provided between the sheath and a mould, but can, instead, be provided between the mandrel and sheath, or between two sheaths between the mould and mandrel.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1991Date of Patent: June 22, 1993Assignee: Programme 3 Patent HoldingsInventor: Johan Coetzer

Patent number: 5202132Abstract: Overall production line equipment is utilized in producing many large concrete panels, in an initial horizontal position, during each day of many operational days, with these panels preferably being later installed vertically with other like panels to form a sound barrier alongside a vehicle way. Each concrete panel has its own integral pilasters at respective edges, in turn having respective tongue and groove edges; respective patterns and color accents on each side, with the pattern on the then top side being formed by using a rockable stamp subassembly, mounted on a cart; reinforcing throughout the panels, inclusive of the integral pilasters; lifting subassemblies; and anchoring subassemblies, adapted to be later mated with a receiving subassembly anchored in a concrete footing, located where the panel with other panels forms a sound barrier alongside vehicle ways.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1991Date of Patent: April 13, 1993Assignee: Concrete Products IncorporatedInventors: Douglas W. Patent number: 5176839Abstract: A multilayered insulated mold structure is provided. An insulation layer provided on each of the mold cores retains heat at the molding surface, thereby increasing surface quality of the finished part. The insulating layer has a varying density across its thickness so as to have a low density center region and high density surface regions. By having a relatively low denisty, the center region of the insulating layer has a low thermal conductivity. Thus, the insulating layer may be made from the same material as the core and still have an acceptable insulating value. The use of the same material for adjacent layers reduces the potential of delamination of the layers. The multilayered mold is compatible with passive or active heating of the molding surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1991Date of Patent: January 5, 1993Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Bang M.
